We must now head to Sirius Castle if we are to succeed in our quest...
Sirius Castle
You won't be able to enter the front door, so you'll have to find another way.
If you go to the east and go through the western wall, you won't find it, but you will get the Kaiser Band, which is better than the Aura Band. Equipping it will increase your attack by 30.
From here, leave, and this time, go west. The Sirius Key will open a shortcut. The gray zombies will be the first enemy you meet, and you'll soon meet the green magicians, who teleport in. The guy you meet will tell you that King Sirius is acting strangely and that a man named Vraud holds the real power around here.
You can strike through walls with lances, and while you won't have many opportunities to do so, you can do it. If any enemies carry keys, however, you can't reach them with the lance. Thankfully, the enemy that carries it will re-spawn when you leave the room and come back.
The blue creatures that run around in circles and spit blue fireballs are a more powerful palette swap of the brown ones from the Laiard Coliseum dungeon.
The Wide Bow is the next step up from the Double Bow, and it shoots two arrows at wider angles than the Double Bow.
If you talk to the chef, he will tell you to wait a minute, as he is busy. He then tells you that behind him is the cellar, and inside is a specially prepared Demiglace Sauce that he made. He asks you to get it to him, then opens the cellar door. The gray chest contains the Demiglace Sauce, while two of the three brown chests are Mimics. Give the chef the Demiglace Sauce, and he will add it to the sauce.
Lord Vraud shows up and demands to know if the meal is ready, then leaves, not even noticing you in the process. If you talk to the chef again, you'll tell him what is going on. He will tell you that the king has changed completely, and that he fears something to the point that he has hidden himself behind a magical barrier that nobody can get through. Since then, Lord Vraud has been the only person who has been able to get near the king. The chef then tells you there is a secret stairway behind one of the pillars in the main hall, and from there, you can enter the underground labyrinth which leads to the king's chamber and to beware of Lord Vraud.
In the room with the columns and the skeletons, if you go behind the second pillar from the top on the right, you'll find the secret passage. If you take the nearby door to the north of that, however, you'll find the Buster Glove, which increases your attack power by 25.
In the maze, there is a seemingly empty room with a Medical Herb in the lower-left corner, and if you walk into that corner, you'll open the chest.
The Necromancer - which you met in Distaria Coliseum, just like the green magicians - is a normal enemy at this point, and they shoot an eight-way shot that while teleporting around just like the green magicians. The Wide Bow will make short work of them.
The very vast room is the throne room, and as expected, you won't be able to go through the magical barrier surrounding the king.
The skeletons with black shields are stronger than the ones you've met previously. Also, the flashing green ghosts are a new enemy, and they just wander around while randomly teleporting in and out. They can also be destroyed easily with the Wide Bow.
The Brave Pendant increases your defense by 20.
The Magical Shield is a step up from the Courage Shield.
In one area, there will be four columns and a tile near them. If you stand on the tile, it takes you up one floor to the chest containing a Cursed Crown. This is a special item that you'll have to utilize here, but what do you do with it? You'll find out soon enough.
The brown spheres with the one eye that opens when they stop moving - leaving them vulnerable - take a lot of abuse and deal out just as much...unless you have a Mage Staff. The Mage Staff is a step up from the Fire Staff, and you'll find it in the room where you first meet them, and it is very powerful against those enemies. Don't fight those enemies until you get the Mage Staff.
The pit with the platforms above it is your first major platforming test in the game. When in doubt, pay attention to your shadow so you'll know where you are landing. To the south of that is a room full of pits, and the right-most one will take you to the Evil Sword. That is not a weapon; instead, it is a special item that you will have to use in Sirius Castle.
The mimics are not only fast, they are powerful. This is why you hit brown chests with the bow at this point, folks.
