HCBailly plays Final Fantasy IV (Super Famicom) - Part 15 of 70

We beat Baron's forces - for now - but soon everything takes a turn for the worse.

From here, head out of the Crystal room and explore the castle.

The jar near the door to the Crystal room contains Hermes Shoes. The old man in the throne room will tell you that King Fabul was injured in the attack on the castle, and is currently resting in his bedroom. Stepping on the button on the right end opens up a secret passage that leads to a Spider Web, a Demon Shield for Cecil and an Ether.

As you head towards the entrance, the guards will tell you to sleep at the Inn. If you do that, you will advance the plot.

By talking around in Fabul Castle, you will learn that monsters are now a part of Baron's army for some reason (as if that wasn't obvious enough during the fighting). If you talk to Yang's wife, she will tell that she whacked one of Baron's soldiers over the head with a frying pan.

If you talk to King Fabul, he will tell you to go get some rest while the defenses are re-fortified.

If you try to leave, the guards will not let you, saying it is too dangerous. Just head to the inn. You'll be able to rest at the inn for free due to having Yang in your party for this one time. Here, Cecil will come up with a battle plan: get an airship to fight Golbez. In order to do that, they have to sneak into Baron. While the Red Wings are powerful, Baron's navy is relatively weak, and any sneaking in will have to be done by sea. Yang will ask the King for a ship first thing in the morning.

The next morning, King Fabul gives Cecil's party a ship as well as a Deathbringer, which only Cecil can equip. This sword also increases Cecil's Vitality by five and randomly inflicts the Death status on enemies. King Fabul warns that with the Deathbringer being a dark blade, it is useless against true evil. He then tells you that your ship will be in the dock to the east.

From here, leave Fabul. There will be a ship to the east of the castle. Get in and sail. When you get on the ship, Yang's wife will see the party off, then the ship will automatically head to Baron. On the voyage there, Cecil will mention having to see Cid as soon as they get to Baron so they can get his help.

Suddenly, a whirlpool shows up, and the ship is slowly dragged in as Leviathan pops out. The ship's crew immediately panics, and Rydia is automatically knocked overboard. Yang goes in after her, and Edward is almost knocked overboard. The ship is then sucked in.

Cecil wakes up on a shore with nobody else in the party with him. He looks for everyone, but nobody responds.

Make your way to the east. There is a town that you will have to enter. Go in.

Mysidia

It's Mysidia. If you talk to anybody here, they will basically hate you for stealing their Crystal and either refuse to give you the time of day or cast Toad or Mini on you. (They can also change you back if you talk to them again.) One of them will tell you about the Devil Road, a dimensional road that drains the energy of anyone who crosses it. Due to Baron's invasion, it is currently sealed off to prevent future invasions.
