PrinceWatercress plays Mega Man 6 - Part 6 of 8

We finally meet Mr. X, and...it's THAT guy. Was there ever any doubt?

Mr. X Stage 3

If you keep to the left side as you start climbing, you'll be able to get an energy tank. Of course, you'll have to climb back down and get on the main path.

A lot of the enemies here come from Flame Man and Yamato Man's stages.

The sets of two platforms work like a see-saw. Stand on one, and it will slowly lower as the other slowly rises. Be careful when using the second salvo of these, as there are spikes on the ceiling and it makes it harder to use the Jet Adaptor in case you accidentally screw up.

The boss here is a giant robot controlled by a Mettaur in a machine. Sometimes the robot will rush toward you, but never quite reach the left side of the screen. This gives you less room to maneuver around and avoid the fireballs that bounce around, but it's not insurmountable. Use Blizzard Attack and hit the Mettaur, and don't jump. Jumping makes it harder to avoid the fireballs that bounce to the left. Just make sure that one of the snowflakes hits the Mettaur.

Sometimes the fireballs will be shot straight out. You can just stand under those and plug away at the encased Mettaur with Blizzard Attack.

Mr. X Stage 4

Eggs will come out of the columns that look like black and gold drums stacked on top of each other. When that happens, birds will eventually hatch out of them and come after you. It's like Capcom made an archenemy for Beat but it fell through and they became just normal enemies. Still an interesting enemy idea, though.

You'll eventually have a choice between two paths. It doesn't really matter which one you take, since you won't miss much regardless. One path has the ceiling walkers from Centaur Man's stage (and a random 1-Up), while the other has the cowboy robots from Tomahawk Man's.

The boss is Mr. X in a swinging spiked ball. Every so often, the spiked ball shoots out a purple energy ball that splits into two and travels across the ground. Jump over the energy ball, stay on one side of the screen and keep hitting the spiked ball with Flame Blast.

You'll then find out that Mr. X is really Dr. Wily in disguise, but you could probably tell before he ditched the Mr. X disguise. Now you'll have to go after Dr. Wily...again.
