PrinceWatercress plays MMPR: The Movie for Game Boy - Part 2 of 3

Well, this was a quick one. Next video is the last, and it'll be the final battle with Ivan Ooze.

Stage 4

The first section is simple enough, and the second one has you jumping up and avoiding boulders. The "stair sections" in the first section don't have Putties.

When you reach the third section, take out the jetpack Putties as soon as you see them, as the bombs they can drop will destroy the bridges and expose the bottomless pits beneath. They have a downward kick, but you won't see it very often. The guns that move up and down solely to aim at your face can be destroyed when you hit the main gun. (You can't duck and hit it when it's craned up, it won't work.) Also, be ready to make some precision jumps.

The next section is just like the second, except you're dealing with jetpack Putties instead of boulders.

Stage 4 Boss

The boss here is Goldar. The best thing to do is punch him into a corner, which can be really easy to do if you're fast enough. Avoid his sword slashes as well as his thrust attack.

It doesn't show it here, but sometimes he'll disappear and do some sort of mirror image teleportation trick. Use the platform here to get away from that if you're playing as Aisha, Rocky or Kimberly (the Yellow, Black and Pink Rangers).

As for that attack I pull off after hitting Goldar with a series of dashes and standing strikes, I had never seen that prior to playing this game for the channel and have no idea how to do it, but I guess all those strikes I did seemed to unleash it. If you can pull it off, you'll do a load of damage to Goldar.

Stage 5

Do not jump down the pits. Repeat. Do not jump down the pits. Those pits are instant death. The second section has you dropping down while taking on Putties with rocket launchers. When you drop down a level, be ready to jump to avoid being shot at. After the third section, you'll be on an elevator. The elevator will take you to a mini-boss, which is some sort of metal falcon thing. Attack it as it flies around, and get away from it after one or two attacks when it tries to fly into you. It will also stop to shoot lasers down at you, but thankfully you can easily avoid the lasers and punch it as it's a sitting duck in that position.

If the falcon (or eagle, whatever) swoops down, it rises up past the top of the screen before slowly coming back down. If you keep jumping up and punching it as soon as it returns, you'll catch it in a loop and it won't be able to attack you until you stop attacking it.

Afterwards, you'll be facing what look like moving mines. Duck and kick them twice to take them out. The skeleton guys who attack you by thrusting their skulls towards your face are easier than you might think. As long as you duck and keep ducking, they won't be able to hit you at all. From there, just duck down and hit them.

Stage 5 Boss

As long as you're not standing where Lord Zedd teleports, he'll appear and try to hit you. Thankfully, the way he teleports is predictable, even though he picks a random spot every time. Just make it so that he's standing next to you, then attack him before he can do anything. If he's far away, use a dashing shoulder tackle.

Stage 6
Section 1

Oh, boy. This one's gonna take a while. You have a boss rush on the way to Ivan Ooze, and you might die a few times if you don't know what you're doing.

You'll fight the bosses in the order the stages come, so I'll just re-post the strategies from the previous two blogs for this and the next two entries.

Anyway, there's not much going on around. Just walk to the right and take down Putties. Be sure to morph into a Power Ranger as soon as possible. You'll need the extra strength and defense.

Stage 1 Boss

This guy is just so easy it's amazing. Just stay in the middle and wait for him to show up at either side of the screen. Walk right towards him, avoiding the fireballs as you go, and hit him. It's that simple. Just don't be at the sides when he teleports; otherwise, you're getting punched as soon as he shows up.

Section 3

The skeleton guys are back, so when they walk out from the background, just duck and punch until they're dead.

Wait for the flamethrowers to stop shooting out fire before you pass. Ivan Ooze was careful enough to place these things near bottomless pits, but it's still easy to get past all those if you know when to jump. Do not hold B to do the somersault; the camera will not center itself until you land, making this awkward.

Apparently, those things that were creeping through the floor that looked like mines were really tiny robots. Interesting.

Stage 2 Boss

The conveyor belts may be a hindrance in getting close to the boss, but you're in Ranger mode! Use that dashing shoulder tackle to get closer, and kick that bird in the chest! Using your jump kick also works here.

The Tengu Queen (yes, there is a Tengu in this game) will appear on either side of the screen and shoot a three-way feather shot at you. Get close to it, avoiding the feathers, and hit her. She'll fly away and re-appear again on one of the two sides of the screen.

For this second battle, you can stand on the platform above if you're playing as either Aisha, Rocky or Kimberly (the Yellow, Black or Pink Rangers) and hit them as they make their way back up. You can hit them on their way down, but you have to be pretty quick to do it as the only possible time to do so is as soon as they show up.

Section 5

A vertical section, complete with flamethrowers. If you stick around at the top, those water tap-looking things show up again. If you need some quick power, take a few of these things out before continuing.

Stage 3 Boss

Another simple boss. Punch it when it's standing still, and avoid it when it's somersaulting in and out of the water. It will know where you are, so it's very easy to time when he's going to come out of the water and roll into you again to an exact science.

Section 7

More flamethrowers and bottomless pits. Also, no enemies. jetpackguy.jpg

If you can pull it off, you'll do a load of damage to Goldar.

Section 9

It's back to Putty bashing in this one. Nothing much else here.

Section 11

It's a horizontal platforming section, where you're avoiding fireballs that act like the Podaboos in Super Mario Bros., just leaping in and out of the abyss.

The floating eyes can only move - and be destroyed - when their eyes are open. They take two hits in Ranger form.

Section 12

If you need Life and Power, this is the last place you're going to get it. Ivan Ooze has two forms, and you'll need as much of both as you can get!
