PrinceWatercress plays Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy - Part 4 of 20

Our adventure takes us to the Forbidden Jungle, where we play with Blue Eco, power the village back up and fight a man-eating plant.

First | Previous | Next | End

0:31 - Time to trade 90 Precursor Orbs for a Power Cell with the mayor.

1:32 - We are now in the Forbidden Jungle. Be ready to keep your health high against the snakes, piranhas and other enemies that want you dead.

1:59 - These spiky vines will hurt you if you run into them, but you can get them out of the way temporarily by hitting them. Watch out on the bridges. One of them leads downwards to the village fisherman.

2:50 - You'll be able to get all the Precursor Orbs here eventually.

3:20 - The yellow boxes contain Dark Eco. If you break them, you'll get hurt...so don't do it.

3:30 - The first Scout Flyer.

4:02 - These spiked logs swinging back and forth will hurt you.

4:28 - Use the Blue Eco vent to reassemble this bridge and open the door.

4:52 - The trampoline on the right leads to the second Scout Flyer.

5:10 - Time to use the Blue Eco on the platform to go further up the tower.

5:24 - The third Scout Flyer. The big circle-shaped panel with the lighting bolt on it will launch you upwards if you are channeling Blue Eco.

5:39 - Channeling Blue Eco all the way up to these platforms will net you a Power Cell. From here, hit the button in the center to go all the way back down to another area.

6:30 - Jump on the platforms to get places, but be careful, as you will be above bottomless pits. Don't forget to get the Precursor Orbs.

7:08 - By grabbing this Power Cell, you'll open up all the Blue Eco vents in the world. Use the Blue Eco around here to open up the doors and get somewhere new.

7:57 - Watch out with these platforms...they flip! The launch panel here will take you to a ton of Precursor Orbs, as will the other one from earlier that we couldn't use...so make sure you use both!

8:14 - You have a major enemy in the form of this plant. It will send bugs at you. They will have spikes on their backs, but if you wait long enough, the spikes will go away and you can hit them from above with the Square button before hitting them again to get rid of them. All the while, don't get too close to the plant, or else you're gonna get bit. After this, the plant will wilt, and you'll be able to jump up the leaf platforms and smack it. You'll then face two bugs, then three, and after each salvo of bugs will be an opportunity to hit the boss. After three hits, the plant boss is dead, and all the spiky vines coming out of the ground in this area will be dead along with it, making it easier to get around.

11:30 - After getting the Power Cell on this boss, jump on its head for some Precursor Orbs. These Orbs can be easy to miss. After this, use the Blue Eco to launch your way out of here and get those Orbs you missed from earlier.

12:37 - The fourth Scout Flyer. There's also a hatch here for Orbs.

13:17 - The fifth Scout Flyer, a bunch of Precusor Orbs and a Power Cell.

14:07 - Get up here for a new area.

14:39 - How to get the Power Cell behind the locked door.

15:19 - The sixth Scout Flyer.

15:35 - Get up this machine and break the sticks holding the beam together. From here, you can go up to some towers and press Circle at the controls to realign the Blue Eco beam. The orange triangle indicates where you need to move the viewport with the left analog stick, so you can aim the beam at the next tower. Thankfully, you can look around with Triangle to go into first-person mode and see where the next tower is.

16:28 - Let's open a hatch.

18:52 - Had we stayed on the dirt path, we would have ended up here. The seventh and last Scout Flyer - and another Power Cell - will be here.

22:07 - By repositioning all the towers and bringing the energy beam back to the village, we can go back to the mayor for another Power Cell...

22:44 - ...after being reminded about the Zoomer by Keira, of course.

23:16 - We got it!
