What if you didn't get all those scrolls...?
But what if you didn't take the shortcut?
Simple: you would have to fight some more samurai as well as some more ninjas, then you fight the guy with the pistols. You'll then enter the castle and fight numerous samurai for all of two sections and fight the guy with the pistols at the end of each both. For best results, stick to the fight end of the hallway so that you can move to the side.
From there, you'll get the scroll message again if you have all the green scrolls. If not, you'll go back to the level closest to where you need to find one.
