In this entry, we get our wind and thunder spells before heading to a town full of Mushbooms.
The Lode Boomerang slows enemies down.
If you talk to the Elder in the Dwarf Village, he will give you the Midge Mallet. This item can be used infinitely to cure the Midget status and can also be used to cast the yourself any time you want, if you so choose. You can use the Midget status to cast spells faster and chain cast to power up the elements. If you haven't gotten it yet, you can use the Cannon Travel Center at the southeast corner of the summer area to go right back to Gaia's Navel.
Southeast of the Spring area is a forest maze. Going through here takes you to Matango. Using Analyzer on the orb near the entrance will tell you that Sylphid's magic will work. Have the Sprite cast Air Blast on the Orb to open up the path.
Popoie's (The Sprite's) Sylphid spells are as follows:
Thunderbolt: Zap enemies with a bolt of lightning. (4 MP)
Air Blast: Shoot enemies with discs of air. (2 MP)
Silence: Confuses enemies. (2 MP)
Purim (The Girl's) Slyphid spells are as follows:
Analyzer: Analyzes HP and MP of enemies, as well as how many experience points they will give you and what elemental they are weak to. Also analyzes orbs and tells you which elemental's magic will work on it. (1 MP)
Balloon: Balloons enemies, stunning them temporarily by putting a balloon on their head. (2 MP)
Thunder Saber: Gives weapons the power of thunder. (3 MP)
The Crawlers can cast fire spells and perform fire attacks if given a chance, and they can also roll into you and deflect physical attacks by rolling into a ball. You can Tangle them and slow them down with the Long Bow if you have it.
There is another Cannon Travel Center in the forest maze leading to the cave opening that takes you to Matango. Inside the opening are Kimono Birds, who will cast Thunderbolt and Air Blast in addition to spawning Pebblers. They are weak to Gnome. As for the stalactites on the floor, destroy them with the axe. The opening on the other side leads to Matango.
Matango
There are Mushbooms here, but they are actually friendly and will not attack you. You'll find out that they are a peaceful people and that King Truffle should be able to help you if you can meet them. Thankfully, Fung Castle is not very far away, and you can buy items and armor, forge weapons and even sleep at an inn here.
The Faerie Walnuts will finally be available at a reasonable price here, so if you need some, buy them here. The Steel Cap is armor for Randi, while Purim and Popoie can equip the Quill Cap. The Fancy Overalls and the Wolf's Band are for everyone, so equip everyone with the armor here.
By talking to the people here, you'll learn that a white dragon was spotted nearby, and that a Mana Beast took on the fortress. King Truffle will call you the Mana Knight, then tell you about the legend of the Mana Knight, mentioning that the Knight and a dragon will save the world. From here, he will let you leave through the door across from the inn and let you take the treasure in the bedroom east of the throne room. If you go in there, you'll find a chest containing a Javelin's Orb. This will allow you to forge the Javelin into the Light Trident, whih is effective against animal, bird and beast-type enemies.
