PrinceWatercress plays Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus (GBA) - Part 20 of 25

It's time for the final battle with Stockman and Shredder...but we're not done yet...

New York 4

Turtles required for this stage: Any

For this stage, you're back on the hoverboard sled thing. The first enemy is a boss. It will shoot two three-way shots, but you can easily stay in the air and hover by throwing multiple shurikens as quickly as possible to defeat them. When you see the red aiming laser, get below the boss and throw as many shuriken upwards as you can. The pattern will then repeat.

You'll be able to refill your health before the second boss. The second boss hops up and down twice, then jumps at you, Get under it, then get under it again when it jumps back to where it originally was to shoot a whole bunch of balls at you mortar-style. The best times to throw as many shurikens at the boss as possible it is during the two hops straight up or when it shoots the balls at you. When you beat this boss, stay all the way to the left so you can get the ten crystals.

Turtles required for this stage: Any (though I use Mikey)

Now you'll be fighting Stockman in an android body while going between the two floors of this area.
Go up first and get the weapon, then catch up with Stockman and beat the crap out of him before he can get to a teleporter. Mikey is perhaps the best person to do this with, as with other enemies in this game, you can throw the nunchaku at him, knock him back as the nunchaku shoots forward, then hit Stockman again with the nunchaku on the way down as the nunchaku returns to you.

If Stockman gets to a monitor and uses it, he will be unleashing Robo-turtle enemies on a floor that doesn't have one. Use this as an opportunity to get some free hits on Stockman. While you should focus on Stockman, the robo-Turtles can get in your way, and if you can rid of some temporarily, that definitely helps.

Once you beat Stockman, get all ten of the crystals that come out of him. Stockman will escape, and you'll need to follow him. From here, Stockman is a joke. Just hit him with charge attacks and you should be able to destroy him. It's super easy with Mikey, as you can just throw the nunchaku at Stockman three times before he can do anything.

Now you have all the crystals in the game, which leads to one final battle with Shredder...

Turtles required for this stage: Any (although I use Mikey)

Get your weapon immediately. When Shredder shoots a fireball at you, strike it to send it back at him to do some damage. After three fireballs, Shredder will float in the air. Keep sliding from one side of the room to the other to avoid all the fireballs he shoot at you. After three fireballs, he goes back to the ground pattern.

After you take down a third of his health bar, he will create a clone of himself. The fake one will have a lighter hue than the real one, so get both Shredders on one side and hit the real one. Sliding from one end of the room to the other to stay away from either Shredder so you can hit either of them from a distance works especially well here. You can destroy the fake Shredder, but he will soon come back.

Once you get Shredder down to a third of a full health bar, duck to avoid the beams he shoots at you while staying super close and hitting him with a standing attack combo. If you're close enough to him that the beam doesn't hit you while you're doing the combo, you're doing it right. After three beams, he goes up to the air to fire more beams. Keep sliding from one side of the room to the other to avoid the three beams he shoots at you from the air, then he will go back to his ground pattern for this phase.

Once you beat Shredder, you're not done yet. A robot head will pop out, and you'll have to race it to a teleporter pad. The beams from the puzzle platforming stages in this world come back to become a nuisance here, as do the conveyor belts and the bars you have to swing across to avoid the energy beam floors. If Shredder's weird robot heads makes it to the pad first, you'll have to replay this. If you make it first, however, you've won!

We're not done yet, though. Stay tuned for Battle Mode and Race Mode!
