Heiropatras are weak to Holy, so have Cecil go after them with the Great Bow and Holy Arrows.
The MindFlayers can paralyze you with Mind Blast, so you'll want to take them out or inflict the Piggy status on them quickly.
The Fairy Claw can be used to replace Yang's Ice Claw, and it deals quad damage against giants and also increases his agility. It is a lot more powerful, so be sure to equip it for the upcoming battle with the Dark Elf.
The DracuLady are weak to fire, while the Face Bat's are not. The Face Bats' Blood Suck looks like it absorbs HP, but it doesn't.
In the Crystal Room, you'll finally meet the Dark Elf. The battle is scripted, and your party will be nearly wiped out...
