PrinceWatercress plays Bugs Bunny's Crazy Castle (Game Boy) - Part 1 of 10

We've gone from the NES game to the Game Boy game...and this one is even more difficult!

Left and Right let you move left and right, while Up lets you enter doorways and stairways. Be careful, as pressing Up while not in front of a doorway will cause you to keep moving in the direction you are currently facing. If you go down a stairway (the horizontal non-doorway stairs, you will not be able to stop going down until you are all the way down it. Pressing either button after collecting a boxing glove lets you launch it forward. Simple enough.

If you walk off an edge, you'll move forward one step after you land.

The main goal of every stage is to collect all eight carrots in the stage without getting caught by the enemies. If an enemy touches you, you will lose a life and you will have to start the stage over. If you collect all eight carrots in a stage, you will go on to the next stage and you will get a 1-Up for your efforts.

Safes, crates, weights and buckets can be pushed either into enemies or off cliffs where they can fall on top of enemies to defeat them. The weights move one space forward, while the safes move two forward, the crates move three forward and the buckets move five forward. If they fall off a cliff or hit a wall, they will disappear. There are also boxing gloves you can pick up and then use at any time by pressing A or B to destroy an enemy in front of you, and you can carry multiple boxing gloves to give beatdowns to multiple enemies. A boxing glove will only disappear when it hits an enemy.

There are a couple of enemies in this game, and most of them will be different colored version of Sylvester. The Sylvesters will do whatever they can to chase after Bugs, but the frequency of when they go up or down a doorway, stairway or pipe when near them varies. They have two different colored noses to tell them apart, and you'll have to keep an eye on them to see how they operate. The pink Sylvester will always go up doorways, stairways and pipes if he is able to. Yosemite Sam usually stays on the level that he is on and usually goes in which ever direction you're doing, and never uses doorways, stairways or pipes at all. While his movement pattern is simple compared to the Sylvesters, but he can be a nuisance.. Daffy Duck is much like Yosemite Sam, but he can also stop moving sometimes and can also turn around when he hits a wall. Wile E. Coyote moves much like Yosemite Sam as well.

The jar with the liquid in it is carrot juice. Picking it up will make you temporarily invincible, and touching enemies while under the effects of the carrot juice will get rid of them.

When in doorways, you are invincible, and enemies cannot hurt you while you are in them. If you and an enemy are using the same doorway at the same time, they cannot hurt in that situation, either. As soon as you come out of a doorway, however, you are completely vulnerable to being touched by enemies.

To go into a pipe, either press Up when a pipe entrance is above you, or press Down when a pipe entrance is below you. When you go in a pipe, you won't stop traveling through it until you come out of the other side. Just like with doorways, you are completely invincible while traveling through pipes but completely vulnerable as soon as you come out of them.

As you go further into the levels, the Sylvesters will prove to be more and more cunning. Sometimes you'll have to move to a certain area to bait them away from being in an area you want to be in.

The stages are pretty easy so far, and when you complete a level, you can get a replay of how you did last time or when you beat it. Just select "Video" on Mode Select and you'll get your instant replay. Select "Play" and you'll go to the next level.
