Thanks to our efforts, the men of Salamand are free. Now that we have the Mythril, it's time to put it to good use.
Salamand
When you head back to Salamand and talk to the people. you'll find out that the men are back and that you should take the Mithril to Hilda in Altair. Sure, why not?
Talk to Josef first. You'll find out that the Dark Knight has taken charge, and that the Dreadnought is nearly completed thanks to him. If you mention Mythril, he will tell you that there are still Mythril deposits in the deepest parts of Semitt Falls.
You'll also find out about the Snowcraft, which lets you travel in the snow. Remember that blue stone tile in Semitt Falls? We'll have to head back to it to get the Snowcraft.
You should definitely get the Life spell once you have the Gil for it. It'll come in handy later on, especially once you've leveled it up a lot. Not only will you be able to replenish a lot of HP on downed party members, you'll be more successful at killing undead monsters with it.
Altair
Take the Mythril to Hilda. She'll tell you to take it to Tobul, so go to Tobul in the weapon shop. Give him the Mythril by choosing "Item" and then the Mythril, and he'll make the equipment. A second shopkeeper will appear next to the first one. Talk to him, and you'll be able to buy Mythril weapons. We'll be finding a Mythril Spear and a Mythril Cane soon, so don't get those here.
There's also a second shopkeeper at the armor shop, too. You'll also be able to buy Mythril armor here as well. It's less expensive than the weapons, so go for this stuff first. Be sure to get a Mythril Shield for Firion.
Talk to Prince Gordon again. He'll be surprised that you found the Mythril. If you mention the Dreadnought, he'll say that there has to be something he can do. You won't be able to do anything for him for now, though.
Go to the castle, and you'll get your next mission: head to Bafsk and destroy the Dreadnought. If you talk to Hilda, she'll tell you about the Dark Knight, who has been called back to Palamecia. Mention the Dreadnought, and she'll tell you about a man in Bafsk who has found a way to it.
