As we rescue mermaids, we find the Bubble Armor that gets us into Rockbird!
Southerta
One of the sealed monster lairs will clear out a ton of trees when you step on it.
0:50 - What.
You'll eventually release another mermaid soul along with a temple. This mermaid will give you the Bubble Armor if you talk to her in St. Elle's.
St. Elle's Seabed Sanctuary
One of the mermaids will tell you that mermaids have to know how to be great dancers. If you release the souls of three of her students, you'll be able to see that dance. At this point, you'll more than likely have released one of them: Kanna. Kanna will tell you that no armor will protect you against magma off the volcanic island of Durean. You will have to stop the volcano to stop the magma.
One of the dolphins will tell you that there used to be four mermaid statues in St. Elle's that prevented all creatures from getting lost.
There are two teleportation tiles guarded by a mermaid. You will not be able to access the one on the right until later under order of the Queen.
As mentioned earlier, you'll be able to get Bubble Armor in the temple from the mermaid inside. The Bubble Armor will allow to go south from the temple once you have it equipped. If you look around the perimeter of the temple, you'll be able to find a door that leads to a chest containing Mermaid's Tears.
St. Elle's Seabed
By equipping the Bubble Armor and making your way south from inside the temple, you will be able to enter the Seabed area.
There are new enemies in the form of slow-moving seahorses and sea urchins that have lots of HP.
Just east of the entrance back to the sanctuary is a path back to Southerta. Here, you'll be able to step on the sealed monster lair here to release a mermaid statue. Talk to the statue and you'll be able to open another path. This path will take you the shore reef known as Rockford. You'll then see the path open.
The jellyfish can move anywhere. As soon as their lairs are on-screen, be prepare to swing the sword. They can be a bit fast as they home in on you, so be careful.
Rockbird
Rockbird is full of monster lairs. Seal them, and you'll be able to drain the water from the pools and find chests that contain gems and other useful items.
If there are still fish in certain bodies of water when you drain them, the fish will flop around, completely defenseless and unable to attack.
Two of the monster lairs will allow you to release the soul of two more mermaids.
The monkeys can attack through walls.
