PrinceWatercress plays Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tournament - Part 7 of 20

Our trek through Eastern Desert reintroduces several mechanics from the first game, including the Boomies, and also introduces the Likuri. Get used to seeing the Boomies and the Likuri...A LOT.

Vision 3-1

Go right. The Nagapoko here will tell you about the Boomies, which explode shortly after they are picked up. Grab the Boomie and double jump for two Dream Stones, then go right and double jump right to the next Nagapoko. Just like in Empire of Dreams, Boomies have timers, and when the timer hits zero, the Boomie explodes and the explosion will do damage. The Nagapoko here will tell you to use Boomies to blow up boulders. Use the Boomie here to blow up both boulders, then get one last one to double jump past the one on the right and get some Dream Stones, and don't forget to take the lower boulder path for a blue Dream Stone. From here, head right to the next section.

Go right, grab the Boomie, go right to the trampoline, hold A to jump left, then throw the Boomie left. Grab the Boomie again, jump to the left, then throw the Boomie left so you can break two boulders and get the first Moon Stone. Go all the way back with another Boomie, but this time, double jump right and get three Dream Stones as you continue right. Go further to the right. The Nagapoko here will tell you that you can use Boomies to blow up arrow blocks so the explosion can travel in the direction that the arrow is pointing when the block in blown up. From the Nagapoko, go up the ladder, grab the Boomie, then throw the Boomie so it stops right next to the down arrow block. When the Boomie explodes, you'll be able to blow up a boulder below. From here, you can drop down and go right to the next section.

Go right, grab the Boomie, go up the air current, go left, then throw the Boomie at the boulder to the left. Go back down and wait for the Boomie to explode, then go back to where the boulder was, grab the up arrow block, go back to the air current, move past the air current with the block to get the blue Dream Stone, then throw it at the wall to the right so it is underneath a yellow switch. Go back to the Boomie and toss it at the up arrow block. This will cause the Boomie explosion to hit the switch and open a door. Ride up the air current again and go right. Get the second Moon Stone. Go back to the Boomie and take it to the wooden crate, then break it with the Boomie to get a blue Dream Stone. From here, head right to the next section.

Go right to the box, and double jump with it or the nearby Flying Muu to make your way to the left arrow block above. Take the left arrow block and place it below where the three Dream Stones are. Use the box and place it on the left arrow block. You'll have to place both the left arrow block and the box near where the Dream Stones in the room where to make a makeshift staircase. From here, grab the Boomie and take it to the makeshift staircase that you just made, and throw it at the boulder so you can get the Sun Stone. From here, you can throw the box to the left, then throw the left arrow block to the left so it lands on top of the box. Throw another Boomie towards the left arrow block so it explodes, hits an upper block in the wall, and then blows up a boulder above, allowing you access to the last Moon Stone. You can now go to the exit door.

Vision 3-2

Go right and talk to the Nagapoko. The Nagapoko will tell you that some blocks can be made bigger or smaller by using the Switch, and that all the purple blocks in the room will change size at the same time when you hit the purple switch. Hit the purple switch to the right, go left, hit the next purple switch, go up the ladder, jump right, grab the Boomie, double jump to lay it next to the purple switch, go back to the right and go up the ladder, then go left and get the three Dream Stones when the blocks change size. Grab the Boomie and throw it to the left so it hits the boulder, and wait for the Boomie to explode. Take another Boomie, go right and lay it near the purple switch, then go right and wait for the big purple block to turn small. Go right to the next section.

Go right, and rearrange the down arrow block and the box so that the box is on top of the big purple block below and the down arrow block is used to double jump to the right. Go right, avoid the Spiker, grab the Boomie, throw the Boomie left, follow it and place the Boomie above the down arrow block to hit the purple switch below. Use the box to double jump to the switch so you can hit it one more time. Go left to get the first Moon Stone, then take the box and double jump to the right to get a blue Dream Stone, then go back down and go right for two Dream Stones and the exit to the next section.

The Nagapoko here will tell you about floor switches which will open doors as long as weight is placed upon them with something like a box, an enemy or even Klonoa himself. Go right, grab the Goomi, jump right, grab the Boomi, go back down, place the Boomie on the floor switch and get the second Moon Stone. Go right, hover to the purple switch and hit it. Go right and grab the Mummy Moo, double jump above the purple switch and hover to the right. From here, hover to the right, grab the Mummy Moo, double jump over the switch and hover to the right again. You should be able to get two Dream Stones. From here, hit the switch with yet another Mummy Moo. Go left through the pinball doors, but don't touch the Boomie. Instead, jump and hover over it. You should now be able to get the box at the start of the room. Place it on the floor switch. From here, grab the Boomie and take it to the right, then throw it at the boulder and wait for the Boomie to explode. This will net you two Dream Stones and the Sun Stone. From here, grab the Mummy Moo one more time, and this time, double jump to the right and go right to the next section.

Go right, and stay on the floor switch that you see. Wait for the Mummy Moo to approach you, then grab it and double jump to the right onto another floor switch. Double jump with the Mummy Moo when it approaches, then grab the Boomie when you land on the next floor switch and it approaches you. Go back down to the first floor switch you triggered and lay the Boomie on it, then go right, get the Mummy Moo out of the way and throw the Boomie all the way to the right to break the crate that it lands on. When the Boomie explodes, you can go all the way back up and double jump left with the Boomie for a Nagapoko and the last Moon Stone. From here, you can grab another Boomie, lay it at the floor plate at the top of the room, go all the way to the right, wait for the Boomie to explode, then grab another one and double jump upwards to get the blue Dream Stone and get all the Dream Stones for the level over and done with. From here, you can leave a Boomie at the bottom floor plate, go down where the crate was and enter the exit door.

Vision 3-3

The Nagapoko here will tell you about the Likuri. If you throw the Likuri at a monster, it will absorb the monster, change color and come back to you. The Likuri is yellow at first, but it will be flashing yellow after absorbing one enemy, blue after absorbing two and red after absorbing three. (It should be mentioned that the Likuri must be thrown in order to absorb enemies; throwing enemies at the Likuri does not work at all.) By throwing a certain color Likuri at a certain color crystal, you can get rid of the crystal and open up a path. It is simple here at first, but it gets more complex later on. The second Nagapoko will tell you about the Likuri color changes and the Likuri boulders. With a blue Likuri, you can get the blue Dream Stone at the beginning. Don't forget that you can double jump to throw the Likuri at an enemy. Also, absorbed enemies don't re-spawn until you throw the Likuri away. It shouldn't be too hard to get the blue Dream Stone and the exit to the next section.

Go right, grab the Flying Moo, double jump right, go all the way to the right past the Spiker, grab the Flying Boomie, throw it to the left, grab the Likuri and use it to absorb all the nearby enemies that you need. This is the easiest way to get a red Likuri that you can take back down and throw into the red crystal to get the first Moon Stone and the path to the next section. As for the yellow boulder, you'll need to double jump with the Likuri so it hits the Flying Moo and you're hovering to the left, so you can get over to the yellow boulder and throw the Likuri at it for three Dream Stones. As for the blue crystal and the blue Dream Stone behind it, you'll need to absorb the Mummy Moo and then have the Flying Boomie nearby to absorb with a double jump so you can hover to the right to the blue crystal and have a blue Likuri waiting when you land. The ladder leading down to the next section is finally waiting for you, so go ahead and climb down it.

The Nagapoko here will tell you about the disappearing blue platforms that disappear as soon as you get back on. Jump across the first two platforms, grab the Boomie, toss it to the right when the Spiker is up and out of the way, walk off the edge so the blue platform on the way disappears, grab the Boomie again, throw it to the left while the blue platform is still gone, go down the hole before the blue platform comes back, make your way to the right while grabbing four Dream Stones, lay the Boomie on the floor switch, hover to the right, grab the Likuri, throw it at the Boomie, go back up the blue platforms, go left through the pinball doors, throw the Likuri at the Mummy Moo, then throw the Likuri at the blue crystal further to the left to get the Sun Stone. Go back to the floor switch to go down, get a message from Chipple from Nagapoko if you want (he thanks you for shortcut tips, even though I don't think Klonoa gave him any), then go right and get the second Moon Stone.

The Nagapoko here tells you about the Glibz, a shell-shaped enemy that shoots projectiles at you. From here, go up, watch out for the projectiles from the Glibz above, then grab the shooter enemy as you jump to the right, go right, and double jump to the ladder above. Climb up the ladder, then go to the left side of the flower po and push it to the right so you can jump up and grab the Glibz. From here, move the flower pot all the way back to the left and place the Glibz in the flower pot with a double jump. From here, you can double jump to the blue platform on the far left, grab the blue Dream Stone, then hover to the right, grabbing Dream Stones as you jump your way to the right off the blue platforms and head right to the next section.

Go up the ladder, grab the Likuri, jump to the right, make a regular jump to the green platform going up and down, jump right, throw the Likuri at the Glitz, go back onto the platform, make regular jumps to the left, double jump to the left right above the Glitz, make jumps to the right while jumping over Spikers, throw the Likuri to the right once you reach solid ground, go right before the Likuri returns to you, then throw the now-red Likuri at the red crystal to get the third and final Moon Stone. As you do all this, you'll be picking up the last of the Dream Stones. From here, the exit door is directly below the green platform in this room that moves up and down. Get there. You're done.
