PrinceWatercress plays Lagoon - Part 12 of 12

...and now, the stunning conclusion to Lagoon!

Secret Place

In the northwest corner of the island, there is a flight of stairs in the ground. This leads to the last dungeon in the game.

The guys with the swords and shields are slow and can be easily defeated with the sword. The same is true with the black creatures with the white arms, but they are crazy fast and very powerful - even if you're at the maximum level of 35 - compared to the sword and shield guys.

There is one more thing, and it is not only completely optional, but completely useless: the Time Ring. All it does is slow down normal enemies and is useless against bosses. And if you're at Level 35, what's the point?

When you find the white doors with the gold trim, there's no going back. You'll be facing the final boss battles whether you like it or not.

The first boss is some dark-colored thing under glass. Keep whacking it with the sword, and you'll eventually break it and turn it into a gargoyle. Believe it or not, if you just stay close and keep swinging the sword, it goes down in three seconds. For best results, equip the Elixir for just in case.

You'll regain all your health, then a door will open to the north. Before you go in, equip the Life Ball. You'll meet Thor and Zerah, who tell you that you just figured into their plans and that you just woke up the evil spirit and that we got used just like Thor, as we were the ones who had to wake it up. The only thing controlling it now is Thor. Thor then disappears, then Zerah turns into a beast. Run up to him while he is against the wall and whack him multiple times. Zerah says that even with him dead, Thor will still be controlling the evil spirit. He then commands him to kill you, and you'll notice that something in Thor has changed.

To beat Thor, you'll have to run at him, fireballs rotating around him be damned, and smack him with the sword. after a few hits, he turns into a four winged owl carrying an orb. Get away from him immediately. If you get hit one too many times, the Life Ball will save you. When you're back on the bottom half of the screen, equip the Force Ring to heal yourself and get the Elixir in your item slot again for just in case. Thor will fly around in an infinite pattern. and you want to stand to the side so that you can jump and strike the orb with your sword and deal damage. If you get hit, the Force Ring will cure it for as long as you have MP. You may get pushed back by one of the lasers Thor shoots at you. Just get back up there and try again. As you deal damage, the orb will break and Thor will turn red. You'll be able to kill Thor shortly after he turns red.

When the screen fades in and out, leaving you in the room with a now-human Thor, quickly un-equip the Force Ring. Talk to Thor. He apologizes for bringing back the evil spirit, and acknowledges that he knew full well of the legend. Thor gives you his pendant, which now contains Thor's spirit, and tells you to defeat the evil spirit alone.

From here, leave the room. You;ll see the evil spirit turn red and revive. Hold Left or Right on the D-Pad to move out of the way immediately, then move to the bottom of the screen and equip the Powerful Ring. Turn around, and smack the evil spirit a couple of times when it teleports to you. You've done it. The evil spirit is finally dead. Mathias' spirit will apologize to you and Thor through all of this, and Nasir is now tasked with keeping the balance between Light and Darkness and building a peaceful world. Thor is tasked with staying behind and combining his power with Nasir's to make sure this tragedy is never repeated. Lagoon Castle sinks back into the ground. You have finally beaten Lagoon!
