HCBailly plays Final Fantasy III - Part 21 of 44

Hope your levels are in the mid-20s.

From Leprit, head southeast to Salonia. It's that huge grey area with the castle.

When you approach the castle, you'll be attacked by cannon fire and your airship will be destroyed. You'll land in front of the castle, where the army of Salonia are fighting their allies...and the loser gets executed. Go south and head to town.

There are four quadrants to the town. Hit up the southwest area first.

Talking around will tell you that the king will execute anyone on the spot for questioning him, and that he's split Salonia's army in two and forcing them to fight. All shops are closed, but weapon shop is defying the order.

The king's retainer's shadow is in the shape of a giant bird. The soldier thinks it could be the legendary Garuda.

A building in the lower-right corner has a man who can summon a Fat Chocobo. You can now store items without having to use a Carrot. Yay!

The small building to the north is the pub. The old man nearby will tell you he saw a child who looks like the Prince go in. Here's hoping you won't have to resort to this.

There will be four punks surrounding the Prince. Talk to them to trigger a battle against four GoldKngts. This is nothing out of the ordinary. When you beat them, talk to the Prince. This is Prince Allus, son of King Gorn of Salonia. His father suddenly started a civil war, and wouldn't listen to him. As a result, Gorn banished Allus from the castle. He joins your party so he can find his father and ask why this is happening.

Talk to Allus with B. He'll tell you it's like his father suddenly became an entirely different person.

Now that you have Allus in your party, some people will give you stuff. The old man on the platform surrounded by water in the middle of town will give you the Dragon Armor, which can only be equipped by the Dragoon class. The man in the lower-left corner will give you a Wind Spear, another Dragoon-only item.

Head towards the northeast quadrant.

Here, you'll find out that Salonia Castle is closed, and that the only people who could defeat Gardu were the Dragoons.

The weapons shop in the upper-left corner will be able to sell you Thunder and Wind Spears (defying the king's orders in the process). Buy seven Wind Spears. You'll need them for a battle in the near future.

Head to the southeast quadrant.

Here, you'l find out that the tower here is the Dragon Tower, where you can find the treasure of a family of Dragoons. It's riddled with monsters, but if you've leveled up outside of Salonia, you'll know how to deal with them.

Sorcerers and M.Helcans can all cast Level 3 spells, so use Mute to keep them from casting anything.

There are also some invisible walls, but even without the maps, it's pretty easy to figure out where they are.

Near the top, you'll find Dragon Helmets and Armor, as well as FenixDowns and Thunder Spears.

Turn everyone to Dragoons, then equip two Thunder Spears as well as the Dragon Helmets and Armor on everybody. Be sure that everyone is in the front row. Also, being Level 26 is essential, so you can get some extra damage multipliers.
