PrinceWatercress plays Tougi Ou: King Colossus - Part 13 of 22

We now head to Kazard to release the place from Desire's control. Thanks to our efforts, the people are standing up to Desire, and an uprising is at hand.

Kazard Castle

The first new enemies are guys in green robes who shoot fireballs out of their staves. As long as you stay on the moves, the fireballs that home in on you won't hurt you. Interestingly, they are palette swaps of High Priest Gohma from early in the game.

There are plenty of brown chests with Medical Herbs in them, so keep tabs on where they all are. Thankfully, none of the brown chests here contain Mimics.

Remember the guy who rolled into a ball and threw fireballs at you in Laiard Coliseum? He's a regular enemy now.

The Silver Lost Eye is an item that will come in handy later in the castle.

One room contains five women. One of them tells you that the two Lost Eyes - one of silver, one of gold - that opens the way to the castle interior. The king has hidden them somewhere in the castle. Another mentions that putting the Lost Eyes in the eye sockets of a statue, you'll find your way in. Another woman mentions that members of the rebel army has been occupying the castle, and yet another woman tells you that the queen of Kazard is alive and well somewhere in and wants to meet with you. Yet another woman tells you that people rebelling against Queen Desire are starting to rise up, and that Kazard was overthrown by Desire herself.

The disc throwing guy from Laiard Coliseum is a regular enemy now, as is the the barbarian-like enemy that moved around in circular motions.

In the queen's room, you'll find the Golden Lost Eye. By talking to the Queen, she will tell you that she knows you are the son of King Orphus, and that Orphus and King Kazard were comrades and friends. However, as Desire destroyed Lufelia, and that Kazard entrusted you and Flora - who is your older sister - to one of Kazard's knights: Muuk, the old man. He helped them escape, but he soon transformed into a demonic servant of Desire. She asks you to defeat her husband for his sake, and gives you the Ashura Rod - a more powerful magic rod that shoots a fireball that splits in all four diagonal directions - and tells you to take the Golden Lost Eye from the nearby chest.

The woman to the right of the queen will refill your HP and MP.

The archers will shoot arrows up in the air, and the arrows will land on where you stand. As long as you stay on the move and watch the arrows' shadows, they won't hit you.

The Golden Armor is a step up from the Crimson Armor, so go equip it.

The huge pit that you see further to the north on the second floor will take you back to the statue where you can place the Lost Eyes. By putting the Lost Eyes in the eye sockets, you'll hear a door open somewhere. The door in question is in the center of the second floor.

When you enter that door, you will face the Gargoyle. Equip the Wide Bow, stay away from his fireballs, and fire away while keeping the Gargoyle on screen. Also, stay out of his way when he moves, or else you're going to get tackled. Having Aura Shield and a Medical Herb ready will help very much in this battle.

Once you beat the Gargoyle, the platforms will start moving. Take the one that is immediately north and try to free the guy who is tied up. He will thank you for beating the Gargoyle, but as long as Kazard is alive, the chains will not disappear and none of the people trapped here can be freed. Another guy will tell you that Kazard is no longer human and that you must light the four torches in the two towers off to the sides of this area to lower the bridge that leads to the royal chamber if you wish to face him. You must use the Ashura Rod to light the torches.

As long as you pay attention to the platforms and watch your shadow when you jump, you won't have to worry about falling down into the pit and making your way all the way back to this area very much.

The fireball-shooting statues from the Laiard Coliseum dungeon are back, and they're much weaker.

If you show up in a torch with the Ashura Rod equipped, you'll be able to light the torch automatically just by attacking it. If you show up without the rod equipped and equipped, all you need to do is walk up to the torch, equip it, and you'll light it automatically then.
