PrinceWatercress plays Vindicators - Part 1 of 8

The year is 2525, and Earth is in peril unless an attacking force of evil alien spaces stations can be stopped. Enter the Vindicators: the most powerful tank weapons ever made created. They must go through all eight stations and destroy the forces on the way to stop the mastermind behind all these attacks.

Station 1

Controlling the tank is simple. Left and Right let you go counter-clockwise and clockwise respectively, while Up lets you move forward and Down lets you move in reverse. You can also use diagonal directions to move in a slightly larger circle, but be careful. B lets you shoot your gun.

The red and green glowing things are mines. If you run into those, you will take damage.

The green circle with the F in it gives you some fuel back. As you go through the game, your fuel will slowly run out, and you will lose fuel if anything hits you. If you run out of fuel, you will slow down tremendously and you will have five seconds to get to the end before you blow up and lose a life. If you run out fuel, you lose a life, and if you run out of lives, you're starting the whole game over.

There will be enemy tanks that look like yours. Be sure to keep your distance and destroy them with your turret, and try not to get shot at yourself.

The red dot with the green arrows coming out it are homing shots. You can have up to 99 of them. To fire one, press B, and it will home into the nearest enemy.

The stars are used to buy upgrades for your tank at the end of every wave. There are four waves in a station. With stars, you can increase your shot speed and power, speed your tank up, buy secondary weapons and even get force shield armor for your tank that will keep you from losing fuel should you get hit by anything.

The black key opens up the purple door at the end, while the red key opens up the red key at the end. When you pick up a key and reach the exit, get to a door quickly before it closes. Otherwise, you'll be stuck in the level until you get the other key and go through it. If both doors close on you after being opened, you'll have to sit there and use all your fuel before starting over again.

When you complete a wave, you will get bonus points and fuel. If you happen to be full on fuel or reach maximum fuel while getting fuel bonuses, the bonus fuel becomes bonus stars (which are harder to get than bonus fuel) that you can upgrade your tank further with. You don't get a lot of bonus stuff at the beginning, but as you play through the game (and play well), you'll be able to get more fuel and stars to make upgrading easier.

The spires with the rings around them are barriers. Do not move between them when lighting is coursing between them, or you will take damage.

The circle with the orange dot rotating around it is a turret. Wait for the orange circle to line up with you before shooting at it to take it down, and make sure you don't get shot yourself. Some of them drop power-ups, so look alive. Other turrets are taller and have to rise out of the ground first in order to be destroyed with multiple shots. Be sure to shoot them down; they can make things a little harder.

The red circle with the green down arrow on it is a bomb. Use the Select Button to switch between smart shots and bombs. You can have up to 99 bombs. Like the smart shots, you can fire them by pressing B when they are selected. They just fire forward and explode on the ground a short distance ahead of where you are currently facing at the time of firing.

You'll start seeing walls in the second wave. Thankfully, the waves are pretty short and easy to get through, and also easy to memorize.

When upgrading your tank, work on shot range and shot power first. This makes it easier to blow through all the enemies very quickly in later levels.

The red shields add a little bit to your force shields. As mentioned earlier, shield soak damage so that your fuel tank doesn't have to.

In the last wave of every station, you'll have to blow open a door with a smart shot or a bomb. In the next room, you'll have ten seconds to evacuate. Be sure to grab as much as you can and get through one of the exit doors before they close. If you get out in time, you'll get a good amount of bonus fuel/stars. If you fail to do so, you won't lose a life, but you won't get as many bonuses.
