HCBailly and JB play Secret of Mana - Part 7 of 41

Now that we have Watt's Axe, we can head through the Haunted Forest and save Dyluck.

Haunted Forest

Now that you have Watt's Axe, you can break the skull pillars blocking the path and continue with the rest of the Haunted Forest. Before doing that, go to the right and take the teleporter glyph at the end. You'll enter another area where you can walk onto another glyph and open up the path further into the forest.

The bow and arrow can be used to hit enemies on platforms and different levels, and will be the only one that can do it until you get another weapon.

The Eye Spy not only spawns Chobin Hoods, it can cast Cure Water on enemies to heal them and also turn you in a Moogle. In Moogle form, you cannot attack physically, and you can only cast magic. You can use a Medical Herb, or you can wait for it to go away on its own.

You'll see a pair of poles on the way to Elinee's castle. If you took the teleporter to the west of where you landed near the Water Palace and met Dyluck, you would end up on the other side. You'll need an item you don't have yet to utilize them.

Elinee's Castle

You'll eventually make it to the castle where you will be greeted by a Werewolf. This is the Werewolf enemy mentioned a few entries back, and these guys will hit you wish dashing spin kicks and elbow strikes. They are the most powerful enemies in the area, and if Purim left at Gaia's Navel, you would have been forced to face two of them on the way to the skull pillars to get Purim back in your party. They can cast Lunar Boost on themselves to boost their attack and defense, and they can also cast Moon Saber on themselves to make their attacks cause crazy things to happen.

The square tiles with the blue circle on them are floor switches that open doors. There are also stone gray floor tiles with glyphs on them that open doors, and you'll need them to open doors as well.

Some of the chairs are possessed and are actually enemies, but if you open the character rings, the enemy chairs will turn black-and-white, immediately outing them.

Along the way, you'll have to free the soldiers, and you'll find out that not only are a few of the soldiers zombies, but that Elinee has Dyluck captive and that you'll need all three party members to hit the nearby switch to open a bridge.

The Cup of Wishes will be a useful item to have, as using one will fully revive a defeated character.
