Our adventure beyond C-Island starts with a dolphin rescue mission.
Chapter 2: Dolphins
If you go to the west at the start, you'll be going in an endless loop; as a matter of fact, you won't be going anywhere at all. So just go east.
You'll soon come across a distressed dolphin. Through Sub-C's translation programming, the dolphin will ask you to find her son. Select "Yes," then head east. Enter the nearby tunnel and land on the beach to the north. The light blue water is a barrier that you cannot go past, by the way.
The man at the lighthouse will tell you he has not seen the dolphin's child, but he does tell you to visit his wife in the house to the south.
Get back in the C-Sub. You may notice water tiles on the map with some pixels moving around. If you move through the walls in these locations, you can explore more of the island and park near the southern house. There are also tiles with black wavy lines, but we cannot utilize those yet. Instead, park near the house and go to it. The woman in the house will tell you she has not seen the boy dolphin either, but she will tell you that she found a bottle on the beach. Leave the house and you'll find a bottle to the north that was not there before. Get on the beach and walk into where the rocks are. You'll find a secret passage that will take you to the beach where the bottle is. Walk into the bottle, and inside you will find a note from your uncle telling you to use the code 1776 in Sub-C.
Go back to Sub-C, and input 1776 as the code. You'll unlock the ability to dive with Sub-C. To dive, just go up to a tile with black wavy lines and press A. You'll dive and go across to another set of black wavy lines. From there, you'll be able to make your way north.
To the north is an opening to another dungeon, but before you go there, head south and walk into the mountains to the east near the Big Heart. You'll find a hidden passage that leads to the Big Heart. You'll want to pick this Big Heart up, as it will add one heart to your maximum health, which you'll really need.
From there, you can go into the cave-like opening nearby and start the next dungeon.
The enemies here are tougher, so stay sharp.
The first enemy you'll meet are some fish that crawl out of the water and crawl at you.
The bat will hit anything that is too close if you equip and use it. It does have limited uses, so be careful with it.
Some of the titles here will rise up from and sink out of the water, and you'll want to time your jumps so that you can leap to where you need to go without sinking and dying. Please don't die; you'll lose all your items and you won't have full health when you come back, and you won't get as many points from completing the dungeon.
The starfish bounces around at 45-degree angles and is pretty quick, so you'll have to anticipate where they go as you strike at them.
The octopi will randomly bounce around. Thankfully, they're easy to hit.
If you see any black pixels near a wall, you can walk into them to find a hidden passage to another area.
The two hearts icon refills two hearts' worth of health. By the way, if you can't grab an item that's next to you, attack it with the yo-yo. If the yo-yo touches it, it's yours.
The big pufferfish will jump out of the water and spit projectiles at you as you move around. Just stay away from it.
Chests are opened by hitting switches. The snowman icon will temporarily freeze all items and can only be used twice.
Before going north of where you found the snowman icon to fight the boss, go back through the hidden passage and enter the now-opened doorway (which you can open in the hidden room) you saw when you entered. Jump to the left where the water is, fight off all the enemies and go south. You'll find a potion. Be sure to pick it up for the boss, then jump on the tiles to find a switch to go back to the main path.
The boss here is an octopus. Jump around to avoid the projectiles as much as possible, and when the octopus gets close, pause the game and use the snowman icon to freeze the screen - and the water - temporarily and get as many hits on the octopus as possible. This will make beating the octopus boss a lot easier.
When you beat the octopus, you will automatically leave the dungeon. Head back to Sub-C, and the mother dolphin will show up and thank you before leading you north through the rocks to the next adventure.
