DeceasedCrab plays Rockin' Kats (New York Nyankies) - Part 2 of 9

Higher quality graphics and airborne fun! Joy!

Bonus Channel

If you have enough coins, you can play a bonus stage on this channel.

Roulette

Land on a specific number and see what price you get. You might get a one-up, you might get more coins...you might get nothing. You have only two spins, so make them count!

Channel 2: Sky Ace

Alright...to select an item, pause the game and use the D-Pad. Unpause and your item will be selected. Simple enough, right?

The spiked ball punch can't grab onto anything, but it does a lot more damage. It's ideal for bosses, and you can still bounce off the floor with it.

The guys throwing bombs in the first section are simple enough, and be careful when you jump to hit the guys in the planes.

In the second section, you'll take a ride on a plane (piloted by a yellow miniature Willy). Thankfully, you can only jump straight up. You can't move left or right. (Doing so moves the plane.) Punch and dodge your way through pelicans and airplanes, and take out the turrets on the blimp when you see them. The boss will appear, and only then will the game allow you to move a little more freely. Hit the pilot dog and avoid the bosses he tosses. Don't jump off the plane, now. You can hit the red balls away, but you can't do the same with the green ones. Sometimes, he'll stop in the center and slowly float down. Watch out for that.

Jump into the door after you defeat the boss, and you'll enter the third section. More vertical action awaits you! Thankfully, the platforms move as soon as you jump on them, and this section is mercifully short. Just remember to switch to your normal punch glove when you reach this point.

The fourth section is the inner working of the blimp, it seems. Move your way left, punch out boomerang-tossing dogs on floating missiles (wut?) and mines as you swing your way across the pits. Grab the hooks to move over the long pits.

The circling platform has to be grabbed in order to be used. Time it right so that the platform (and Willy) are both positioned where you want them. Jump onto the gray platform and be ready to move quickly to get money bags, a health replenishment....and a 1-Up.

Channel 2 Boss

Switch to the spiked ball fist, if you have it.

This one is pretty simple. Avoid the hands and their attacks, and punch out the dog in the center. You can also destroy the hands to make it a little simpler, if you wish.

If you destroy the hands, they turn into hooks. If you destroy all four of them, he'll be trying to get the drop on you. Thankfully, his changed pattern isn't much harder if you stay at either the left or right side of the screen.

Shop Channel. Again.

Go ahead and buy the jet boots for 400 gold. You'll definitely need them for Channel 3. And if you have the money, go for the twin shot. It works like the regular glove, but the shots slightly extend your range.

DeceasedCrab plays Rockin' Kats (New York Nyankies) - Part 1 of 9

All right, another NES game. This one is known as New York Nyankies in Japan, hence why I have that title in the title for the blog series.

The demo is particularly helpful in showing you how to get Willy (the main character) to do things, especially the jumps that involve hanging off something with the punch glove. You'll be doing this a lot, so watch the demo carefully to see how it's done.

Channel 1: Downtown Street

The first section is simple. The gangsters can simply be punched away. Watch out for the flower pots dropped by the poodles in the windows - you can't destroy them, but you can hold the attack button down to grab them and use them as weapons. Wonderful!

The cans on the root beer advertisements fall down when you get close, so avoid being hit by those.

Be on the lookout for money bags - you'll need those to utilize the services of both the Shop and Bonus Channels. You can also get money from defeating enemies.

To get past the pits in the floor, aim for the left side of the pit and punch it with the punch glove. This will launch you over the pit, which a regular jump will not.

In the second section, get past the first pit by grabbing onto the street light and jumping at the right time. Jump as soon as you start swinging forward.

To get past the chicken, punch it when it's in the air and jump over the egg it lays. You'll soon meet the second form of this boss when it turns purple. This is just a faster version of the first form. Hit it a few more times and avoid the eggs to defeat him.

You'll see a manhole cover with the lid moving up and down. Walk up to it when the manhole is exposed, and you'll enter the third section - the subway. You'll see your girlfriend Jill on a train, then a miniature version of Willy hands you a skateboard. Go all the way to the right, jumping over the green guys on the scooters while hitting the guys sticking their heads out of the windows. There are two money bags and a full health power-up on the top of the subway, so make an effort to give both. Just don't accidentally grab the power-ups and throw them away (which, strangely, you can do).

The next section is the first of quite a few vertical sections. Bounce yourself off the walls with your punch glove and latch onto platforms to get higher. At the top, you'll see a crane hook and a pipe that's different from the rest. Jump off the crane to reach the pipe.

The next section has a black background. Watch the sky to keep from being hit by falling lighting rigs. After this, you'll see the screen where Jill is yelling for help and Willy nags. The girl looks like she's in a sex scene, and what Willy says just makes it even more like one.

Channel 1 Boss

Three lighting rigs will fall. Avoid them (and if you can, catch one of them). A dog in a blue suit and hat will pop out of one of the three holes in the floor to hit you with sound notes. Hit him when he pops up, and after a few hits, more lighting rigs will fall. Keep hitting him and avoiding the lighting rigs (be sure to catch and throw one at him if you can) until he dies.

After this, Jill will thank you for saving her (just like in every level), and the bad guy just won't admit it's over.

Shop Channel

You can buy power-ups for your inventory here. Jet booster shoes, punch power-ups, and even extra lives are yours if you have enough coins.

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 28 of 28

Finally...the final battle between Turok and the Campaigner!

Anyway, the magic wand looking thing that you saw at the end of the last video (and the beginning of this one) is the last piece of the Chronosceptor. The good news is, you can do the most damage on the Campaigner with it. The bad news is, you get only three shots. So make them count.

Before you enter the Campaigner's lair, however, you'll collect every weapon in the game to completely refill your weapons. However, some of them will be pulled out of your hands by the Campaigner if you so much as use them on him, some of the weapons don't even work on him!

The Campaigner is pretty tough. If he's not running around, he'll warp everywhere, sometimes sneaking up on you and doing hellacious damage in only a few melee shots. He could be anywhere, so pay attention!

Tek Arrows, explosive auto shotgun shells, the minigun and the machine gun will work against him, believe it or not. So does the knife.

As the Campaigner's health bar gets shorter, he shrinks in size and also starts limping around. The flesh on his head will also be ripped off, as well. He'll also teleport to the platforms at the top of the arena (where you can't hit him) and shoot projectiles at you at times.

When his health bar is depleted, it's finally the end for the Campaigner! Enjoy your completely anti-climactic ending!

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 27 of 28

Just when you thought you had to fight the Campaigner...meet this thing.

0:11 - Meet the Bionic Tyrannosaur. Watch as Eexecute uses up all his ammo, get pared down to only his knife and almost take this thing down in one life...with 11 health.

Now that's hardcore.

This guy is pretty hard if you're not prepared. This dinosaur has a laser sight, breathes fire, shoots lasers and swings his tail at you if you try to get behind him. He basically makes the other bionic dinosaur enemies you've seen look like hot garbage.
2:48 - This is what happens to you when you die against this thing.
3:33 - Now he's dead.
3:56 - WAIT WHY ARE YOU ENDING THE VIDEO RIGHT HERE WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO...
4:08 - WAIT

WHAT

...FUCK YEAH.

See, I told you I had nothing to apologize for!

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 26 of 28

*insert Swiss German cuss words here*

Brownie points for whoever figures out which blog series this reference is from.

0:50 - This corridor is dark enough to keep you from seeing stuff more than inches in front of you. Don't be surprised if you somehow run into an enemy...
7:48 - Oh, god, not again.
8:42 - Why can't this thing die?!? Well, at least we get our backpack back after all this.
9:21 - C'MON C'MON C'MON GET UP THERE GODDAMMIT MOVE OH WAIT WHAT AREA IS THIS OH GOD FFFFFFUUUUUUUU

Sorry if I couldn't find a lot of stuff worth placing into seperate time-based links, there weren't very many individual moments that were actually cool. I mean, we've found all the weapons save the Chronosceptor...

But I have no need to apologize here, ladies and gentlemen. You see, the next video is going to have something that way than makes up for the lack of content in this blog. You'll have to see it to believe it.

You really can't die on the later levels, especially in Hard Mode. Not unless you want to be extremely screwed over, lacking a backpack and having to find another one, and prone to being killed in mere seconds.

Also, the environments keep changing the further you go. First a lot of narrow corridors, then a bunch of mazes, then a bunch of big rooms. The game is really throwing everything you've experienced from the previous seven levels into one big one for the grand finale. And we're still not done...

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 25 of 28

Watch this. It's gonna be funny. I promise.

0:18 - Laser beams! You'll be seeing these throughout the level for a while.
0:31 - Another jumping section.
1:26 - Another Ultra Health. This level seems to be a bit generous with them...
1:43 - Here's another new thing here...some sort of levitation field. I want one of these in my house. Seriously, who needs stairs?
2:00 - First shanking, then raining beetles, then a shit reference. Eexecute, you funny man, you...
2:29 - This would make a great demotivational poster, believe it or not. I can see it now...Fusion Cannon. Because we're sick and tired of your crap.
6:38 - Eexecute finds the fake wall and gets the Spiritual Invincibility...
7:08 - ...only to accidentally take a huge chunk out of his own health with the Grenade Launcher at the very end.
7:21 - Another warp. This time, it's a lot easier to get to the end.
8:30 - Yet another Ultra Health.

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 24 of 28

This video contains crabs. No, not that kind, you sex-crazed pervs.

0:07 - These green guys are cybernetically enhanced. Too bad they're no match for a Fusion Cannon.
2:04 - A room full of aliens that leads nowhere...
4:00 - Even more robots.
4:47 - Another maze-like set of corridors.
5:18 - A new enemy you won't see anywhere else...mutant crabs.
6:51 - Not one, but two Tek Armors! There's also an Ultra Health, but it can't be grabbed...yet.
7:19 - More crabs, more guns. Sadly, Eexecute misses the warp by mere inches.
9:45 - After defeating another android, we get even more Tek Armor!
10:27 - Now we can grab the Ultra Health.

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 23 of 28

WHY IS THERE SO MUCH RED OH GOD

0:47 - Not only is this new enemy somewhat of a re-skin of the heavily armored humans, it's also immune to the Shockwave. Of all weapons, why?
2:01 - Where's that red light coming from?
3:04 - A trap door. These are littered throughout the Campaigner's lair, but they're easy to spot - they're different from the rest of the floor.
3:10 - Ammo for a couple of weapons, especially the Fusion Cannon, if you need it.
4:45 - Apparently you don't need to be near the aliens in order to get them to play suicide bomber...
4:58 - More robots.

5:48 - More redness. Where is this red light coming from, and why is it so blinding now?

8:31 - After a long, hard climb, Eexecute finds another Ultra Health.

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 22 of 28

No turning back now...

0:21 - Another Triceratops attack.
2:15 - This cave leads into a series of metallic corridors.
2:45 - Hey! Androids! They don't bleed, but they're just as weak! Why they would fall after a quick knife stabbing, we'll never know. However, as you'll find out later, there are some guns you can't use on them, most notably the regular auto shotgun ammo (explosive shells work, though). Guess they're not so wimpy after all...
3:41 - Another warp...as well as hilarious warp course fail.
4:34 - FFFFFUUUUU
5:49 - AND NOT EVERYTHING DIED
7:28 - Even more robots...especially of the yellow variety!

The Story Behind The Comics

Well, this is a welcome surprise.

Turok was originally about two Native Americans being trapped in an isolated valley full of dinosaurs that had never been discovered by humans before, trying to find a way to escape.

It wasn't until Valiant Comics published their own version of the story that everything became the way it was, with bionic dinosaurs being thrown into the mixed and the isolated valley evolving into "The Lost Lands."

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 21 of 28

...and the differences between the two robots rear their ugly heads.

1:08 - Full restoration of ammunition for a few weapons.

2:08 - It takes 24 rockets to kill a yellow robot, but only three grenades to kill a red one? What?

2:52 - Here's a new one for you: turrets. As long as you're in motion, they can't really do much.

3:29 - Eexecute takes a dive.

4:11 - Eight rockets for the red ones as opposed to 24 for the yellow ones? Looks like armor discrepancies, if you ask me.

4:25 - Well, that was easy.

4:48 - Finally! We're out of there!

5:06 - The Level 8 keys when they're all put together.

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 20 of 28

Sandworms, metal, and robots with rockets? What's the worst that could happen?

0:30 - Whoa, sandworms.

0:41 - More of them, except this time, we have to kill them.

1:54 - A sign of things to come...from Hell.

2:38 - You're not hearing things. These guys can self-destruct!

3:03 - After grabbing some Tek Armor, Eexecute just happens to get into a warp. Double your Tek Armor, double your fun!

4:10 - Ultra Health at the end! Score!

4:40 - What has science wrought? Killer robots.

6:02 - A yellow robot that shoot rockets. How wonderful.

8:55 - The last key for Level 8 and the last key of the game. Yes!

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 19 of 28

Lost Lands all up in this video.

0:34 - Wait, that's not lava. Diving in will give you some fusion cannon ammo if you need it.

5:02 - Finally, something awesome to write about. A moving pillar puzzle, this time with lava involved. If I didn't know any better, I'd say that from Level 7 out, there's nothing but bottomless pits and lava.

5:14 - Another pool of fake lava that leads to something...

5:55 - ...and this time, it's a Chronosceptor piece!

6:09 - After consulting his map, Eexecute makes a leap of faith...and it pays off!

7:00 - Alright, back to the moving platforms.

8:20 - Hey, where did that guy come from?

8:49 - The second key for Level 8.

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 18 of 28

Okay, now I'm beginning to like this game...

0:13 - Now that you're in an all new dimension, you'll be dealing with reskinned versions of some common enemies. These guys are just like the regular humans and skeleton design-clad fighters you've seen. The only difference is that they scream really low when they die.

0:40 - That dinosaur has a gun for an arm. THAT DINOSAUR HAS A GUN FOR AN ARM. Also, even the plant life wants you dead. The Lost Land is no fun, but it makes for an impressive level.

1:18 - Aliens with two guns. Sometimes they'll shoot into the air when they die, so don't go near them during their death animation.

3:04 - Fuck yeah, rockets!

3:18 - A bionic triceratops? With rocket launchers? Where do I sign up?!? Anyway, there's also a guy sitting on top of it shooting at you with some sort of pulse rifle, so you'll be doing your fair share of dodging as you shoot rockets at it. When it dies, it squashes the man riding on top of it to death! Awesome!

4:20 - Well, boy howdy! This series keeps getting better! First a bunch of shanking references, then a part in the game where you climb a wall while it rains beetles!

4:29 - The beetles actually climb up with him? Oh, great.

5:14 - More Tek Armor and another new weapon: the Fusion Cannon.

5:45 - Science!

6:10 - AND EVERYTHING DIED

7:10 - Ooh, hoo, hoo...Eexecute somehow gets a sorcerer and a bionically-enhanced dinosaur to fight each other! Place your bets, folks!

8:02 - Eexecute gets impatient and puts them out of their misery. Watch the dinosaur get knocked into the air real good!

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 17 of 28

Two videos for the price of one today. Here's the first one.

First Video

0:39 - Four rockets...could this be for a weapon we don't have yet?

1:00 - The second key in the level.

1:50 - Well, ladies and gentlemen, this is officially the first video I've ever put in the blog that mentions shanking in any way, shape or form.

2:37 - Eexecute goes behind a building to find...

3:02 - ...this teleporter, which leads to...

3:05 - ...this weapon. Say hello to the Quad Rocket Launcher, which basically blows everything up.

3:16 - Another obligatory weapons-related clip, this time from Afro Samurai.

4:17 - Dead again.

4:45 - ROCK ON!

5:06 - Alright, rocking out time is over.

5:24 - Well, that was easy.

6:04 - Eexecute takes a shortcut to the last key...and gets full health in the process!

8:06 - Double kill.

8:57 - The Chronosceptor piece for this level. You could have found this in the last vid, y'know.

9:18 - Time to insert our keys.

Second Video

Here's the second one. Here, Eexecute shows you how to properly prepare for Level 7 in Hard Mode.

One of the big things here is that the blocked-off section of the cave in Level 2 is now accessible thanks to the Grenade Launcher that was acquired later on. Inside is some Tek Armor and a Minigun that you can pick up to completely refill your Minigun ammo.

This makes it more fun to watch, by the way. You're welcome.

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 16 of 28

More treetops madness!

0:05 - This time around, there are enemies in the warp areas.

0:22 - Spinning platforms? Oh, great...I was hoping not to make a "You Spin Me Round" reference here...

I'm using Murder Mix this time, screw it.
Hey, at least they stop spinning once they're up.

0:58 - Ha! I beat you to the reference, Eexecute! At the last platform, there is an Ultra Health, a Large Energy Cell and 15 Tek Arrows! Win!

2:12 - A sorcerer promptly gets owned.

2:58 - Well, that didn't take long.

4:57 - After a strange misfile, this guy falls to his death down the bottomless pit.

7:05 - WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SHIT

10:05 - FUCK YEAH

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 15 of 28

We get to see the real stuff in this level...as well as a new weapon! Play on!

0:15 - By getting under the tree from underwater, we take a lift that takes us up here.
0:53 - Way to spoil the surprises, buddy.
1:24 - By going off the beaten path, we get the Alien Weapon.
1:51 - Another obligatory movie clip.

Tuesday, January 22, 2013

I'm going to save myself some typing by posting this link.

Seriously, it'll tell you more about the game than I can.

Back in part 12 of the original GameTrailers version, zuiop made a mention of the German version replacing all the humans with robots. You can find some footage of the German version here.

Also, go ahead and compare the front box art of the German version of the game box with that of the American/non-German versions. Notice how the blood from the dinosaur's claw swipe is removed...

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 14 of 28

We're halfway done with this? Really?

Funny, the fun's just beginning.

0:06 - Gee, some suicide.
0:45 - OH DEAR GOD WHY IS THAT DINOSAUR ARMED WITH GUNS THIS DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE
1:41 - Looks like we'll have to go down in order to go forward. Along the way, Eexecute finds some Tek Armor.
2:50 - This hole has a portal at the bottom which takes us to another platform.
3:39 - A warp appears, which takes Eexecute to a series of moving platforms surrounded by lava. Looks kinda trippy...even more so if you've dropped acid before playing this level. At the top is some more Tek Armor...if you've gotten the first one to last, this will definitely help save your health.
5:17 - The last few jumps before you can run and gun like normal.
6:35 - Here's a new boy. It's an alien. Yeah, that's what it actually is.

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 13 of 28

Darn it, Acclaim, I'm playing Turok, not Body Harvest!

0:25 - Best use of the minigun so far this series.
2:08 - A Full Health power-up in the nick of time.
3:58 - Finally, another key. After this, Eexecute triggers the switch to uncover the arena where he fights the next boss.
5:00 - The boss chamber. The giant mantis statue explodes, and a real large one sprouts up. This is the Mantis Queen. She tries to hit you with her scythe-like appendages and spits acid at you that will damage you even when it's on the floor. Keep your distance and keep firing. If you have the Shockwave, it makes the battle much easier - just charge to full and fire to take off a meager yet still decent amount of her health. After a while, you'll be chasing it in a circle as it knocks down walls and gets faster as you whittle its health down. She'll also jump onto the walls and stand on them in an attempt to dodge some of your shots, and jump onto the ceiling to send a rain of explosive bombs at you.
8:13 - Heavy metal victory music for the win!
8:20 - Another key for Level 8. We're done here.
8:34 - Time to place the keys in their proper positions and save the game.

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 12 of 28

Flamethrowers, jumping puzzles and Leapers.

Nothing unusual here.

1:22 - After taking forever to get back onto the ledges, Eexecute gets hit by flamethrowers. Ouch.
2:23 - Climbing a wall leads to a hard-to-find teleporter.
2:35 - Another jumping puzzle. Whoopee.
3:43 - Another secret wall that leads to some hidden ammo.
4:47 - A powerful enemy appears from behind you here, so get one of your better guns ready.
5:04 - Eexecute finds the Shockwave Weapon. This weapon freezes enemies before blowing them up...don't you wish Doom had something like this?
5:26 - Another obligatory clip from something other than Turok.
5:54 - The Shockwave Weapon in action...on a Leaper, no less.
8:58 - All aboard the fail train. These platforms are very narrow and are hard to jump onto.

Sunday, January 20, 2013

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 11 of 28

Level 5 has catacombs and labyrinths? Score!

1:03 - New stage hazard here - boiling tar pits.

1:55 - Whoa, a cheat Code!

INFINITE LIVES
FRTHSTHTTRLSCK
(For those that truly suck)
2:12 - And upon jumping into this pool, we see spikes. How lovely.
3:42 - Well, that warp we saw a few vids ago was definitely a good harbinger of what was to come...guess what? More narrow walkways with swinging hooks!
4:28 - Eexecute, you are one classy dude.
5:02 - Well, I'm really glad he has Tek Armor now.
5:56 - Another magic-based bad guy...and this time, not only can he move...
6:07 - ...he can teleport!
6:26 - Another Level 8 key.
6:48 - Spinning two-dimensional gears that cut you if you're not careful! Oh noes!
7:10 - A secret wall that leads to a pulse rifle.
8:08 - Here's another first - you can crawl through this tunnel. Once again, you can only use your knife.
9:20 - At the end of this tunnel is another animated sorcerer...
9:43 - ...and another Chronosceptor piece!

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 10 of 28

A new gun and a Chronosceptor piece. Nothing unusual here.

Wait a minute, this one's only five minutes long.

Oh, and there's a fake wall at the beginning, too.

0:09 - After walking through the wall, we find the Grenade Launcher.
0:13 - Another movie clip here. Sorry, but I had to.
0:47 - Fun with the grenade launcher.
1:06 - Flamethrowers line the walls.
2:10 - The next Chronosceptor piece.
2:48 - A wall made of water. Walking into it turns you around and makes you swim, and leaving it lets you walk around again. Weird.
3:16 - Another jumping puzzle.
3:56 - And we're outta here! Just another jump from platform to platform above boiling lava, and we're back in the Hub.
4:26 - Time to put the keys in...

Saturday, January 19, 2013

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 9 of 28

It's not everyday that I can take an LPer with a cold, cheap shots from enemies, a maze, lava, a ring of teleporters with a one-in-eight chance of picking the right one and dragonflies and have them all in one blog, but today, I do!

0:30 - And the journey continues, this time with a few jumps over a few pillars.
1:03 - After defeating another huge green guy, Eexecute finds a teleporter that takes him into a maze.
3:14 - You have to go through this for the last key. Do not let those things hit you.
5:14 - We see a box of grenades for the grenade launcher. But before Eexecute can grab it, some special friends want to hug him.
6:33 - A bunch of switches to step on! Yay!
6:49 - Here's a new stage hazard: lava. Also, the dragonflies come back to rear their ugly heads.
7:32 - An Ultra Health, Tek Armor and Minigun are up here. Score!
7:56 - Now this sorcerer finally gets destroyed. Afterwards, there's eight teleporters...and Eexecute gets lucky.

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 8 of 28

Leapers are evil.

0:08 - Go behind the portal at the beginning to get some extra power-ups.
1:23 - After taking a teleporter and climbing up a ladder, Eexecute finds a hard-to-find teleporter. Here, he finds some Life Force pieces before making his way back to where he originally was.
1:50 - Eexecute makes this jumping puzzle look hilariously easy.
2:48 - After another teleporter, Eexecute is now back at the beginning of the level. The key he picks up here is for Level 8, hence why it looks different.
3:24 - After crossing a bridge and shooting down some more human enemies along the way, we encounter a new dinosaur which takes a lot of punishment before dying, especially from the Pulse Rifle.
3:55 - Can I help you?
4:01 - Okay, seriously, let's do this. Eexecute takes another leap of faith to a climbable wall.
4:23 - Before grabbing some Tek Armor, Eexecute stumbles upon a warp with some uncanny timing. There's a lot of Life Force Points here, with some of the purple ones guarded by swinging blades. It takes some patience to get through here, as the planks you walk on get thinner as you go.
5:22 - Alright, time to shoot this guy down and get the Tek Armor.
5:35 - A short climb takes you to the Minigun.
5:45 - "It's a damn minigun!" Sorry. I had to.
6:35 - After hitting this switch, the statues come to life. Eexecute tries to get them to fight each other to save ammo...and succeeds! One of the enemies here is new...it's a magic using humanoid enemy that takes a lot of damage before dying.
8:33 - After a teleporter and a few more sorcerers, we get another key, this time for Level 6.
8:51 - That dragonfly is a jerk.
9:05 - Well, shit.

Turok: Son of Stone - Movie Trailer

Here's the trailer for the animated feature Turok: Son of Stone.

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 7 of 28

Hey, a real jumping puzzle! Hey, a boss battle! Hey, a new gun! Hey, watch this video! Hey! Look! Hey! Hey! Listen! Hey!

1:25 - Finally, now we're making progress. After collecting some ammo and some Purple Life Forces, Eexecute goes up these stairs.
1:41 - Here, you hit switches and jump on the platforms that they activate. You only need to jump on the platforms at certain points, though, as the video will explain.
2:10 - There are traps here amongst the right-hand walls that will damage you if you get too close. Stay to the left.
2:31 - Trigger this trap, then grab the ammo, Life Force and Tek Armor behind it! Win!
2:59 - Here's the real jumping puzzle. There's a bottomless pit, small platforms with very tempting pickups, and guys dropping from the sky who want to shoot you into the bottomless pit.
4:18 - A climbable wall! Hop to it!
4:43 - After a death-defying leap, Eexecute kills this guy and gets the third Chronosceptor piece!
4:56 - After stepping on the teleporter, we're back at the entrance to another temple. Eexecute drops down to pick up some more Life Force and ammunition.
5:39 - The portal that sends you to the temple.
5:47 - The arena for the first boss battle. Eexecute dives into the water to find some more Tek Armor.
6:17 - Approaching this big hole in the floor takes you to the first boss. The two jeeps are really easy. Let them circle around you, but don't get near the front of the car unless you wanna get shot. As they do, let loose with the explosive shells.
7:16 - The next part of this boss battle is the Hunter. He throws boomerangs and shoot his Pulse Rifle at you. If you're too close, he'll use a kick attack. He also rolls around which makes it harder for you to hit him. The Auto Shotgun is best for this fight, and the explosive shells do more damage...thankfully, those things respawn every few seconds (which will happen in every boss fight).
8:42 - When the Hunter dies, Turok strikes a pose and the final key pops out of the hole. Grab it and you'll be back in the Hub.

9:34 - Time to put the keys in.

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 6 of 28

SOUND

Y U NO WORK RIGHT?

0:23 - The beginning of the level is a straigh shot to this Level 4 Key.
0:37 - Eexecute takes on a blowdart guy at point-blank range and somehow doesn't get hit.
2:26 - After running to this temple, shoot the guy down and hit the switch to achieve access to another Tek Armor.
2:57 - Another switch, which opens up another path lower in the level.
3:25 - Loud enemy sure is loud.
4:02 - If this was the actual game and not a ROM, you wouldn't be looking through this wall. This is one of the level's secrets, and it takes you to...
5:07 - ...this Ultra Health.
5:27 - Head back to this path, and go straight to the teleporter.
5:55 - A key for Level 5. Wonderful.
6:51 - Don't go in as soon as you reach this building. Instead, jump behind it and grab this Tek Armor!
7:15 - Go downstairs, and fight not one...
7:24 - ...but two of these guys. Thankfully, you'll be able to refill on shotgun shells.
8:54 - After two teleporters and a switch, you end up here.

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 5 of 28

We now enter the Ancient City! What hazards await us in these ruins?

0:50 - Finally, some new enemies! They're like the humans you've seen earlier in the game, but the blowdart guys can prove lethal.
1:06 - Eexecute drops down and jumps on platforms, shooting down more enemies that leap down onto the platforms in front of him. At the end is an Ultra Health power-up, which adds 100 health to whatever you already have.
2:35 - After waiting a couple of seconds here, you can enter a warp. Jump from platform to platform to grab the Life Force Pieces and get out of here.
5:57 - After much shooting and gathering of items, we finally find the backpack. This makes the game much easier, as it lets you carry more ammo for all the guns.
6:36 - Finally! Some more Tek Armor!
7:56 - After shooting down this green guy, we finally have some more Auto Shotgun ammo and more explosive shells.
9:04 - Time to save the game...

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 4 of 28

More running and gunning in Level 2!

You'll love the first minute or so of this. Eexecute runs and guns his way through the level, shooting people with Tek Arrows and getting rid of one of those ugly green guys with three Tek Arrows in record time.
1:16 - THAT'S WHY I SAY HEY MAN NICE SHOT
1:24 - After jumping back to where he was, a warp appears! Joy!
1:30 - Right after grabbing this Full Health power-up, the blades almost cut it back down to half. Don't you just hate it?
2:10 - Now that we're out of that deathtrap, it's time to climb a wall.
2:53 - Why would you do this? Why?
2:59 - Alright, perhaps I spoke too soon! There's a Full Health here!
3:07 - I spoke too soon again. Here's the second Chronosceptor piece!
3:33 - Another green guy to shoot, as well as some more useful pick-ups inside the pools of water.
4:15 - Eexecute drops down to enter this cave.
4:38 - Double kill!
4:46 - You'll have to make a leap of faith here to get to the other side. You'll then get another key to Level 4.
5:41 - When AI goes wrong. Eexecute loses 60 of his health point because one of the enemies miraculously moves out of the way of a falling rock.
5:59 - IT'S A TRAP
6:47 - Finally! A building! Inside is some Tek Armor and the Auto Shotgun.
7:12 - That is a treacherous looking bridge.
8:32 - This deep underwater hole will lead you to the last key in the level.
9:24 - Here's the exit...but wait! The last key is hidden behind it. This one is one of the keys needed for Level 5.
10:10 - After saving his game, Eexecute puts his keys in the Hub.

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 3 of 28

Double the clip length, double the thrills!

0:06 - Upon turning right, Eexecute receives a key for Level 3.

0:25 - Eexecute dives into the water to get the Assault Rifle on the other side.
0:52 - Upon stepping into this teleporter, you'll emerge in a maze. It can be really easy to get lost in this part if you're not careful.
1:28 - Eexecute uses his Assault Rifle and plows through these enemies. This is the best gun in the game so far.
1:32 - Here's the first Chronosceptor piece! You'll need the Chronosceptor to beat the game...but in order to get it, you'll need all the pieces to put it back together again.
1:50 - Eexecute taunts another enemy, this time for re-spawning right in front of him.
2:09 - It's man vs. beetle, after he fails to kill it in one shot with the Assault Rifle.
2:18 - After another beetle, there's another key!
2:44 - Finally! The way out of here!
3:19 - After shooting some men down, it's time to jump into another maze full of beetles.
3:42 - Another jumping puzzle.
3:54 - At the end of this is a teleporter...and the last key in the level.
4:14 - After another teleporter, Eexecute blows a new one into this green guy. He waits until after taking this guy down to get the box of explosive shells.
4:39 - After killing him, we're finally in the Hub. This is where you can go to the rest of the levels in the game. There's also a save point so that you can save your progress whenever you're done with a level. All you have to do is put your keys in the slot and boom, a level is finally accessible.
5:19 - Welcome to Level 2. Eexecute goes to the hill behind the portal to earn the the last of 100 Life Force Points to get a one-up. I am Turok!
5:38 - Stepping on top of this stone causes a few more to rise from the ground. Hey, just like Doom!
6:31 - After grabbing another shotgun for more ammo, climbing up a wall and jumping off a bridge to reach a teleporter, we end up here. Four Purple Life Forces are here, giving us 40 more Life Force Points than we had before.
6:45 - We're back on the bridge. This time, there are bottomless pits, which make this much more unforgiving than in the last level. Better get used to it!
7:43 - We are now in what appears to be a deserted village. The huts have useful ammo, so stash up.

8:12 - Eexecute takes a dive and swims into a cave.
8:53 - At the end of this cave is the first of three keys. This one gives access to Level 4.
9:26 - This video ends near a temple.

Eexecute plays Turok: Dinosaur Hunter - Part 2 of 28

More exploration of the first level! Whee!

What's beyond those stairs? Let's see, shall we?
0:10 - Behind one of the trees is a bunch of pistol clips. Now we have some firepower. You'll be fighting some enemies here...so pump some lead!
0:16 - Eexecute decides to save his ammo and make a quick beeline to this wall, where 30 normal arrows and a box of bullets await him on the other side.
0:38 - What are you waiting for man? Go up to that thing and save your game!

0:48 - Massive change of scenery here. The sky turns evening sunset brown and the water is replaced with lava. There's a teleporter here, which leads to...

1:09 - ...this area. Pick up the explosive shells, whip out the shotgun, and blow through the two raptors as if they're a joke. Gee, if only the rest of the game was this easy...
2:05 - After climbing some ladders and knifing some bad guys, we get the third key for Level 2.
2:18 - After he knifes another guy and climbs a wall, Eexecute taunts this big green guy. Sucks to be him, I guess. After this, there's a cave with a series of tunnels and a bunch of big, jumping lizards.
3:14 - Another teleporter. This cave looks really picturesque...until you run out of it. Eexecutor runs out of dodge, grabs some health, runs through a lake full of raptors and goes straight for the Spiritual Invincibility power-up. This makes the sky act all disco-like and cycle through the color spectrum, while everything else moves in slow motion.
3:57 - The invincibility wears off, and another jumping sequence is underway. This leads to a teleporter, which takes you to...
4:08 - ...this beetle-infested hell. The beetles are really weak; even a knife will kill them in one shot.
4:20 - Time to take a real swim...if you need health, that is. If you're dying for some health, this will bring your health all the way to maximum.
4:44 - Another teleporter in this maze takes you to another cave. At this point, Eexecute's phone goes off after he inserts a few new holes into a lizard... :3
