HCBailly plays Final Fantasy III - Part 27 of 44

In this episode, we put Noah's Lute to good use and enter the Ancient Ruins...

Head to Unne's Shrine. This place is exactly north of the mountains near where the Temple of Time is. Press A on Unne and use Noah's Lute on her to wake her up. She'll then tell you the first order of business: get the Great Ship, which can cross mountains. It'll be found in the Ancient Ruins to the north. Unne then joins your party.

Talk to Unne with B and she'll give you a third set of Fangs. The two Fangs you still have at this point as well as the ones she gives you - the Fire Fangs - are the only things that can destroy the Statues of the Ancients. You still have the Earth Fangs to hunt for, and you'll need the Great Ship - aka The Invincible - to get them.

Directly east of Salonia is the statues. Walk between the first three sets, then get back in the Nautilus and head to the small forest just northwest of Unne's shrine that is near all the rivers and waterfalls. From there, head to the green area in the middle of it all and land between the stream and the swamp. This is the Ancient Ruins.

Pyralis isn't too special, but does have a bit of HP.

Talking around to the scholars here will tell you that the walls near the entrance have caved in, trapping their advance party. Bring Unne to the caved-in rocks, and she'll strike the rocks with a Dream Cloud to banish them to the "cleft of dimensions," wherever that is.

Talking to Unne at this point will bring up the Cave of Darkness, north of Amur. Also, beyond the statues is Sylx tower, where Zande is.

When you meet with the advance party, they'll tell you of portraits of a great ship in the ruins as well as a band of merchants sneaking weapons and armor out of the ruins for a profit. You'll also find shops and inns here if you need them.

The items here aren't really useful to HCBailly, hence why he doesn't mention them. The Elven Claw is actually a weaker weapon at this point.

The Azraels can make their own clones with Split.
