HCBailly plays Final Fantasy IV (Super Famicom) - Part 25 of 70

There's no way to un-petrify the twins right now, so all we can do is move on.

No matter what you do, you won't be able to un-Petrify Palom and Porom, and you won't be able to get them back until much later in the game. If you use a Golden Needle, you will lose it.

There is nothing else to do, so head back outside and press A when standing on the same tile as the airship to get in. Press A again to land, and use the Control Pad to fly to where you want to go.

You could go to Toroia to the northwest, but there are still some things you can do. There is Eblan in the southeast corner of the southwestern island, but the monsters there are extremely powerful.  Instead, you can go to the east to the town of Agalt/Agart.

Agalt/Agart Village

You'll learn by talking to the people here that the villagers are of Dwarven blood.

The building in the southwest corner of the village is Corillo's Observatory. Here, people look into an interesting invention known as a telescope to keep track of strange activity that is taking place on the moon. If you go upstairs, you can see the telescope for yourself and even talk to Corillo, who tells you that there are two moons in this game: one that has no life, and another one that is turning blood red and is acting most peculiar. If you look through the telescope, you can see the moon yourself.

The guy near the well tells you that the well is bottomless.

There is an Arctic Wind in a little nook in one of the grassy fields near the pond in the northwest.

The weapon and armor shop does not carry anything useful.

If you go into the building between the weapon/armor shop and the inn, turn right and press A, you'll find Namingway.

At the inn, you'll find out that the Red Wings are heading towards a crater to the north. You'll also learn about the Underground, which has its own magma sun, and that when the Magma Stone is returned to its birthplace, the way to the Land of the Underground will open.

The dancer at the inn here does the moonwalk.

North of Mt. Ordeals and Mysidia is the island town of Silvera (known as the Mithril Town outside of the original Super Nintendo version). There are shoals here that will take you to a nearby cave, but you won't be able to access that cave...yet.

Silvera/Mithril Town

Some of the people here are miniaturized, and others are pigs and frogs. The pigs mine the Mithril ore here, while the frogs refine it and the Little People forge it.

Inside the grass at the far rate in the center of the village is a Mithril Staff. This increases the user's Will by three. There is also a Mithril Knife and 5000 Gil in the grasses to the north.

In the Tool Shop, you can get Maidens Kisses, Lucky Mallets and Diet Food. Diet Food cures the Piggy status.

At the weapon shop, you can get a Mithril Wrench for Cid. While you can get the Mithril Sword for Cecil, using the Dancing Knife as an item in battle does more damage than the sword ever could.

At the armor shop, you can buy a Mithril Helmet, Armor and Gauntlet for Cid. You could get a Mithril Shield for him, but his wrench weapons require two hands to use. You could get all the armor for Cecil, but they are only minimally better for him than the armor you got for him at Mysidia.
