PrinceWatercress plays Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves - Part 12 of 42

In this entry, we take on the Mask of Dark Earth once and for all, but not in the way that we expected.

The Juggernaut Throw is for Murray, and makes thrown enemies explode on impact. This ability is always on when bought and does not need to be equipped, and uses no special energy.

Hungry Croc

You'll need to play as Murray to start this one.

For this one, you'll need to head to the gators and stun enemies sent to the immediate area by The Guru, then throw them into the gator in order for the gators to eat them. You'll have two types of enemies - the kangaroos and the dingoes - and you'll have to throw them at the gator to fill up the two gauges. The problem is that you have a limited amount of area to move around in, and the enemies' attacks are their most annoying here: the kangaroos will jump on you, especially when you don't want them to, and the dingoes with the whips have a good amount of range. Even worse, the kangaroos enemies can kick up dust, making it harder to see. You may have to clear the area out temporarily to get some health and give yourself more room to maneuver and throw enemies at the gator with.

Once you fill up both gauges, you'll need to use the L3 button to find a flashlight guard on top of the lemonade bar, take them all the way to the gator and throw them into the gator's mouth. Afterwards, a flashlight guard with the Mask of Dark Earth shows up, but the Mask of Dark Earth is still able to get away.

After Day Two is complete, Bentley declares that Operation: Moon Crash is in effect. The Guru will have to take out the Gyrocopter, then the Mask of Dark Earth will have to meet the Moon Spirit, and given Murray's moon shape, he will have to wear the radioactive oil and pose as the Moon Spirit to attack the Mask of Dark Earth. From here, Murray will Thunderflop onto the Mask to destroy it...assuming nothing goes wrong this time.

Operation: Moon Crash

The Hover Pack is for Bentley, and allows you to jump a third time in mid-air. It's like the double jump, but you can jump one more time with X after the double jump for a triple jump.

You'll have to play as Sly to start this job.

You'll immediately play as The Guru to take out the gyrocopter as it refuels. The gyrocopter can sense the Moon Stone, however, and The Guru will have to run guards into the gyrocopter from a distance to destroy it. Use L3 to find the gyrocopter. Jump towards an enemy from behind, press Circle, send it to the gyrocopter, aim the enemy, then press X before you get too close to damage the gyrocopter. Three enemies will do it in. This is where the purple swirl effect that comes with the mind control ability becomes a pain, as it can make it harder to see as you figure out where you need to go. This is doable, though.

Afterwards, Murray is in place, but Carmelita Fox shows up as Murray smashes a guard who is wearing the Mask of Dark Earth. The Mask gets away again, but this time, it latches onto Carmelita, making her giant sized and throwing the operation into chaos.

You'll then play as Bentley. Get into first-person mode with the Binocucom and shoot her with the darts. When you hit her five times, the darts will supposedly stop her, but Carmelita will only grow larger. The gang gets in the truck, and you'll need to use a crane to throw the explosive drum. Use the D-Pad or left analog to move the crane. Press X (and use the shadow of the crane) to pick up explosives, and press Circle to throw the explosives back at her before they explode on the truck and cause damage.

After this, Carmelita gets even bigger, and the only solution is to climb up Carmelita's uniform and get to the mask on her face. You'll need to move up to her boot laces, jump up, climb up her pants, jump again, get on the hook, climb up her jacket,  leap up to her hair, climb up, then get on the clasps of the Mask of Dark Earth. You'll need to do this twice - once for each side of Carmelita - and the key to doing this is to take your time and not do this too quickly. You'll have a rope on the shoulder for her left side and a few holes in the jacket for the right, so both sides are going to be different. Once you pry the Mask off, the Mask of Dark Earth gets destroyed by Carmelita's mercenaries and the episode is complete.

At the end of the episode, The Guru joins the team, but not before the gang messes with Carmelita's evidence camera.
