PrinceWatercress plays Sly 2: Band of Thieves - Part 8 of 49

We head to India for another Clockwerk part, but first, we need to hunt down thirty more clue bottles.

Episode 2: A Starry Eyed Encounter

The second episode takes place in India. A mysterious spice lord named Rajan has the Clockwerk Wings. Rajan also happens to be an illegal spice lord who started out selling spice on the black market only to turn a selling job into a large spice empire. Rajan is holding a party in his newly-purchased "ancestral palace" to show off the Clockwerk Wings like a trophy in order to get some more prestige.

Once again, you'll only be able to play as Sly, but Bentley and Murray will become available as the episode opens up. Get used to this being a thing throughout the game when you start a new episode.

Sly's Combat Dodge technique allows Sly to quickly sidestep an enemy when necessary. Just assign it to a button and press it and the direction you want to go before an enemy hits you to scoot out of the way. This technique actually uses special weapon energy, so watch out.

There are elephants with two flashlights slowly moving around near the safe house, so be careful not to be noticed by the elephants. There will also be some snakes hiding in bushes; be ready to strike them down if they pop up.

Don't forget that you can do the spire jump on pointed objects to get to other areas. Just jump on a pointed object with blue sparkles at the tip as Sly, then press Circle. You should be used to this move by now, especially if you've mastered the first game.

Treasures of the Video

Burial Urn - There are some bridges near the safe house above a bottomless pit. Just like the water surrounding Paris in the first episode, falling into the bottomless pit surrounding the area will take away a bit of your health before taking you back to safe ground. On the other side of it is a waterfall as well as the Burial Urn, the first timed podium treasure of the game. Unlike the other podium treasures you've run into, this one has a bomb strapped to it, so if there are any blinking red lights on a podium treasure, you'll know it's timed. Thankfully, this one is really easy to bring back to the safe house if you just take the bridges back to the safe house; just make sure you don't get hit or run out of time, as either thing happening will send the treasure back.

Ancestral Kite - This is on a side balcony in the palace area. At least this one isn't timed. This one is a bit deep into the level, but if you can make it to the fire pit, that's half of the battle done. (I carry this thing around for the remainder of the video while looking for clue bottles. I don't recommend doing this.)

At this point, you'll be used to the three types of enemies in every episode: the flashlight enemies; the small enemies with the megaphones, and the small enemies that just attack. Interestingly, the flashlight enemies in this stage throw daggers at you instead of shoot lasers. Even without the guns, their aim is good. Also, the megaphone enemies will throw fly-like droids that will fly towards you and shoot lasers downwards as they fly. If the lasers hit you, you're going to fry as if you touched fire or lava.
