PrinceWatercress plays StarTropics - Part 10 of 12

It's time to head to the aliens' spaceship...and boy, is it hard!

Chapter 7: Alien Spaceship

Go north to the spaceship.

As soon as you head north, avoid the turrets and go north. Fight off the alien who shoots at you with a gun with the Shooting Star, then continue north. Grab the vitamin in the northwest corner. The vitamin will give you 22 hearts, and will help you survive a little while longer while in the spaceship. The effects of the vitamin will eventually wear off and your health will drain until it reaches your actual maximum; when that happens, Mike's skin will no longer be flushed red and you'll be at full health until you get hit again. If you want, you can take out the turrets with the Shooting Star, but you're better off getting behind the more northern of the two turrets and attacking the north wall to open a passage. Pick up the karate kick icon, then go back and head east.

From the next screen, go south, then jump east across the tiles and take out the aliens that will shoot at you. Grab the gun, then go back and take the teleporter pad to the west. On the next screen, stand on the eastern tile.

Get away from the alien who is firing at you, then head south and make sure the bikes don't hit you. Switch to the karate kick and take out all the aliens as you continue west. Continue west to the teleporter tile on the next screen, and have the gun equipped and ready to shot in case any bikers show up and get lined up with you, as they pack a punch if they run into you.

Step on the tile to the immediate east, then head west. Pick up the winged anklet, then equip the gun and shoot at the flying gray robots from a distance while jumping between tiles. You'll probably take down the turret in the center while dealing with the robots. After you beat the robots, you'll be able to head north.

You'll now be on another overworld map. Take the stairs in the southwest corner, then follow the path to grab the red magic cube. When you pick it up, you'll get the Super Nova, which is even more powerful than the Shooting Star and the most powerful yo-yo weapon in the game. You must have 11 hearts' worth of health to use this weapon, which tears enemies apart and travels the entire length of the screen.

Going north will take you to another dungeon. Unlike the previous area, this area is a lot more linear.

The green turrets that move across the room can be destroyed if they are open and shooting, but you're better off avoiding them. Be sure to pick up the gun when you see it, and be ready to destroy a northern wall to get a potion.

The blue turret shoots spinning spiked balls that have to be destroyed with the yo-yo.

After fighting off four turrets in order to make your way to the next room, you'll soon meet the gray satellite enemies, which bounce around at 45-degree angles. Attack the nearby crack in the northern wall to get a gun with a wider shot. Grab the vitamin, then quickly make your way to the next area. Watch out for lightning barriers that will shoot out as you make your way further east. Equip the wide shot gun and carefully take out the aliens, preferably without getting a few extra ventilation holes added to your person.
