HCBailly plays Final Fantasy III - Part 13 of 44

We make our way through the Flame Cave and get the blessing of the Fire Crystal!

When you talk around now, you'll find out Guzco ran away to the cave to the north. Go ahead and sail over there. There's also a Chocobo Forest nearby in case you need to store items and retrieve what you've stored.

If you came here earlier, a wall of fire would block your path. Since the horns that Guzco stole broke the seal, you can enter this area.

You should be at Level 17 at this point, otherwise the boss at the end will destroy you.

If any of your characters have protection against Fire, the lava won't hurt you when you walk through it. Waterfalls will still damage you, though.

The Crocotta is weak to Ice.

The Balloons will explode if you don't one-shot them, and that attack can do hellacious amounts of damage heavy enough to kill you. The RedMallows are easy to kill off with physical attacks.

The Ice Blade is obviously Ice Elemental and will be one of the most powerful weapons that you'll have for quite a while.

HiPotions restore around 500 HP. You'll be needing these later in the game.

The rock near the second HiPotion chest opens up a passage to the left when you walk up to it and press A.

The Milmecorreos can Petrify you with Glare. Use Mute on them whenever you can.

At the end, you'll have a rematch against Guzco, who has to kill you to get the true power of Fire. He turns into the Salamandr (Salamander). If you're at Level 17 with a Skill Level of 33 for each character, you should be good, and if one of them is a Black Wizard, you'll be able to kill this guy in a few rounds as compared to having a Red Wizard. All those attack multiplies from bringing your regular and skill levels up does wonders for this battle. Once you win, you'll be able to get the blessing of the Fire Crystal.
