lukenuetzmann plays Super Empire Strikes Back - Part 2 of 12

This place is cold. Just like the rest of the game. What, you thought this would be easier with all the new gameplay changes and additions? Well, you thought wrong!

Hoth - Second Cave

There will be a Wampa right in front of you when the stage begins, so shoot it down with your gun. Move to the right, and when you get to the platform, stand there so that it lowers. You can now jump to the right without taking damage from spikes...and the Wampa near it will miss you! Ha, ha!

Some of the platforms will lower when you stand on them, so that you can get further into the stage safely. Keep that in mind in case you have no idea where to go in this cave and the shoulder buttons don't seem to help.

There are blaster power-ups here, but keeping your Seekers here is well-advised.

You'll find another area where the air will take you into another cave with hidden power-ups. You'll find Shields in this one, which helps with the spikes for a limited amount of time. The second one, which you'll find about half a minute later, will have a 1-Up and some health tucked in one of the corners. The third one, which is just after the second, has a blaster power-up in case you can't live without your Rapid Ion. (Or Plasma, if you found the other one and got it.)

You'll soon find an arrow pointing up. Go up, then go all the way to the left and double jump. You'll land on invisible platforms, and if you go all the way up fast enough, you'll get two 1-Ups! Sweet!

Go right, and you'll eventually land on a platform that takes you down a slope. Collect as many of the Rebel Alliance icons as you can, even though points don't really matter. You can also cause the platform to rise from the ground by jumping.

Hoth - To Giant Probe Droid

This one is more of the same. You'll be fighting off more wild animals and Probe Droids, and you'll be jumping across even more platforms.

When you fight the giant Probe Droid, destroy the arms before you destroy the Probe Droid, or else it'll keep replenishing its own health every time it takes damage. The lightsaber is best for this one. Just be sure to avoid the ion blasts it shoots downwards. If you have the Plasma gun, though, you can use that to tear this thing apart.

You'll then take another Rebel icon-collecting sled ride before the platform sinks into the water. Leap to the platforms, then continue right and you'll meet an even bigger probe droid. Holy crap, I don't remember seeing that in the movie!

Wait for the probe droid to rise out of the water and attack, then get in the water and shoot at it with the blaster. If somehow you have the Plasma gun, this works very well, as you'll be able to blast it into a junk heap in less than a minute.

When its health runs out, it'll come back from the dead with its lower half removed, revealing a sort of afterburner that burns you if you're too close to its underside. Stay on the platform to let it sink, and you should have enough clearance to shoot upwards at it without taking much damage. All the while, you'll have to avoid the electric eels and their electric current shocking the water.
