HCBailly plays Soul Blazer - Part 9 of 33

In this entry, HCBailly heads to the Light Shrine, talks about cat cheating, and gets one of the Master's Emblems.

Lostside Marsh

Head all the way back to the rafts on the other side of the Fire Shrine with the leaves equipped. The rafts will recognize the leaves as Turbo's symbol and let you cross the rest of the swamp.

Of course, you won't be able to go to the Light Shrine in one fell swoop. Instead, you'll have to use a series of rafts to get to the shrine as well as destroy the rest of the monster lairs. You'll also meet a new enemy: tiny yellow butterflies that you can barely see yet can fly anywhere on screen and still be killed.

0:41 - Well, that was talented.

1:16 - ...and he does it ON PURPOSE this time.

Here, you'll release yet another mole as well as yet another dog who happens to be a member of the Woodstin Trio.

Light Shrine

Some of the red laser walls can be broken by destroying all the monsters and stepping on the monster lairs once they are empty. Use your Light Arrow to destroy some enemies behind the walls if you need to.

The yellow light spheres with the angry faces can be stunned, but not killed.

You'll be able to release another squirrel that lives in one of the houses.

The lower floor will be dark. Good thing you got the ability to see in the dark from one of the moles you freed from the Fire Shrine when you went over there, right? In this floor, you'll release the soul of yet another crocodile who will allow you more free access to the island with the lone deer on it.

You'll also release a mole who will be above ground as well as a shortcut straight to the temple, which is pretty nice.

GreenWood

The other squirrel in the house will give you the Master's Emblem C. If you collect all eight emblems, you'll be a master at magic.

The above-ground mole is Monmo. Talk to her, and she will asks you to take him to the hole that is her house as it is so bright she cannot see. The hole in question is the left-most hole across from the tree houses. Talk to her once she stands on it, and she'll ask you to come in so she can give you something. Do that, and you'll be able to open a chest that contains the Mole's Ribbon. Equip the Mole's Ribbon, then enter the middle hole, talk to the mole, and you'll be able to get what's behind him: one of the moles you freed in the Light Shrine. You'll find out from the mole that the mole you gave the ribbon to is a ghost, and that he tried to rescue Monmo but never came back, and it is implied that he may have died trying. As a reward, you will get the Shield Bracelet, which will reduce the amount of damage you take by half when equipped.

If you talk to Monmo, she will tell you that a another mole lived in her home until she was taken away by monsters.

The deer on the lone island you just got free access to will lead you to a tree if you talk to it. It will ram a tree if you talk to it and follow it, which will give you a blue gem. The fairy will tell you that if you find all eight of the Master's Emblems, you won't need gems to cast magic spells. You will, however, have to travel the world to find them. If you find all eight emblems, return to this gem.
