HCBailly plays Final Fantasy IV (Super Famicom) - Part 20 of 70

Baron has gotten worse since the King sent us on our way...and it shows.

At this point, HCBailly has brought Cecil's level up to 20 in order to make him stronger. The third screen of Mt. Ordeals is the best place to level up, as the Liliths there will give Cecil a ton of experience in minutes.

Also, at this point, Palom has the Bio spell, which is a powerful non-elemental spell against multiple enemies.

Using Porom's Cure 2 is good for levelling up your party, as it will be more accurate than shooting Holy Arrows. Tellah can cure the party, since he's got that much power for his magic, anyway. Twin Magic also works.

With that said, it's time to head back to Mysidia.

Mysidia

When you talk to the people in this town, everyone will be surprised that you are a Paladin. Get the Knight armor for Cecil if you haven't already and equip it on him; it will increase his Will by three points. Also, the barkeep will no longer kill you, though the dancer will still turn you into a toad.

When you talk to the Elder, he will admit that Palom and Porom were sent to spy on Cecil, but Cecil is not surprised, given his past as a Dark Knight. It is also noticed that the Legend Sword has Mysidia's legend engraved on the blade: "One born from the mouth of a dragon / Rising towards the heavens with Light and Darkness, / A sleeping promise shall awaken. / Veiled in the light of eternity, / Mother Earth shall be blessed with mercy and salvation."

As for the identity of the light at Mt. Ordeals, even the Elder does not know who it is. What is clear, however, is that Mysidia have been praying for one with the Holy Light and that Cecil may just be that person.

After this, Tellah and the elder finally meet, and they catch up on the death of Anna as well as Tellah learning Meteo. The Elder warns Tellah that he is fighting with hatred and vengeance and that using Meteo may cost him his life, but Tellah is willing to pay the price. The Elder says that with teamwork, Cecil and Tellah may be able to beat Golbez without using Meteo.

Cecil then mentions that an airship from Baron is needed, and the Elder breaks the seal on Devil Road so that you can get back there. Also, Palom and Porom stay in the party after volunteering to help Cecil further beyond becoming a Paladin, and asks Cecil and Tellah to watch over them.

When you head back to the entrance to the Devil Road, the guard will be gone. Step into the light, and you will be teleported from Mysidia to Baron.

Town of Baron

When you talk to the townspeople, you will find out that King Baron has changed for the worse and is jailing anybody who opposes him. Even worse, Cid is now in prison as a new model of airship is being built, and a foreign monk is in charge of the guards. Interestingly, this monk can be found at the inn. There are also rumors that Cecil is dead, and the dancers are no longer allowed to dance.

At the inn, you'll find out that customers are not coming and that there are soldiers are at the bar.
