PrinceWatercress plays Tomba! - Part 8 of 22

In this entry, we explore the Haunted Mansion and try to get everything that we possibly can from here at this point in our journey...and there's a good bit we can get here!

Now that we've fixed the pump, we can now explore the Haunted Mansion.

Close to the start is a room with an evil pig enemy and a villager. Beat up the pig, then talk to the villager so he can return from trying to fix the pump and get the Small Key. This lets you open doors with small key holes.

Along the way, you'll want to break all the eggs that you see. This will break the magic barrier on one of the eggs that is in a room in the mansion, and by breaking all those eggs, you can break that egg and complete the "Break The Magic Egg!" objective.

There are five Large Key Panels that you'll need to find. This will allow you to fill up a big key imprint in the wall, and if you put all five panels into the big key panel, you'll get a Large Key and complete the "Painting of a Big Key?" objective. All of the panel pieces are in the mansion, thankfully. Once you put all the Large Key Panels in, you'll complete that objective and get the Big Key.

There is also a bird bath-like pool near the village entrance. If you stay in it, you'll eventually completely refill your health.

The wooden double doors leads to the 1,000 Year Old Man, but he is blocked by a wall of fire. You'll have to get rid of that fire wall to talk to him some more, but if you do it now, you'll complete the "The 1,000 Year Old Man?" objective. To help him, you'll have to destroy all the eggs that you see here, including the one with the barrier on it to break the powers of the pig that trapped him. This triggers the "Break The Magic Egg!" objective.

If you climb down the gem, you'll find a red gem, but you won't be able to pick it up unless you have maximum fire experience on the red experience bar. As for the other experience bars, green is for wind, while blue is for water. By filling the bar up to Level 10, you'll finally be able to grab it. You've got the Jewel of Fire, which gives you the power of fire when equipped. Just equip it, then press Square to be surrounded by fire. This will make you temporarily invincible as long as you have energy on the red experience bar. When the power runs out, just wait a little while and your energy on the bar will recharge so you can use it again. This item will be very useful in the Evil Pig Battles.

There is a room with a elevator that takes you to another side of the mansion. Equip the Funky Parasol to get the Key Panel that is here, then get to where the platform stopped to find a door with a large key hole to open up the "The Large Key Door" objective.

There is a Smile door and a door with a key hole next to each other on one side of the mansion. You can now open the keyhole door now that you have the Small Key, and that completes the "The Small Key Door" objective and nets you access to the Mystic Egg. As long as it is glowing, you can't break it. Go break all the other eggs first. In the meantime, you can keep going in, defeating the pigs and going back out and back in to fill up the red experience bar.

The stone steps lead to the Mushroom Forest. Now that you've taken this exit, you can now go to the Mansion from the Forest. This will make it easier to get a Laughing Mushroom and open that Smile Door. Inside is one of the Large Key Panels. Remember this room for later, as you'll be in here again. There is also a Frown Door on another side of that mansion that requires a Crying Mushroom, and facing it opens up the "Cry Baby" objective. Crying in front of the door completes that objective.

There is a room with a 100 Year Old Chest with two pieces of fruit inside and a door made of hay. Remember this room for later.

By talking to the 1,000 Year Old Man after breaking the magic egg, you'll learn that the Evil Pigs use gold - and lots of it - to power their magic and curse entire areas of the land. You'll also learn that they may be gathering a lot of gold in one place. Wherever the gold is, Grandpa's bracelet should be there. This will complete the "Break The Magic Egg!" objective, and you'll also get the 1,000 Year Old Key that opens all the blue chests. He'll then tell you about the 1,000 Year Old Chest in Phoenix Mountain, and says it contains something useful. He also tell you that there is a way to explore the Lava Caves, and by searching long and hard, you can find the Green Evil Pig Bag, which will reveal the gate leading to the Green Pig's lair. He also tells you to go get the Jewel of Fire, which we've just done.

Using the Jewel of Fire on the door made of hay will burn the door and reveal a 100 Year Old Chest with two pieces of Cheese, a 1,000 Year Old Chest with a Lunch Box...and Yan. Talk to him to continue the hide-and-seek game.

The Stone Boomerang is in a blue chest. Getting it does two hits to an enemy instead of one and makes it easier to stun enemies. By tossing the boomerang quickly, you'll toss two at a time

The large keyhole door complete the "The Large Key Door" leads to a bunch of logs you can swing on. Come in here with the Funky Parasol to make it easier to get to the top, open the blue chest and get the Pink Evil Pig Bag. This opens the "The Haunted Mansion" objective.

There is a doorway below that room that contains a pair of doors made of stone. Remember this for later.
