HCBailly plays Final Fantasy IV (Super Famicom) - Part 14 of 70

In this entry, Baron's forces strike Fabul and we're caught in the crossfire.

There is nothing more you can do here, so go all the way to the throne room to talk to the king. Yang will tell King Fabul what is going on, and after some hesitation from King Fabul due to Cecil being a Dark Knight of Baron, Edward then tells King Fabul what has happened in Damcyan, and asks Fabul not to let his kingdom suffer the same fate. King Fabul will then ask you to help out. Say "yes." King Fabul will leave the situation to Yang, and ask Rydia and Rosa to help off the battlefield with first aid. As a result, you won't be able to use Rosa or Rydia in the coming battles.

"I just feel kind of...I feel kinda invincible."

You'll fight a Captain and two Marines. This is just like the Soldiers and General battle in Kaipo: take out one of the Marines first, then take care of the Captain. You'll be able to beat the battle in no time.

Afther this battle, the Red Wings attack the castle. Cecil and company wil be forced to retreat into the castle. You'll fight a Lacy, a Domovoy and a Sahagin. Have Edward attack the Lacy, have Cecil attack the Domovoy and have Yang fight off the Sahagin with the Thunder Claw. The Sahagin will go down in one hit, while the Lacy will get confused and attack herself.

Afterwards, the monsters get the upper hand and you are forced towards the throne room. Thankfully, the king is in a safe area. After a battle similar to the one you just had, you'll be forced to fall back into the throne room. They lock themselves in, but the monk that follows Cecil's party in unlocks the door and reveals himself to be a monster.

You'll face a Gargoyle. Have Edward confuse the Gargoyle with his Harp, and keep everyone's health high. If the Gargoyle attacks itself with Tornado, this battle will be easy; otherwise, have Cecil and Yang attack.

After this battle, the monsters will catch up and attack Edward. You'll face another Captain and two more Marines. Fight them like you did the first time. Once you beat them, you'll be done with Baron's forces...for now.

Cecil's party will then head to the Crystal room. Here, Kain will suddenly show up, but this time he will fight against Cecil instead of with him.

The battle with Kain is an automatic sequence, and Cecil will be beaten during it. You'll find out that Kain is under Golbez's control. Rosa and Rydia will show up, followed by Golbez, who comes out to a wicked theme. Cecil will easily overpower Yang and Edward, then take the Crystal for himself. Rosa tries to intervene, but Golbez kidnaps Rosa and runs off with her. Rydia then cures the whole party, then everyone regroups.
