PrinceWatercress plays Bonk's Adventure (Game Boy) - Part 2 of 6

We get to walk on waterfalls and climb a tree in the second round of this portable adventure.

Round 2

To climb up the waterfalls, hold Up and press A. Keep holding Up, and when Bonk latches on, keep tapping A to make your way to the top. You can also move to the side as you do this, too. To stay on the waterfall, keep jumping, or else you'll fall down. At least this game doesn't have any bottomless pits.

The lizards that jump in and out produce bolts of electricity when they're not in the waterfall. You'll want to hit them dead center on the way down during a mid-air attack to defeat them. Hitting them from underneath, however, is easier.

The Triceratops riding on top of a cloud attacks with thunderbolts from underneath. If you're going to hit them from below, wait for the thunderbolts to disappear before making your move.

Be ready to explore the second section. Staying low earns you an extra life.

The third section has a tree you can climb on, and to climb up, just jump into the tree's walls and climb on them like you would any other wall.

The bonus area here is a bonus food area. Unlike the console versions, however, you aren't forced to bounce on flowers due to the screen resolution and the fact that you may not have the best visibility while playing this game.

The dragonflies will fly towards you. They take at least two mid-air headbutts to defeat.

The fourth section is clouds and trees, and you can bounce on the clouds, whether they are part of the ground below or the platforms above. The ground clouds give you a lot more height, though. Looking around will give you a few cool power-ups, such as the big heart that refills two whole hearts and the clear heart that adds one heart to your maximum health (to which you can get up to five). The bird enemies will dive down at you, and they are best attacked from underneath.

The boss here is a pterodactyl that hatches out of an egg. When the boss drops down, runs around and pecks, you'll want to hit the boss dead with a mid-air headbutt dead center on the top of the head or else you're taking a hit. The pterodactyl flies to one side of the room, drops down, pecks, runs around, pecks again, then gets back in the air and repeats the pattern. Once you beat this boss, it's on to Round 3.
