PrinceWatercress plays Mega Man 7 - Part 2 of 9

Now that we've gotten the intro stage out of the way, we can go after two Robot Masters this time around. This game may not be the most memorable game in the series, but it's still fun and has a certain charm to it.

Cloud Man

The quartet of purple birds will fly towards you when they see you. Firing a charged shot will take them all out at once if they're in a straight line.

You'll also see cylinder-shaped robots with spikes on their heads. They'll shoot up then gently fall back down. If they're above you, they will shoot thunder downwards.

The small sphere robots with the cone on it changes the weather. When it changes positions, the weather changes from clear to rainy. If you hit them with the Freeze Cracker, this will change the rain to snow.

The large ball-shaped robots with three cannons will shoot three shots at you. They can easily be taken out with a charged shot.

The flying green robots are virtually easy to defeat.

At one point in the middle of the stage, you'll have to deal with invisible platforms where you won't see much of them apart from near where you're standing. Watch your step as you shoot down the enemies. If the platform ends in front of you, be prepared to jump forward and hopefully land on something (which you more than likely will). If you've made it snow, you'll be able to see the invisible platforms.

The egg-dropping birds from the second game are back. Now that you have a charged shot, you can take out all the tiny birds in the now much-bigger egg all at one time. There is one spot at the end of the stage where you can move back and forth to fill up on health and weapon energy.

The Shield Joe shows up in this level. When he lowers his shield to either shoot or jump, be ready to shoot him as he is vulnerable at those times.

The green flying robots just fly to the left.

The red robots on tank treads move back and forth. They will have their heads detach if you destroy the body.

If you use Rush Coil to reach the high ladder near the end, you'll meet Proto Man. He'll tell you that you can use your weapon to discover hidden things. He then tells you to use the flame weapon in the woods. (This will come in handy later.)

The robots with the big fans on their chest are a throwback to the second game. Not only can they suck you in with those fans like last time, they can also blow you away and alternate between both courses of action.

To beat Cloud Man, jump over his thunderbolt attacks and the ground-travelling thunder balls it creates. If he's in the air and he flashes, you'll know he's about to shoot a thunderbolt then. Slide away from him as he make it rain, as he will be be sucking you towards him as he tries to conduct electricity. The rest of the time, the wind of the rainy weather will be pushing you away. While it's raining, jump over the electric balls Cloud Man creates that travel across the ground. When it becomes clear again, slide under him as he moves around. Fire charged shots at him, especially while its raining and he's trying to suck you towards him, since he'll be staying in one spot then.

Junk Man

There are machines that look like Famicoms at the beginning; in future releases of the game beyond Mega Man Anniversary Collection, they are removed most likely because of Nintendo being very protective of their stuff in a legal sense (at least, that's what I want to believe).

The cockroaches are low to the ground, so hit them with a charged Mega Buster shot or a weapon that travels the floor, if you have one. When you destroy their spawn point, two cockroaches will pop out and you'll have to deal with those. If you're close enough to the cockroaches, they'll fly at you, which leaves them more vulnerable to attack. Just be careful if you're trying to avoid them, as they can climb on walls like real cockroaches.

The elevator segment has you fighting off Mettaurs with copter heads and puny cannons at the bottom. They go down very quickly when you shoot at them.

Some of the pits are filled with lava, so watch out.

At certain points in the stage, you'll find signs saying "AC 100w" above power generators. If you use the Thunder Bolt on these power generators, you can get things such as factory machinery and lift platforms up and running again. Try it out! If you shoot the generator for the lift platforms with Thunder Bolt from the right side, the elevators will go up on the left; if you shoot it from the left, they will go up on the right. This will help you get the Rush Jet power-up.

At one point in the lift platform segment, there is a short ladder on the left side of the room. Climb it and go right to find Rush Jet.

The magnets, after the generators for them are powered up with Thunder Bolt, while slowly carry you over the pits. You can jump into them, then hold Left and Right to slowly push yourself in those directions. In this area, you'll see worms crawl through all the junks. Watch for the periscope, as that is where the worms are located as they look for and lunge at you.

Watch out in the area with the green platforms, as junk blocks will fall from the chutes in the ceiling. If one lands on the platform, projectiles will start shooting from the sides of it until it's destroyed.

The purple turrets will fire on your current location.

To beat Junk Man efficiently, you'll need the Thunder Bolt. Hit him with it, then slide under him as he leaps to the other side of the room. Repeat until he's dead. Easiest boss in the game.

Beating Junk Man will net you the Junk Shield, which protects you from some hits.
