PrinceWatercress plays StarTropics II: Zoda's Revenge - Part 14 of 16

In this entry, we head to King's Arthur Court, get knighted and head north to take on a dragon.

Chapter 8

You'll be sent to a forest. By following the path, you'll find out that you are in Camelot, that you should see the king, and that there is a dragon to the north. One of the NPCs is Lancelot, who says that he would fight the dragon if his schedule wasn't so full.

Keep going following the path north and enter the castle.

From here, go north and see the king. You'll find out that this is King Arthur, who has been expecting you thanks to Merlin. He asks you to take on the dragon to the north, as all of his knights are out on quests. If you say "no," you'll have to leave the castle, talk to the woman outside of the castle and then talk to King Arthur again just to say "yes." Arthur will knight you, and you will not only get your health refilled, but you'll get one more heart for your maximum health. From here, the guard blocking the path further north will no longer block your path and will let you through when you talk to him.

In the first room with the blobs, kill the last enemy will standing all the way to the north center of the room. This will allow you to land on the upper area in the room below and jump on the nearby tile for a Potion. Drop down for the potion and take the stairs up. Hit the tile in the next room to go west and return to the blob room. From here, kill the last blob near the north center, but go north after you drop down.

The Super Psychic Shock Wave will be a very good weapon here; feel free to use it here.

You'll have to hit the zombies to get past them in the cow-skull-and-pit maze. Take the left path first for a potion before going back and going through the maze for the other one. Watch out for that lightning hat wizard while getting the other potion, then go back to the north wall at the top of the maze area and kill the wizard from there. Be sure you're dead center when you're in that area to ensure you land on solid ground instead of spikes or the lower area when you defeat the wizard. Go north.

The knights come at you a bit quickly and...throw a three-way shuriken shot. What. Just kill them with the Super Psychic Shock Wave from a distance.

In the conveyor belt tile room, jump to the north towards the tiles pointing north as soon as you are able. This will allow you to get out of this area. Jump over the spikes - which take up more and more of the floor leading west - to get to the next conveyor belt tile maze.

In the next maze, go north, then south, to avoid being hit by oversized sword blades popping up out of the ground. Jump over the spikes on the way west out of here.

In the third maze, go south, then north. Again, jump west over the spikes.

In the fourth maze, go south, then stick to the center. Jump over the spikes. You'll get four hearts to refill your health with at the end.

The boss here is a knight with a lance on an armored horse. Equip the Katana to utilize its bigger hitbox, and attack the boss diagonally as you get whisked across the room while the knight shoots lasers at you. You'll need to be ahead of the knight for this to work somewhat well, and you may have to jump in place to reposition yourself in relation to where the knight is from you. This may allow you to aim vertically and still hit the knight. Once the knight is beaten, you can jump to the west and get out of here.

In the tunnel, you'll meet a talking owl. Turns out, the owl was the monkey and the donkey...and was really Merlin the whole time. He will tell you that long ago, he had a good friend from a far-away planet: King Hirocon. He will tell you that Hirocon spread the Tetrads across time and space so that only a hero could find them, and that Hirocon asked him to watch over such a hero in his journey someday when they last spoke. We are now that hero, and that day has come. We must now get the last Tetrad and put all the Tetrads together in order to save Hirocon's people. Merlin will then give you the Ultra Psychic Shock Wave, which goes all the way across the screen and is almost as powerful as the Katana. The range makes it a little better than the Katana, though.
