PrinceWatercress plays The Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX - Part 4 of 22

Now that we've cleared the Tail Cave, we can take care of a few things and explore more of the island before heading to the next dungeon.

There's nothing else to do, so go through the Mysterious Woods and head to Tal Tal Heights. Since we now have the Roc's Feather, we can jump over the pit and get that Heart Piece we couldn't get before on the path to the Witch's House. To the north is the swamp, and from here, you'll find the cave where Bow Wow is being held. Fight off the Moblins like you always have. To beat the big Moblin, dodge or block the arrows, and when he charges at you, get out of the way and hit him after he runs into the wall. Eventually, you'll  beat him, and you'll be able to free Bow Wow and take him with you by touching the rock that Bow Wow is tied to. With Bow Wow in tow, you'll be able to get rid of the occasional enemy by having Bow Wow eat them.

You don't have to do this, but it does help you figure out what to do next. When you free Bow Wow, head back to Madam Meow Meow's house in the village. Madam Meow Meow will tell you to take Bow Wow for a walk. If you go to a phone and talk to Ulrira, however, he will tell you to take Bow Wow into the Goponga Swamp to the north, as the flowers are his favorite thing to eat. This will help you get into the second dungeon of the game.

East of the cave is the Camera Shop, which is only available in the DX version of the game. Here, you can take a photo to start the photo album, which then opens up the ability to get the rest of the photos in the game. These will be brought up eventually. Also, if you have Bow Wow, the owl will be to the east of the Camera Shop to tell you to go to Goponga Swamp.

Also, you can now enter the cemetery. Be careful against the ghosts, because their touch can hurt. The Whirlwind Slash will be able to make short work of them. North of the cemetery is some desolate woods. You won't be able to hit the ravens that try to divebomb for you unless you get near them and cause them to fly out of the trees as a result.

Now that you have the Roc's Feather, you can meet Mr. Write near the northwest exit out of the Mysterious Woods. He tells you that he never receives a response from writing letters. You'll be able to help him out later. To the north, you'll fight more Like-Likes, and there is a cave that you won't be able to do everything in...yet.

When you enter the swamp, just hang around the flowers and Bow Wow will eventually eat any flowers near you. This will allow you to enter the second dungeon. There will be piranhas that jump out of the water to attack you, and there will be big flowers that spit projectiles. Thankfully, Bow Wow can eat the big ones.
