The difficulty gets higher in the next three stages of the game, and the green scrolls get more difficult to find.
Stage 4
The kunoichi will either run back and forth before throwing shurikens or leap out from behind buildings in an attempt to slash you. Watch your surroundings. If you can keep a kunoichi mostly off-screen, they won't be able to throw shurikens at you at all.
The first pair of dog statues hide a green scroll. Throw five shurikens at the one on the left to grab it. You now have two green scrolls.
The boss is the same as ever, but he goes back to the regular shurikens.
Stage 5
This stage takes place on what looks like either a river or a moat. Use the logs to get away from enemies when you can, and use your vanishing technique to avoid shurikens whenever you can.
The boss will stay on a log at the top. Hit him from a distance, but watch out for his shuriken and especially the bola.
Stage 6
Stay to the left to avoid the first two kunoichi.
At the first bridge across the stream, go up and stand in front of the tree at the north end to reveal the third green scroll.
If you can get the boss away from the trees at the end, you can beat him easily.
