PrinceWatercress plays Tomba! - Part 17 of 22

In this entry, we explore the Underground Maze and meet the Million-Year-Old Man. From here, we need to take care of loose ends, and that's what we do with the rest of the Let's Play.

At the start of this video, I head to the Masakari River and use the Mighty Fish Food there. Once I do this, a fish pops up. When I touch the fish, I bring my blue (water) experience bar to the maximum level, which allows me to get the Jewel of Water in the Trick Village maze.

If you back to the jail cell near the Dwarf Elder's hut in the Dwarf Village, you'll meet the thief that was locked up. You'll find out that the dwarves let him go, then he will leave. (This will happen after you complete the "Look and See?!" objective.) If you head back to the entrance to the Dwarf Village where the Watch Tower area entrance is, you'll be able to race him. The thief will tell you that he hid a treasure at the top of the Watch Tower, and whoever gets there first wins the treasure. This triggers the "Ready, Set, Go!" objective. You'll then follow him automatically to the Watch Tower, and from here, you'll need to make it to the watch tower, then go up the ladder to where the telescope is before the thief does. You'll get the Silver Powder, which you'll need to make the Golden Candy. This also completes the "Ready, Set, Go!" objective.

From here, I head to the Underground Maze to start exploring the place and opening some chests. One of the red chests contains some Cheese, while another contains Cold Medicine. Also, we use the Thief's Wire as an item near the wooden door to get inside. There will be a house to the east. From here, talk to the digger who is here. He will mention a thief's tools with an unbreakable wire that will help you explore the maze further if you can find it. Talk to him a second time and you'll find out that one of his friends in the Haunted/Thief's Mansion may the tools, and that you'll need to ask him about it. This triggers the "Unbreakable Wire" objective.

Also inside this house is the Blue Fortune Teller, who will only give you hints if you have a lot of AP. Talk to him to clear the "The Blue Fortune Teller" objective, and learn that "Blue is the beachside door, orange is the deep jungle, yellow is the guard of time, and that the remaining blue is here somewhere in the Underground Maze." These are hints as to where the Evil Pig Doors are, assuming you have the respective bags for them. The fortune teller will then tell you to see the Million Year Old Man first, then give you a Vitality Max +1.

After opening another blue chest containing some Cheese, I enter the door to the west. This leads to the Forest of All Beginnings. Another blue chest contains the Biting Plant Flower, and if you missed out on the one in the Forest of All Beginnings, you can get one here. If I don't mention any certain chest, it will contain something like a Charity Wing or a Lunch Box.

There is a tunnel in the maze that leads to three more chests. The red one gives you a Kokka Claw, the blue one has a Lunch Box and the wooden one contains some Cheese.

The blue chest in the northwest corner of the maze contains more Cheese. The door nearby takes you to The Strange, Small Room, which contains a rather big door and statues of the Evil Pigs that you have defeated thus far. This room will be important later when you beat all seven Evil Pigs.

From here, I head back to Baccus Village and hand five pieces of Cheese to the guy looking for the Cheese to get the Golden Fruit. You'll need this for later.

From there, I head to the south side of the Haunted/Thief's Mansion and head to the room with the healing fountain. There will be a digger there, and if you talk to him, he will give you the Strong Wire so you can explore more of the Underground Maze. This completes the "Unbreakable Wire" objective.

It's back to the Underground Maze from here. This time, I can open the other wooden door and I can enter the cave that is the home of the Million-Year-Old Man. He will tell you that the Evil Pigs are collecting gold because gold is the very source of their evil magic, and that the more gold they collect, the more powerful their magic can become. He says that it is too dangerous to allow the Evil Pigs to keep taking gold, which is where evil spirits are said to reside. This will complete the "Source of Evil Magic" objective.

The Million-Year-Old Man will tell you that you must seal the pigs in the Evil Pig Bags (which we've been doing), and that since you've been to all seven lands, it should not be hard to find all of the Evil Pig Bags. From here, it's a matter of fully exploring areas to find all the Evil Pig Bags. You will then get the Million Year Old Key, which will unlock all of the golden chests in the game. He will then wish for all seven Evil Pigs to be sealed away forever. This triggers the "Million Year Old Wish" objective.

Speaking of which, if you have the Blue Evil Pig Bag, you'll find the door to the Blue Evil Pig's lair in the Million-Year-Old Man's room.

Now that we have the Strong Wire and can open the gold chests, we can open the gold chest behind the door north of the Million-Year-Old Man's cave. Inside is 300,000 AP, and this completes the "Underground Treasure" objective.
