PrinceWatercress plays Sly 2: Band of Thieves - Part 19 of 49


In this entry, we finally flush Rajan out of his temple, both figuratively and literally, before taking him on for the other half of the Clockwerk Heart. But as we fight Rajan on his own turf, things go from bad to worse...

Rip-off The Ruby


You'll need to play as Sly for this one.

The Cooper Gang has been contracted to acquire a huge ruby at the front of Rajan's temple for a local crime ring. In exchange for the ruby, the crime ring will give them a powerful Cherry Bomb 500 for getting Rajan out in the open.

As Sly, you'll need to jump up and whack the ruby - which has a gold glow around - a few times to free it from where it has been fitted. After that, the ruby will soon pop out and fall to the temple entrance. You'll then be playing as Murray to get it to the buyers. Head to where the ruby is, and the rest of the mission will begin.

Pick up the ruby with the stomp move. Bentley will move ahead and inflate cushions that look like the Sly Cooper emblem, and you will need to throw the ruby into these cushions in order to get is safely past gaps without breaking it, as you cannot jump while carrying an object. Keep Bentley in your sights as you move from cushion to cushion; thankfully, Bentley will wait for you to catch up. As long as you are facing in the general direction of the cushion, you should be good, and the closer to the cushion you are, the better. The ruby is extremely fragile, and if it breaks, you're starting this job all over again.

You'll need to get the ruby over to the waterfall. This should be simple enough. Once you get it to the waterfall for appraisal, the next task will be to take it to the buyer. This time around, you will have to deal with enemies. If that happens, get to the next cushion, throw the ruby to it, then take out the enemies before you lose the ruby. Also, make sure you don't punch the ruby; that will break it and make you start the mission all the way back from the waterfall.

Once you get the ruby to the last cushion, the mission is done.

Now that the third leg of the episode is done, it's time to get Rajan out into the open. You'll need to blow up the elephant mouth on the temple to fully flood the area. While Bentley is in the gun turret, Murray will pry the mouth open. After that, Sly will have to walk the Cherry Bomb 500 into the throat, then get to high ground quickly. Rajan will show up as angry as ever, and Sly should be able to take his half of the Clockwerk Heart and get out of there. 

Operation: Wet Tiger


You'll start as Murray. Head to the marker at the satellite array and Bentley will show up. He will head to the turret while Murray heads for the elephant's mouth. Once you make it to the lever for the elephant's mouth, you'll have to fight enemies before you can press Circle on the lever and pry the mouth open.

From here, it's back to the turret with Bentley. Shoot down all the bombs that are dropping down. Fire in short bursts and ahead of where the bombs are going to be, and you should take them all out.

You'll then go back to Murray. Mash the buttons to open the elephant's mouth, and you'll then play as Sly. Get in the nearby TNT barrel and walk it to the door near Murray. As soon as you jump out of the barrel, you'll get a cutscene of Sly and Murray high-tailing it out of there just before the bomb explodes and the temple area gets flooded out. Rajan will be forced out of the temple and challenge Sly. Neyla will show up to confront Rajan, and tells Sly to keep up with her.

From here, you'll be jumping to pillar to pillar with the spire point jump. Use the nearby mushroom to jump to the pillars, then use the spire point jump to get from one pillar to another. Watch out for the thunder that Rajan shoots at you, and if you get zapped, keep tapping Circle quickly to ensure you don't fall down and have no choice but to start over.

When Sly catches up with Neyla, however, Neyla turns on him and Sly gets zapped. Murray is left with no choice but to fight Rajan, who insults Murray on the basis of his appearance.

Showdown With Rajan


You'll need to use Up or Down on the D-Pad or left analog stick to run circles around Rajan. If he swings low, be ready to jump. When he brings his staff down, keep moving either up or down. Once you're clear, keep hitting him with the triple hook combo with the Square button. If you can knock Rajan into the electric barrier surrounding the battlefield, you can do some extra damage.

If Rajan sends enemies at you, don't worry about them. Keep moving in a circle and hitting Rajan as soon as you're able with that three hit combo. As for the enemies, Rajan will unwittingly take care of them for you. If anybody drops any health, get it immediately.

If Rajan lifts his staff up with both hands briefly, be ready to double jump so you aren't hit with the lightning attack that covers the entire floor. 


After the battle, Murray will get the other half of the Clockwerk Heart, then tells Neyla to throw down a ladder, unaware that Neyla has turned on the Cooper Gang. Carmelita and The Contessa show up, but Neyla also turns on Carmelita, saying that Carmelita never captured the Cooper Gang because she was in league with them, and produces a photograph of Carmelita unwittingly dancing with a tuxedo-clad Sly Cooper to prove it. The Contessa has Carmelita arrested along with Sly and Murray. Meanwhile, Bentley, who has stayed out of sight, is the only member of the Cooper Gang still at large.
