Well, now we've done it. We ended up slaves on a sandship only for the sandship to be captured by the Empire. And now Geshtar's here, too! Joy!
There's nothing you can really do, so go up to the north end of the ship. You'll soon face Geshtar himself - or rather, the Mech Rider - in a boss battle.
The Mech Rider will try to run you down, and he will also shoot missiles at you and cast Speed Up on himself. Use Speed Down to slow him down and make it easier to hit him from the side, and use Thunderbolt and Air Blast to deal some big magic damage.
You want to ensure that you or your allies don't get knocked unconscious a lot, as that will limit how far you can go. You can only stray so far from one or both of your party members, which can be a bit of a drag if you're playing by yourself.
By defeating the Mech Rider, you'll get the Whip's Orb. This lets you upgrade to the Chain Whip, which is effective against slimes and lizards.
After the battle, you can talk to people. If you talk to Meria, he will find out that you are friends of Jema and apologize for Morie's actions. If you talk to the soldiers, you can find out that you can go north to Kakkara.
One of the soldiers will ask you if you are leaving. If you say yes, you'll be back in the desert with instructions to head North. Head north to go to town and watch out for the Spider Legs.
By talking to the people here, you'll find out that Salamando, the guardian and keeper of the Fire Palace, is gone along with the palace's seed, and that everybody is desperate for Water. One person will tell you that there is a town with nice weather in the Ice Country. You can also talk to Watts in the upper-right corner of
The Mayor will be near the empty pool, and he will tell you that the Fire Palace has been stolen.
Get three Raccoon Caps, three Golden Vests and three Silver Bands from the merchant near the Cannon Travel Center to the east for the journey ahead. From the Cannon Travel Center, you can either go back to Matango or go ahead to the Ice Country. We'll be going to the Ice Country.
Todo Village
If you talk to the people here - who are all walruses - you'll find out that you have landed in Todo Village and that it is getting unbearably warm. Another townsperson will tell you there is a strange old man in the nearby Crystal Forest, and that a paradise is somewhere in the Crystal Forest.
The armor in the armor shop is the same stuff you could have bought in Kakkara, so if you missed out before using Cannon Travel, you'll have another chance to get it all here.
Crystal Forest
The Howlers can cast Speed Down on you to slow you down. Hit them either from a distance or with powerful strikes, and keep in mind that they can hit you as well as they can run.
