PrinceWatercress plays Mega Man 6 - Part 2 of 8

In this episode, we take on Flame Man and Tomahawk Man in our attempt to get through the game as easily as possible just like we did in the previous games.

Flame Man

The shallow water in some spots are actually oil.

The Mettaurs are back! Yay! You should know how to handle them by now: shoot at them when they stop hiding in their hats, and don't get shot yourself!

The spinning red robots that fly through the air stop and shoot flames downwards. If you're in those oil pits, the oil will ignite and the fire will kill you. If you shoot them without killing them, they'll lower towards you as they fly to the other side of the screen.

The robots that are low to the ground that shoot energy balls at you when their head cavity is opened can be taken out with a fully charged Mega Buster shot. When that happens, you'll knock them backwards. If they land head first into an oil pit, the monster will then act as a makeshift raft. Repeatedly jump on the switch on top of your new raft to move. The direction you go will depend on which direction you're facing.

The robots that are low to the ground, can't be killed by normal means and rush towards you when you're at their level are green rectangles with a red circle in the center with two spikes on top and two jet turbines on each side. Once again, charge up your Mega Buster and shoot at them with it to temporarily stun them. The Power Armor will destroy them, but you won't have them until later.

The fat robot that stands there with the flame on its head shoots fire at you much like the robots with the head cavity we saw earlier. Unlike the other one, this one involves fire.

Flame Man has two attacks: shooting short columns of fire out of the ground towards you which span between him and the wall, and the ability to shoot individual fireballs. You can stand between columns, and if you can get where the columns will be down to a science, you can deal with them very easily. You can jump over the fireballs.

You cannot hit Flame Man as he is shooting out the columns. Otherwise, blast away. He can be easy to take out with the Mega Buster if you know what you're doing. If that doesn't work, use Wind Man's Wind Storm.

Beating Flame Man gives you the Flame Blast (F.Blast). It shoots a ball that turns into a column of fire. The column will come out sideways if it hits a wall. You'll also get the Rush Power Adaptor, another armor which allows you to break the cracked blocks by charging up the attack. Just like the Jet armor, the Power armor does not allow you to slide.

Tomahawk Man

The cowboy robots just stand there and shoot bullets at you. They're easy to take out.

To take out the Mettaur dispensers, shoot at the area between the globe full of the Mettaurs and the part where they come out. The Mets will jump towards you and shoot as they do so, but they're easy to deal with.

Hit the drill tanks with a fully charged Mega Buster shot to make getting rid of them easier.

After you meet Eddy, you'll see a pretty nice sunset. The ladder leads a large health pick-up, a large weapon pick-up and an Energy tank.

Shoot down the second Mettaur dropper from the right. You'll still have to deal with the Mettaurs, but the dispenser will be easier to hit.

After this, you'll soon see an upper path and a lower path. The upper path doesn't lead to anything that we can get at the moment. The lower path also leads to something, but we won't cover it just yet.

The flying robots that look like knight's helmets as well as the skull robots on spider legs will both track you. The former shoots downwards while the latter runs into you. (You'll only see these enemies on the upper path.)

Regardless of which path you take, you'll face Tomahawk Man.

Tomahawk Man has two attacks: shooting feathers from his headdress and the tomahawk throw. The feathers go straight ahead while the tomahawks go into an upward arc shortly after he throws them. You do not want to be in the air when he throws these. He also jumps around, too.

When he's not attacking (or if he's in the air), use the Plant Barrier against him to do the most damage. You won't be able to shoot it, and it only disappears when it hits Tomahawk Man, so keep your health high so you can kill him off with it.

If you're in close when he does the feather tossing attack, you'll be able to jump clear over all three of them if you time it right. Otherwise, use your slide.

You might need some energy tanks for this one.

Beating Tomahawk Man will award you with the Silver Tomahawk (Silver.T). If you took the lower path near the end, you'll also get Beat B-Parts. There are four parts in four stages, and if you beat the "real" Robot Master, you'll get the Beat Part and you won't have to worry about the fake battle.
