PrinceWatercress plays Tuk Goes To Town

Before there was Little Critter, there was Tuk. Tuk not only had some books, he also had a few educational games on C64. This is one of them. I liked this.

In this game, Tuk goes to town, and you get to do things on the way there as well as in town.

You start at Tuk's house. You pick a way to go to town, and you'll get there. Whether it be by raft, by train, by car or some other vehicle, you'll get there. You have eight ways to do.

On the way, you'll go to two places that you'll be able to pick out of four: the farm, the fair, the forest and the seashore. In these two places, you'll be able to pass by them and also play games in those locations. The games are pretty simple and teach not only the bare basics about the letters of the alphabet, but also spelling skills, learning the names of things such as animals and things at the seashore, waiting for cars to drive by before crossing the street, remembering where things are hidden, telling shapes apart, matching shapes and identifying parts of shapes. All the while, children will learn the names of things and how to spell them. There is even a dress-up game in the clothes store!

You'll then return to Tuk's home, where you can start all over again.

All in all, this is a pleasant little game for the Commodore 64. Thankfully, controlling the game is easy and is done just by pressing letters and numbers on the keyboard when applicable, and the game as a whole is rather pleasant to look at and listen to. All in all, this is a fun game to introduce small children to the micros with.
