Here's the boss battle with Kazard. This was hands-down the most difficult boss in the game, and he got his own video because of that.
When you meet Kazard, he notes your resemblance to Orphus before daring you to take the Darkworld Key from him.
King Kazard is possibly the hardest boss in the game, as his attacks span the room and his weak point changes throughout the battle.
At the beginning, aim for the arms. He will attack with an eight-way shot as well as some green projectiles that somewhat blend in with the floor, but he will also attack with a red fireball that tries to home in on you. If you see the red fireball, jump to throw it off. Your best bet is to use the bow and stay far away from Kazard as possible.
When you destroy Kazard's arms, the weak point will transfer to the muzzle of Kazard's horse where the green gem on its face is. This part takes a while, since you'll be playing keep-away if you're using the bow. You can strike it with other weapons, but I wouldn't recommend it. This is where having a Medical Herb as well as Aura Shield on stand-by really helps.
You'll eventually destroy the head, and it will be a hole where red fireballs and eight-way shots pop out constantly. At this point, you have to hit Kazard himself. It won't be long until you beat Kazard.
When you beat Kazard, he will tell you that you are the only who can pick up where Orphus left off and defeat Desire. He tells you about his betrayal of Orphus, and says that Desire offered him a deal when he ran out of strength: if he accepted Gryuud's magic, all of his people would be brought back to life. From there, he betrayed Orphus and the events that led up to the beginning of the game went into motion.
Realizing that his only means of atonement are leading you to Orphus, he grants you the Darkworld Key and tells you to go to Lufeia Castle and meet Orphus. Exit the room from the lower center portion of the south wall, and Queen Kazard will teleport in and thank you for defeating Kazard before telling you that she and the rest of the people of Kazard Castle will not live long after Gryuud's magic leaves this place. She thanks you for lifting the curse on Kazard Castle, and tells you that the castle will soon crumble. After the Queen tells you to escape as soon as possible, the game automatically takes you out of the caste and you will be fully healed when you reach the next area. Your next destination is Lufelia Castle.
