PrinceWatercress plays StarTropics II: Zoda's Revenge - Part 13 of 16

Zoda's powers send us to a dangerous castle. What hazards await us there?

Chapter 7

There's nothing here you can do except to follow the path and walk into the castle.

You can heal up on hearts at the beginning if you need to, then leave and come back to get the hearts to re-spawn if necessary.

The bats from the first game are back, and they fly around randomly like always. Use the Super Psychic Shock Wave so you can hit them, as they can be fast.

The Frankenstein's Monsters are the type of enemy that moves slowly and comes after you when you happen to be in range. When you hit them enough time, they lose their upper body and only their legs remain. When that happens, the legs will move around randomly and will be faster. Attack them a couple more times with the Super Psychic Shock Wave to finish them off.

Watch out after the Frankenstein's Monsters, as ghosts will pop up if you stick around long enough. There will be a white/light purple ghost and a couple of light blue ones; hit the white one, as it is the only one you can damage. The ghosts will shoot projectiles in the direction they are facing if left on screen long enough.

You'll be able to get a potion to the north of the ghost room, but watch out, as flames will come out of the ground to catch you out.

The ghost carrying the tombstone can only be hit from behind and will eventually glow blue and shoot a projectile at you after long enough.

In the room with the conveyor belt tiles spiraling towards the hole in the floor, keep jumping east to get to the tile. The chest here will contain some throwing stars, which do a lot of damage. From here, let the tiles send you into the hole in the floor.

Hold up and left immediately; otherwise, the hole will loop in on itself and you'll have to wait until the room with the tiles in a cross formation pop up again. One of the tiles you'll land on will reveal an extra life sign, so go ahead and pick that up. From here, head west. then walk on the tile to the left of where the arrow made out of tiles ends. Hold left so you don't fall into another pitfall, then then jump to the Potion. From here, you can go into the pitfall. From here, head east and stand in between the four tiles where the Frankenstein's Monsters are; while the path west leads out of the mansion, there is more to do.

Go back to the extra sign/cross tiles room and drop down, then hold any direction immediately to get away from the pitfall. Use the Katana to take out the wizard and avoid the orbs that he produces; otherwise, they will rebound towards you and hit you. For best results, catch him in the corner. From here, you can hit two of the tiles in the room to get a total of four hearts replenished. Go back to the pitfall, then hold a diagonal direction when you reach the extra sign/cross tiles room. Go west, and use the katana against the bats so you have an easier time hitting them.

From here, you'll be able to leave the dungeon. The green wizard with the lightning bolt hat will drop bombs that explode and send shrapnel in eight directions. Keep your distance, try to hit him diagonally and be ready to jump over the shrapnel. In the room with the Frankenstein's Monsters, hit the crack in the wall with an attack to open up a room containing another Potion. Thankfully, the wizard after this is easier, since there are only so many places he can move to.

The upper-left most tile will open the door north in the room with the tiles in the shape of a bat. This will lead to the battle with Zoda-Y.

For Zoda-Y, start by equipping the Super Psychic Shock Wave and shooting Zoda-Y with it at the beginning of the battle. Take out the bats and avoid the three-way shots by jumping straight up. You'll beat Zoda-Y quickly, but you won't be done yet, as Zoda-Y will turn into a bug-like alien with wings. Equip the throwing star and throw them at Zoda-Y. Remember that the throwing stars have a three-way shot. When Zoda-Y flaps his wings, jump around to avoid the feathers and try not to move into the spikes as you do so. You may be able to jump in place and repeatedly attack Zoda-Y as you do this.

After you beat Zoda-Y, follow the path and you'll get another Tetrad. The Oxford World Wonder will then teleport you once again...
