In this entry, we finally make it to Satoon, but not all is well in the town.
All maps by zagato blackfist.
West of the cave where Miss Fanny was located is another set of action scenes. Here, your platforming skills will be put to the test, and you'll be jumping from one sinking skull to another, avoiding water and climbing up walls when necessary. Watch out for spiky fish that jump out of the water as you near the end of the first section.
Parts of the bridges in the second section fall away when you put your weight on them. You'll also see Charon on his boat, too. You'll have to keep him on your screen at all times, as he will pass through walls and you'll need him to get through most of the section.
At the end of the second section, use the log platform to rocket over the spikes. You can either choose to play the concentration game at the end and replay the entire area, or you can go straight to the end. Your choice.
You'll eventually be back at the world map. To the north is Satoon.
Satoon
When you make it into town, you'll find out that all the inhabitants are ghosts. You'll also learn that since Project-3F started, King Romel has shut himself in the Ghost Castle, and does not visit the people anymore.
Another ghost will tell you that King Romel has changed for the worse. You'll also learn that King Romel's castle is to the north, and blocked by acidic water that cannot be crossed with a normal boat, and that a strong odor is emanating from it that is making the inhabitants of the town tired. You'll also need a present from Princess Julia to bring to King Romel.
Here, you'll be able to buy the Mystical Sword and Technoglove if you want to upgrade your sword and punch items, respectively. Do yourself a favor: don't but the Mystical Sword, as you will find something stronger than that very, very soon. Also, the item shop here does not sell Dragon Eggs, which is a pain in the butt.
When you go to the end of the bridge north of the town, you will automatically use the kite machine to fly to the other side. From here, you can enter the castle. But before you can get there, you'll have to go through an action stage that takes you over a collapsible bridge before you go through a more technological area where you'll have to jump and climb around while avoiding spikes. Leap off the right edge of the platform at the start of this second stage so you don't jump into the stage. You'll also have to get some parts of a bridge to come down so you can drop down and finish the area, where you can also play a game of Concentration at the end, if you wish.
Finally, you can enter the castle.
Ghost Castle
The path to the right shortly after you go north at the beginning takes you to a guy who tells you that King Romel has recently mastered a magic called "Shadow Shield." Because of that, he avoids light as well as Hyper Vision.
You'll meet two new enemies: ghosts with rings tied around their necks and skeletons wearing armor. The skeletons fight much like the pig enemies and can drop swords, and the ghosts move around in groups of three.
Walking down the stairs leading to the water lets you move around in it. If you reach another set of stairs, you'll be back on dry land. If you get into any fights while in water areas, you will be underwater in the battle scenes, and there will be water physics during these battles that make you slower and more floaty.
Speaking of getting out of the water, when you do that on the north side of the lower area, there will be a break in the wall. Use a Boo Bomb on it to open up a path to the treasure chest. You will want to make your way to the chest that is here, as it contains the Ninja Saber. This is more powerful than the Mystical Sword from Satoon's item shop, and even better, it's free.
Another new enemy you'll meet is the vampire. It's yet another flying enemy that flies around, dives at you and drops bombs downward.
