HCBailly plays Final Fantasy III - Part 19 of 44

We've got the Floating Shoes, but we still have the problem of our ship being chained up.

We're done in Amur, but our ship is still chained up. Goldor's Mansion, two Chocobo Forests and the Bottomless Swamp are all to the south, and you'll have to deal with Goldor in order to get this matter dealt with.

The doors at the entrance require a Thief or a Master Key to unlock.

GoldBears can be easily taken out with Toad and Mini, which should now be barely useful enough to work as instant death spells. They should also work on GoldKngts (Gold Knights), GoldEagles and Nightmares as well.

Watch out against the Nightmares, as they can Confuse you with the Glare spell.

All but one chest on the second floor contain Shiny Swords, the last contains a Dragon Claw, which gives more offensive power to the Karateka.

Go back downstairs and unlock the upper-right door with a Magic Key/Thief. The upper-left corner contains a hidden passage to a stairway that leads to more of the mansion. Use the secret passages to go through the walls at the south side of this maze, and you'll be able to reach Goldor much more quickly. When you talk to him, he obviously considers you a threat.

As expected, he has amazingly high magic defense. Once again, keep your HP high and use your most powerful physical attacks against him.

When you beat Goldor, he crushes his crystal and disappears, leaving the key to the boat chain behind.
