In this episode, we get our second magic elemental, then head to the ruins in Pandora when Jema suddenly goes missing.
After the battle, Gnome will apologize for his actions and thanks you for defeating Fire Gigas. After Popie threatens to throw him to Randy to beat up, Gnome gives Purim and Popoie his powers, then calls Purim Popoie's wife, much to Purim's chagrin. From there, you can press B on the Mana Seed to bring your Mana Power up to Level 2. Popoie will suddenly remember that he lives in the Upper Land forest, and that he has to return there. We won't be able to get there for a while, though.
If you head to the Water Palace and talk to Luka, she will tell you that Jema has not returned from Pandora yet, and that something may have happened to him.
Purim's Gnome spells are as follows:
Stone Saber: Gives weapons the power to petrify temporarily. (4 MP)
Speed Up: Increases an ally's agility and evade percentage. (3 MP)
Defender: Increases an ally's defense. (2 MP)
Popoie's Gnome spells are as follows:
Earth Slide: A powerful boulder that crushes enemies (3 MP)
Gem Missile: Not as powerful as Earth Slide, these gem projectiles still pack a punch. (2 MP)
Speed Down: Decreases the enemy's agility and evade percentage. (1 MP)
Pandora and the Ruins
Phanna will be walking around near the ruins entrance at this point. Phanna is usually in one of the homes in Pandora before this point, and you can initially meet her that way. If you talk to her now, however, she will be zombified like some of the people in town. She will then disappear. Head south to the ruins, and head to the entrance ant talk to Phanna. She will tell Purim that she is going on a one-way trip, then hits Purim before entering the ruins. Purim knocks the guards out of the way, and from here, you can now enter the ruins.
You'll meet some new enemies here. The Tomato Men can cast Fireball on your party, cast Defender on other enemies, slow your party down with Speed Down and spawn Zombies, and the Zombies can Poison you. Do not use HP Absorb on the Zombies; you'll lose HP if you do that due to the Zombies being undead enemies. The rooms to the side will contain Evil Swords, which will cast Moon Saber on themselves and give your party a hard time.
The Tomato Men are hard to hit unless you use spells or charge up your attacks, despite the fact that they do not have a lot of HP.
