PrinceWatercress plays Sly 2: Band of Thieves - Part 49 of 49

At last...the final confrontation with Clockwerk/Clock-La! How will this all end?

Mega-Jump Job

A radio pulse will need to be sent out to Carmelita so she can find the blimp. You'll need to jump up four radio towers and power them up via a Mega-Jump pack. By pressing R2 (or whichever button you assign it to), you can perform a super high jump.

Use L3 to find the four radio towers, and use the Mega-Jump Pack button to jump up to the radio towers. You can also Mega-Jump off spire jump points, too. Once you make it to the platforms of the towers, you'll need to make wrap-around jumps to the top of the tower you're on, then press Circle at the very top to activate the tower. Be sure to use the Paraglide to float towards the towers while you are high in the air.

The Mega-Pack will only work for this job; once you're done with this part, the Mega-Pack will be gone.

Carmelita's Gunner

Close to the safe house is where you will meet Carmelita. From here, it's (almost) down to business where Sly mans the turret to take on Clock-La. Like with all the other turrets, you'll need to watch the temperature gauge at the bottom while aiming with the left control stick or D-Pad and firing with R1.

Try to get whatever damage you can on Clock-La as you keep all of her attacks from hitting you. If any missiles are fired at you, destroy them. The missiles with the red trails take multiple shots to destroy. As for the electric rings, they are handled a little differently; unlike the first game, where you had to shoot the rings multiple times to shut off the electricity flowing into the center so you could safely pass through them, you only have to shoot them once here and keep from accidentally hitting them a second time and powering them back on, leading you to shoot them a third time to turn them on again.

If red waves emanate from Clock-La, shoot her multiple times quickly, or else you'll get hit with a powerful psychic shockwave.

Once you beat Clock-La, Clock-La will crash into the blimp, sending the safe house scattering into the air with Bentley and Murray still inside. It's now time to make your getaway, but you'll need to save Bentley and Murray first.

Showdown With Clock-La

You'll have to jump - and Paraglide - from one platform to the next in order to catch up with Clock-La. Hold R1 at all times. When you reach the last platform, jump towards Clock-La and keep Paragliding towards her. You'll eventually land on one of her wings to take her on.

Spire jump your way to the right wing behind Neyla's wing without getting hit. When she looks at you, get a few shots in, and when her eyes glow red, get on the spire jump point at the back of her neck to avoid getting blasted.

After this, Clock-La will crash land in Paris. It's time to finish the job and remove the hate chip inside of Clock-La to power her down for good. As Murray, jump over the lasers, then go up to Clock-La's face and lift up Clock-La's face. From here, you'll play as Bentley. Lay down bombs on the two hinges at the side of Clock-La's mouth and place bombs to blow them up. From there, you can grab the hate chip with Bentley, but when that happens, Clockwerk/Clock-La's beak will crush Bentley, effectively paralyzing him. The Cooper Gang gets away, with Murray carrying Bentley out as Clockwerk/Clock-La explodes.

With Clockwerk's parts destroyed and in heaps, Carmelita destroys the hate chip, which in turn destroys Clockwerk's body and renders all the parts inoperable. Afterwards, Carmelita puts the Cooper Gang under arrest, and Sly proposes he goes quietly while Bentley and Murray are allowed to walk. Carmelita agrees, and Bentley and Murray leave their gear behind as they leave. After Carmelita gets promoted for capturing Sly, Sly and Carmelita get to know each other on the plane ride to prison, but when Carmelita finds out that the plane ride has taken two hours - and Sly notices he has seen the Eiffel Tower seventeen times - Carmelita finds out what is going on and Sly manages to escape, leading to the least cliffhanger-y ending and the easiest 100% completion in the series, due to the game having nothing like the Master Thief Sprints from the first game or the Master Thief Challenges from the third game. Congratulations!

PrinceWatercress plays Sly 2: Band of Thieves - Part 48 of 49

In this episode, we have to disable one last power station before the final confrontation with Clockwerk aka Clock-La.

Murray/Sly Tag Team

You'll need to play as Murray to start this one.

The Diablo Fire Slam is a slam attack you can perform on a grabbed enemy.

For this job, Bentley will need to take out some wall-mounted power stations by throwing enemies into them, then pry the door into a nearby engine room by hand. There are five power stations in all, and you can look for them all with the L3 button.

Interestingly, this is the one time that the helicopter eggs will come in super-handy. Just stomp and throw them like you would any other enemy at the power stations to take them out. In other areas, you may have to use things such as explosive drums, chairs and barrels that are in the vicinity and readily available to throw to quickly destroy the power stations.

Once all five power stations are destroyed, use L3 to find the door you need to lift. Get there, then mash the buttons after you grab the door to get it open. From here, you'll be playing as Sly again.

Since I first see them here, I'll mention them here: Clock-La has her own searchlights, and if you get caught under them, enemies will show up.

In the engine room, you'll need to jump around constantly to avoid the lasers while the laser walls slowly move. At the top floor, you'll have to spire jump between saws at regular intervals while still keeping from moving too fast and running into the laser walls. Next to the switch is the final Vault. Open it to get the Shadow Power move. It's the invisibility from the first game, and you can move with it much like the improved version of the move from that game, except slightly faster. It uses special weapon energy, so don't rely on it too much.

After you hit the switch and complete this leg of the game, it's the grand finale. Carmelita has contacted Bentley via short wave radio and has agreed to help the Cooper Gang defeat Clock-La. Unfortunately, she cannot find the blimp, so the strength of four local radio towers. Once Carmelita is in range, she will need a tail gunner to face Clock-La. The blimp is almost above Paris, and Clock-La's plan cannot come to fruition...

PrinceWatercress plays Sly 2: Band of Thieves - Part 47 of 49

In this entry, we get the last big ticket treasure before disabling another engine.

Treasure of the Video

Golden Vase - This is near the stack of crates on the lowest level. Once you get it, make your way up, and Paraglide to the safe house like you did with all the other treasures.

Bentley/Murray Team Up

You'll need to play as Bentley to start this one.

The Temporal Lock allows Bentley to freeze time around the guards for a short time. Really useful if you need to make an escape, especially if you have Adrenaline Rush equipped.

For this one, Bentley will have to hack the stations controlling access to the engine room so that Murray can go inside and use his muscle to finish the job. From here, you'll need to use L3 to find the three terminals. One is near where the mission starts, while the other two are at the engines you have yet to disable. You also have to do all three terminals in a specific order, and you'll need to use L3 to figure that order out.

With that, you have one last hacking job. For these hacking missions, you'll have special shots that will bounce off walls a few times before eventually disappearing. Use this to your advantage and take out any stationary tanks around blind corners. The first part is a linear path to get you used to these shots, the second part is a battle arena-esque layout where you'll have to move around and deal with moving enemies, and the third part is another linear path where you constantly have to deal with moving enemies towards you while using the bank shot to the best possible advantage.

After the last terminal, the metal door next to you. As Murray, you'll need to lift all of the giant cylinders in the room, then destroy them on the top level. Just grab a cylinder and mash the buttons to lift it, then take out the enemy that pops up afterward. Once you lift all the cylinders up, go up to the top floor and hit the tops of the cylinders with the Thunderflop. Once you do that, you'll be able to access the switch and disable the engine here.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly 2: Band of Thieves - Part 46 of 49

In this episode, we go for two of the big-ticket treasures before shutting down one of the blimp's engines.

If you run near the mechanical eggs, they will hatch and spawn helicopters that will fly around and shoot at you. The helicopters are easy to defeat, but they can annoying if other enemies are around.

Treasures of the Video

Jeweled Egg - This one is near the rear engine room. Take out all the nearby enemies first, then Paraglide your way to the safe house once you're close enough.

Golden Headdress - This is behind the left building past the left rotating ring/fan. If you know how to get the Jeweled Egg to the safe house, you know how to get this over there.

Sly/Bentley Conspire

You'll need to play as Sly to start this one.

Sly and Bentley will have to work together to disable one of the engine. Sly will have to pickpocket the guard's keys to the engine room, then Bentley will take over.

As always, use L3 to locate where the guards with the keys are, then pickpocket accordingly. The hardest one to get to is near the crates where the third big-ticket treasure is. You'll ether have to approach him from a weird angle from the side or use the Alarm Clock to distract him. If you're going to do the latter, get rid of all nearby enemies first. Interestingly, it is very much possible for other enemies to kill a guard with a key, which leads to a job fail and forces you to restart with all the keys you've taken. The guy near one of the engine room is also hard to get the key from, and you'll have to approach him like you did the crate guard.

Once you unlock the door, you'll be playing as Bentley. Enter Binocucom mode at start shooting the bulbs with the dart gun. Once you shoot a bulb, you'll need to shoot the bulb that is either directly above or below it. It won't be hard to find, as you'll see a red bolt of electricity coming from the one you shot. If you shoot any of the other bulbs, you'll create a power surge that will blow up the engine and take you with it.

Once you destroy all the bulbs, go up to the next level and lay bombs at all the orange nods on the floor while avoiding the helicopters. Once you blow them all up, you can pull the switch to disable the engine.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly 2: Band of Thieves - Part 45 of 49

Brace yourself for the hardest mission in the game, all of it due to the enemies being really annoying if you meet up with them at any point, being unable to jump and really having to know your way around in order to do anything.

Charged TNT Run

You'll need to play as Sly as this one, and...oh, dear lord. This is the hardest job in the game.

The engine room is locked down tight, and the only way to get in is to blow it up from the outside. You'll need to jump into a TNT barrel and walk it to the entrance to destroy it, but along the way, you'll need to pick up three magnetic charges and avoid enemies, all without jumping out of the barrel and detonating the TNT prematurely or getting spotted by enemies, as the initial payload isn't strong enough and you'll need the chargers to power it up.

As you do this, you'll have to be extremely patient with enemies, especially the ones with the flashlights, for if they get close, they will sometimes stick around and make it nearly impossible for you to get around until they pass by. Also, use L3 constantly to keep track of where the charges are. As long as you grab a charger, you won't have to worry about collecting it again in case of a job fail as long as you don't give up on the mission.

The trampolines that normally bounce you up will rise up like an accordion when you stand on them. Keep this in mind if you need to go up a level in certain locations.

Once you get all the chargers, you'll have to cross the tilting rings to get to where the Sly Cooper icon is and jump out of the TNT barrel there. The hardest mission in the game is done.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly 2: Band of Thieves - Part 44 of 49

We've got all the clue bottles. Now to see what's going on with all the Clockwerk parts and...oh, dear.

Blimp HQ Recon

Now that we've got all the clue bottles, it's time to play as Sly once more and start doing recon.

Bentley has detected large magnetic waves in a nearby blimp, which means that Clockwerk's parts are nearby. It's time to do some recon. Climb up the nearby rope, then Paraglide to the wing of the blimp. From there, climb your way to the air vent, break it open and go on in.

Once you're inside the blimp, you'll find out Clockwerk's body is complete, but not activated. From here, you'll need to take some pictures. Go down and look opposite of where you start for the picture of the mech eggs. For the electro-platforms, stand on the top of teh arch near the start and get the picture from there. The arch on the opposite end will not only give you a picture of Clockwerk's head, but a good look at Neyla with Arpeggio. Once you're done with the first three pictures, you can get pictures of both of them, too.

With Neyla and Arpeggio conspiring to rebuild Clockwerk, Sly asks Bentley for a quick plan of attack. Bentley will tell Sly to reverse the polarity of the magnetic inducers in an attempt to make everything fall apart. Unfortunately, the inducer speed control station is locked down, and you'll need to pickpocket the guards to get the keys for it before you can reverse the polarity of the inducers.

Deal with the guards one at a time, and try not to get spotted. When you pickpocket a guard of their key, get rid of them with Silent Obliteration to make this part easier. (Had you attacked a guard before this part, you'd fail the recon part of the mission.) From there, you can get to the speed control station and unlock. This will slow down the electro-platforms of the magnetic inducer, allowing you to get on them. Climb to the roof from Clockwerk, Paraglide to the platforms when they are right-side up, then press Circle at the consoles to deactivate them.

Clockwerk's body will go down, then Neyla and Arpeggio will see what is going on. Unfortunately, our efforts have done the opposite of the intended effect and locked Clockwerk's parts in place, fully rebuilding Clockwerk. Sly confronts Neyla and Arpeggio, the latter of whom wants to join himself to Clockwerk to be born anew and achieve immortality as he views the other members of the Klaww Gang as short-sighted, expendable and only out for themselves. As for the hatred that kept Clockwerk alive all these years, that is where the spice trade carried out by some of the Klaww Gang's members came into play, and with spice consumption making people vulnerable to aggression and hypnosis, Arpeggio could use his blimp with help from The Contessa's talents to make his blimp a massive transmitter of precise light frequencies than would turn normal people into hate-ridden beings. The only source of light that could help him with that is the Northern Lights, and he collected its energy in order to hypnotize the world with a hypnotic light show of hate, starting with Paris, France, where Dimitri managed to fool everyone into consuming food seasoned with illegal spice. As Arpeggio proceeds to join himself with Clockwerk, Neyla double-crosses him and joins herself with Clockwerk to become Clock-La. Clock-La squashes Arpeggio, killing him, then flies through the window and out into the outside world around the blimp.

This starts the second leg of the episode. There is still a chance of beating Clock-La, despite her being unleashed on the world. Clock-La will have to draw energy from the engines of the ship in order to build up power, and if the engines are destroyed, she will be in a state weak enough to be attacked. The engines must be disabled in order to power Clock-La down.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly 2: Band of Thieves - Part 43 of 49

It's time for the final episode. Before we can stop Clockwerk from being resurrected, we have thirty more clue bottles to get.

Episode 8: Anatomy For Disaster

The battery has been by Arpeggio. As a boy, Arpeggio was an exceptional student, but could not keep up with the other boys physically, and he could not fly. He focused on finding a cure through the works of the Renaissance masters, and this led to the Klaww Gang hiring him as chief inventor. Now Arpeggio has all the Clockwerk Parts in another effort to become able to fly, and all he has to do is put them together...

The enemies seem to be a little smarter than in the other episodes and can seemingly see you from a good distance away, though maybe it's just me. The jetpacks on the enemies can be dangerous; if they're in the air, don't touch the flames that come from the jetpacks, as they will burn you.

The level design here is pretty symmetrical, and I ended up not having much of a problem remembering where the clue bottles were. I managed to luck out on where Bottle 29 was as it was the hardest to remember.

The Feral Pounce is a super jump for Sly Cooper, which lets him jump over vast distances when the assigned button is pressed. I use this to get Bottle 9.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly 2: Band of Thieves - Part 42 of 49

In this entry, the Cooper Gang goes for the Clockwerk Talons at last, but they get more than they bargained for in the attempt.

First | Previous | Next | End

Operation: Canada Games

You'll need to play as Bentley. Just walk down the ramp leading to the safehouse and you'll start the mission. Jean Bison will not be far away; just walk up to him and the games will start.

For the log chopping contest, you'll need to hit X on the gauge at the top of the screen when the green line moving back and forth is in the middle. If you're not accurate enough, you'll have to try again. You'll then see Jean Bison step up to the challenge. Here, you'll be playing as Bentley. Avoid being hit by the eagles as you make your way to the platforms floating around in the icy waters. This can be a little difficult, as all you can do is walk; you can't even jump or run with the egg in your hand. At least the game gives you the ability to walk onto every platform, assuming your timing is good. You also have a limited amount of time, as shown in the lower-right hand corner. Once you reach Jean Bison, you'll win...or so you think, thanks to Jean Bison's skills at judge intimidation.

For the next step, you'll be playing as Sly. Swing one from one hook to another within the time limit. If you see any hooks with a red panel around them, time your jumps and grabs so that you don't get shocked. If you know what you're doing, you can get to the top quickly and easily. When Jean Bison steps up, you'll be playing as Murray. Man a grappling hook and aim it at Jean Bison; if the rope latches on, you've done it right. Do this with all three grappling hooks. I made this look a bit easier than it usually as, as it usually takes me a few tries to pull it off. Once again, however, Jean Bison intimidates the judges into giving him perfect scores.

The final competition is the spinning log competition. You'll be playing as Bentley here. Jump from one log to another as you avoid falling into the water, and pay attention to the logs so you don't get dunked. The logs usually bob forward before going under briefly. Use single jumps to go from one log to another unless you really mess up; in that case, you'll want to double jump. Also, stay on the center log for as much as possible for the best view of where to go.

In order to keep from losing, Sly cooks up a plan at the last second to get rid of the judges and replace them. If you don't have the Alarm Clock equipped, equip it now, then throw it on the middle platform of the three near the judges. When you attract one of them, get away, then throw one on the first platform. From there, get further away, throw one close to the cave, then get far enough away so you can't be seen. That way, they'll go in, get beaten up and be replaced by a member of the Cooper Gang. Once you get rid of all three judges, Jean Bison will get so angry with the Cooper Gang that he will throw his wooden staff, complete with the Clockwerk Talons at them and knocks them out in a fit of rage for wanting the Talons so badly.

When the gang comes to, they will be trapped in the sawmill control room. Only Bentley will be able to escape, and when he does, he is instantly met by Jean Bison, who reveals that he has taken all the Clockwerk Parts that the gang had and sold them to Arpeggio before insulting Bentley's intelligence. This starts a boss battle.

From here, you'll need to stay from Jean Bison at all times. You'll need to lure Jean Bison into the machinery in order to deal damage to him, and you'll also need to use the face buttons on the controller to call out to Sly which traps need activating. Use Square for the flame vents, Triangle for the saws on the floor and Circle for dropping the logs above. Also, don't be near the traps, as they can hurt you, too.

After dealing enough damage, Jean Bison will send minions after you, and he will also try to hit you with a ram attack if you're close enough to him. He will also be faster. Stay as far away as possible and keep hitting him with the traps without getting hit yourself. When he's nearly done, he will throw lit dynamite at you to the point that there will always be one cluster of dynamite out at all times, and you'll have to avoid that along with the enemies as well as Jean Bison. Jean Bison will also speed up even more. If you can keep your distance and keep hitting Bison indirectly with the traps, Jean Bison will go down and the escape plan will be in effect after Jean Bison is arrested. Thankfully, you can easily run to the battery if you have Adrenaline Rush equipped. The only problem is, Arpeggio has all the Clockwerk parts. Also, the van floats away on an iceberg and you won't be seeing it again until the middle of the third game.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly 2: Band of Thieves - Part 41 of 49

In this entry, we steal an eagle egg, but to do that, we have to destroy the oil mains to create the updrafts necessary to glide to the nest.

Old Grizzle Face

You'll need to play as Murray for this one.

In this job, you'll have to destroy all the oil mains to order to help Sly get the upwards thermal drafts he needs to get the eagle egg. To destroy the oil mains, you'll need to throw fish at them so old Grizzle Face, the bear that is running around in the wild in this episode, will smell the fish on the oil mains and destroy them. Thankfully, Bentley will be constantly launching fish to your current position by throwing bombs in the water. All you have to do is stomp the fish to pick them up, then throw them at the oil mains.

As you do this, you'll have to wait for Grizzle Face to get there, so keep throwing fish at the main you're currently at and keep an eye out. When you see Grizzle Face show up to commit his act of destruction, hightail it out of there. You have four oil mains to take out in order to complete the job. Watch out for enemies,

Thermal Ride

After completing "Old Grizzle Face," this is playable. You'll need Sly for this one.

You'll need the help of the Canadian eagles to win the Lumberjack Games. To do that, you'll have to steal an eagle egg and bring it back to the safe house, and you'll be able to use the parents' protective instincts against Jean Bison. Now that the mains have been destroyed, the updrafts created by the destruction will be enough to take Sly to the nest.

If you go too low at the updrafts, you'll be burned to a crisp, so stay as high in the air as you Paraglide from the top of the lighthouse. When you Paraglide into an updraft, the camera will focus on the next updraft you need to go to, so you can always move forward with the left stick or D-Pad without having to go in any other direction.

After the updrafts, you'll want to steer well clear of the eagles. If even the wings clip you, you're starting the whole job over. Once you reach the island, use the hooks to get to the nest and get the eagle egg. From there, you can launch yourself off the hooks of the buoys, spire jump onto the top of them and make your way back to the mainland. Get to the safe house, and the job is done.

It's now time for the Lumberjack Games. During the log chopping contest, Bentley will have to place the eagle egg in Jean Bison's pants as Bison's turn is up so that the eagles can attack. For the climbing competition, Bentley will have to utilize grappling hook guns to grab onto Jean Bison with and pull him off the wall, keeping him from finishing first in that competition. As for the log rolling competition, Sly will have to grease the logs to keep Jean Bison from winning.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly 2: Band of Thieves - Part 40 of 49

In this entry, we do things with the battery. First, we make sure no more power builds up in it, then we suck out all the power so we can hide in it once we get the Clockwerk Talons.

Lighthouse Break In

You'll need to play as Sly to access this mission.

The lighthouse is the conduit for powering the Northern Lights Battery, and it must be shut down or else the battery will continue to fill with energy and make for a bad hiding spot. The entire gang will have to get into the lighthouse, and Sly is the only who can climb to the top, sneak to the ground floor and sneak the rest of the gang in.

Climb to the top of the lighthouse, then press Circle at the Sly icon on the hatch to open it and get inside. You won't be able to flip the switch, so go down the stairs, taking out all the enemies and avoiding all the traps as you do. Don't drop down the center, or else those red pulsating energy waves will kill you and you'll have to start the descent all over.

Once you reach the door at the bottom, press Circle at the Sly icon on the chair. You'll let Bentley and Murray in, From here, you'll have to go all the way up until you reach a gap in the stairs. When you get there, jump on the spinning part of the platform and climb up the ropes. If you reach a dead end on a rope, or if you see a red energy wave appear on the bottom of the rope you are on, jump and switch to another rope. When you reach the top, go to the switch. It isn't frying with electricity anymore, so you can now shut the power off with it and overload the collection mechanism.

Boat Hack

You'll need to play as Bentley to start this mission.

The Reduction Bomb is a special weapon for Bentley. When thrown, it shrinks enemies in the area, making them weaker and easier to beat up.

It is now time to drain the battery. By attaching a boat's grappling hook to the top of the silo, the battery's energy should be siphoned off and depleted. To get on the boats, you'll need to find Murray (use L3) and jump into him and press Circle so Murray catches Bentley. From there, use the left analog stick or D-Pad to aim and X to throw. Once you get on a boat, press Circle at the terminal to play a hacking mini-game. Once you have hacked a boat, you'll take it to the lighthouse where Sly is waiting. Shoot the grappling hook to Sly. Once Sly catches it, it's on to another boat. You'll be doing everything from the Murray turtle toss to the grappling hook shooting with three boats, and as you progress through this job, the hacking missions will get harder. Once you're done with the third grappling hook, it's on to the next job.

It should be mentioned that on the way to the third boat, you'll have to toss Bentley onto an iceberg. That iceberg is the wooly mammoth that jumped into the icy waters and got re-frozen earlier. Poor thing.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly 2: Band of Thieves - Part 39 of 49

In this entry, we trek into a perilous bear cave for radio transmitters, then infiltrate an RC car combat club to find out where the battery is.

Treasure of the Video

Jeweled Chalice - This one is at the top of the lighthouse. Once you get this, climb all the way to the spire at the very top of the lighthouse and Paraglide in the direction of the safe house. Once you land, run to the safe house. Despite the strict time limit, you should be able to make it.

Bearcave Bugging

You'll be playing as Sly for this one.

The wild bears in the area have been tagged with radio tracking devices, and if you can get enough of these devices, you can bug Jean Bison's cabin. You'll have to crawl into a nearby cave, get near the bears and press the Circle button when the mouths are open so you can steal all six radio transmitters.

Not only will you have to avoid putting your weight on the ice on the ground in anyway, you will also have to climb on icy walls to get to some of the bears. There is a hook on the wall near the start, but you're better off taking the long way back. If you mess this part of the job up even after you're done with it, you'll have to start all the way back at the entrance to the cave with zero transmitters and you'll have to get them all over again.

Once you're out of the cave, you'll be using the L3 button to figure out where to place the transmitters. Once you find a spot, walk up to it and you'll place the transmitter. This shouldn't take long.

RC Combat Club

You'll be playing as Murray for this one.

The Guttural Roar is used to scare enemies away. This does use special weapon energy, and while it trips the enemy alarm, enemies will run away from you rather than towards you.

There is a cabin where several off-duty guards meet and conduct an RC car combat club. Murray will have to enter in disguise and become part of the group to find out where the battery is.

When you enter the cabin, Murray will hide, and Sly will show up to knock an old moose head to the ground so that Murray can wear it. This is much like the sawmill mission, as you will have tread on some dangerous hardware and crawling underneath some sawblades to get to the old moose head. Wait for the sleeping guard to fall asleep briefly so you can avoid the flashlight. When you reach the platform, crawl underneath the tables to get to the moose head, then press Circle to knock it down.

Murray will meet with the club for an RC car duel. Use the left analog stick to street. Up is forward, down is backwards, and left and right turn. Hold X to accelerate. If you pick up ammo, press Square to fire the turret. While you're not moving, you can use the left stick to aim the turret before firing.

When you bring the opponent's gauge all the way down, you'll find out where the battery is and complete the mission.

Now that we're done with the second leg of the episode, it's time for the third leg. In order to win the Lumberjack Games, we'll have to cheat. Murray will need to lure a bear into destroying the nearby oil mains. Once that's done, the oil will ignite and create enough of a whirlwind to allow Sly to Paraglide over to an eagle's nest and get a Canadian eagle egg. As for the battery, it will have to be modified to be used as a hiding place. Grapple lines will have to latched onto the battery from local boats, then the gang will have to break into the lighthouse and break the power flow to the battery so it cannot recharge.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly 2: Band of Thieves - Part 38 of 49

Now that we have the clue bottles for this area collected, we can get the vault almost immediately and we can also get started on trying to take those Clockwerk Talons.

Treasure of the Video

Collectible Plate - This one is not too far from the safehouse. Just wait for the time for the log to float by and you should be able to run to the safe house.

Recon the Sawmill

You'll need to play as Sly to start this mission.

Once you reach where the mission is supposed to start, use L3 to find all the areas where you need to take pictures, then get near those areas and take pictures of them with the Binocucom. You'll need to take pictures of the sawmill blades, the bear, Jean Bison's house and a boat. Once you do that, Bentley will be able to formulate a plan.

You'll then need to head to the lighthouse. Use the floating jetsam as a means to get there, then look for the Sly icon that indicates a crawlspace that you need to enter. Once you're inside, take pictures of the spinner, the front door and the battery charger. The spinner is the hardest thing of the three here, as it is quite fast. Once you get all of those pictures, you'll be able to take a picture of Jean Bison, who is mumbling to himself about the Lumberjack Games and making the Clockwerk Talons the prize for this year.

After this, you'll get another slideshow from Bentley to signal the second leg of the episode. The gang will have to take part in the Lumberjack Games. Sly will need to get a log chopping guide that has been frozen in ice by a recent avalanche for the Games, and that plans to store the gang inside the battery to take a shortcut to Arpeggio's blimp need to be started immediately in order to get the last of the Clockwerk Parts. Unfortunately, Bentley does not know where the battery is, and Sly and Murray will have to join the RC car combat club in disguise and take in order to get this information. Meanwhile, Jean Bison's house needs to be bugged. (We're doing this again?) Sly will need to steal radio tags off local bears and jerry-rig them into a sensor array to keep tags on Jean Bison.

Laser Redirection

You'll need to play as Sly to start and play this one.

To get that frozen book, you'll need to bounce the beam of an industrial laser out the window so that Bentley can harness its power and free the book. There should be a switch that will bounce the beam out of the building; once you trip it, you should be able to go outside and utilize its power from there.

The vault is here, and if you can open it, you can get the Lightning Spin. By utilizing this move, you'll perform a spin strike that allows Sly to shock all enemies around him. This uses special weapon energy, so be careful.

From here, your laser beam dodging and platforming skills will be put to the test. If any saws are moving, wait for them to stop before utilizing them.

Once you throw the switch, the laser will be redirected. Climb up the ladder and you'll be outside. Find where the laser and its small trail of smoke is and press Circle where the laser and smoke are to redirect it with one of a few crystals that Bentley has put in Sly's pouch. For the parts where you have to stand on the claw-shaped ice crystals, just walk to where the laser is and you will break them apart to get the laser going elsewhere. After a while, you'll get the log chopping guide and free a wooly mammoth who then runs into the ice and goes back to being frozen.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly 2: Band of Thieves - Part 37 of 49

It's time to go after Jean Bison again - and take back the Clockwerk Talons - but before that can happen, we have thirty more clue bottles to find.

Episode 7: Menace in the North, Eh?

Back in Canada, things are not right, including the Northern Lights, which has appeared and disappeared. It appears that the Northern Lights are positioned in front of a lumber yard, where Jean Bison is utilizing the Lights with help from Arpeggio. Jean Bison also has the Clockwerk Talons in order to cut down trees himself. It's time to take them back.

Treasure of the Video

Jade Decanter - This is on the porch of Jean Bison's cabin. Thankfully, if you know the terrain, it's easy to run and Paraglide to the safe house. Use L3 as often as you can and you should be able to get this thing back to home base.

The Thief Reflexes is the same as the Slow power-up from the first game. It slows time to a crawl, and it uses special weapon energy as you hold the assigned button.

When you leave the safe house, you'll find out that Arpeggio's blimp is due any minute to pick up a battery, that Jean Bison still has the Talons, and that you'll have to find a way to sneak aboard the blimp in order to tail Arpeggio. We have so much to do and so little time.

The cane has been modified to climb on ice. If you jump into an ice wall, the cane will turn into two smaller canes that can be used to climb on the ice. Watch out for falling icicles when on them...they'll hurt and knock you off if they connect, especially at the lighthouse.

Speaking of the lighthouse, the very top is the site of one of the clue bottles as well as the best place to Paraglide from.

Just like last time, there are bears. Just like last time, don't mess with them.

The outhouses will spawn an enemy out of them if you pass by them too loudly.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly 2: Band of Thieves - Part 36 of 49

In this entry, we pull off what is the heist of all heists to date by grabbing the second Clockwerk Lung and the Clockwerk Stomach.

Theft on the Rails

You'll need to play as Sly to start and play this job. You'll need to get on top of the caboose of the nearby train, then press Circle at the Sly icon.

Once you're on the train, equip the Music Box and use it to distract the guards and put them to sleep, so you can wipe them all out with Silent Obliteration. All the while, you'll still need to watch out for lasers and spotlights, so you'll have to move carefully to avoid them. As for the enemies on top of the train cars, you can knock them off the edge.

Once you reach the head of the train, the second Clockwerk Lung is yours.

It's time for Operation: Choo-Choo. To get on Iron Horse #3 and get the Clockwerk Stomach, you'll need the handcart. Murray will push it to the train so that Sly can get inside while Bentley takes care of everything on the outside.

Operation: Choo-Choo

You'll need to play as Murray for the final job of this episode.

Get to the handcart. Once you do, everyone will jump aboard, and Sly will make his way inside. Once again, distract the guards and put them to sleep, and watch out for the lasers and spotlights. Jean Bison will be pacing around on a train car, but he will not notice you before you make it past him...at which point you'll see Neyla again.

This is where Bentley comes in. Once again, you'll be controlling the RC copter. Avoid the bullets and planes as you constantly shoot at Neyla's plane, and you'll take her out.

From here, you're Sly again. Watch out for the eagles, and be ready to crawl under a train on a pipe and jump from one hook to another on the side. After two more guards, you'll get the Clockwerk Stomach...almost. You'll have to shoot down Neyla with the RC Copter again. This time, Neyla will have new bullet patterns, and she will also get underneath you and shoot missiles at you, but she is still beatable as long as you watch where all those red projectiles go. Once you shoot down Neyla a second time, you'll get the Stomach.

The episode ends with three more Clockwerk parts in the Cooper Gang's possession as well as the Klaww Gang's spice distribution throughout North America shut down. Sly also helps Carmelita get away from Neyla's forces.

PrinceWatercress plays Sly 2: Band of Thieves - Part 35 of 49

In this episode, we rob the first train, disarm the second and make preparations for the third.

Ride The Iron Horse

The Hover Pack allows Bentley to hover in the air and extend his jumps. You can also float upwards slowly with this. This does use special weapon energy, so be careful.

For this one, you'll need to play as Bentley, and you'll need to jump onto the trains and get to the door on the caboose.

Once you're in the train, avoid the lasers and the eagles, then be ready to fight enemies. The sleep darts will be useful against the enemies here, and you can also use the Hover Pack to get away from some groups of enemies. At the end of the first train is one of the Clockwerk Lungs.

After completing this mission, you'll be on the third leg of the episode. Now it's time to steal from the other two trains, which is going to be harder. Bentley will have to utilize the RC Copter to take out the air defenses on Iron Horse #2, then it's up to Sly to get inside to get the other Clockwerk Lung. Meanwhile, Murray will have to capture some local bear cubs and put them in a cage containing a pushcart to get their mother to maul the cage and make the pushcart available.

Aerial Assault

For the third leg of the episode, Sly won't be doing any missions at the outset; it's all Bentley and Murray. You'll need to play as Bentley for this one.

You'll need to get to the caboose of another train. You may have to use Bentley's Adrenaline Burst ability to reach it more quickly. Once you're on the train, it's 2D shooter mode. Use the left analog stick or D-Pad to move, press Square to shoot bullets and press X to drop bombs. You'll need the bullets for the planes that fly around, and you'll need the bombs for missile pods that stick out from the side of the train. Watch out for any red circles flying around; those are enemy projectiles.

This job is a really quick one, especially if you can get on the train on the first try.

Bear Cub Kidnapping

You'll need to play as Murray to do this one.

The Berserker Charge is a dash attack that allows Murray to dash into an enemy and deal damage. If you hit a flashlight enemy, it's an instant stun. It does use special weapon energy, for those wondering.

You'll need the handcart stuck in the cage near the safe house to get to the third Iron Horse train, but Bentley can't bomb it and Murray can't punch through metal. Instead, you're going to have to place two bear cubs in the cage so that they start fighting, leading a mother bear to head to the cage and break it in order to get them out.

Use L3 to look for the bear cubs. When you find one, stomp it to pick it up, then take it all the way to the handcart cage and toss the bear in. One of them is out in the open, but the other is in the bear cave. Make sure the big bear inside of it is away from you when you grab the bear cub there, so you don't get mauled. Once both bear cubs are in the cage, the mother will show up and break the cage. From here, you'll unlock another mission with Sly for completing this one.
