HCBailly plays Final Fantasy II AGAIN - Part 45 of 65

In this entry, we find the Crystal Rod in Mysidia Tower and put it to good use.

The room in the upper-left corner of the last floor is the room you want to go to. Osmos drains MP from the target to you. (Interestingly, Osmose acts a little weird here compared to future games, as it damages the enemy much like an elemental spell despite being non-elemental - it calculates the damage as normal and the amount of MP you restore is equal to the damage you dealt - and the target need not have MP in order for you to absorb MP from it.) This spell can prove useful later once it's powered up a bit. You'll also find the Crystal Rod in the same room as the Osmose tome! Score!

We're done here, so let's get out of this cave.

Mysidia

There is some more dialogue when you come back from the cave, but none of it is very important.

Leviathan

Anyway, as you sail towards Mysidia Tower, the water will get really choppy and you'll end up...somewhere else. Layla will go missing.

The water here damages you, much like the lava in the first game.

The BoltFish are strong against Thunder despite being fish, and have no elemental weakness.

The Twist Headband not only increases your Strength by 10, it's also a light piece of armor with a low magic penalty that makes you immune to Mind-elemental spells. Ditto for the Power Armor, which makes you strong against Body-elemental such as Blind.
