PrinceWatercress plays StarTropics - Part 5 of 12

In this entry, we fight a big ghost, turn into a girl, and take on a giant snake before getting back on the ocean.

The boss is a big ghost...but you'll need to use the scepter to uncover him. Once you do, equip the bolas and throw them at the big ghost when he stands still and doesn't send smaller ghosts at you. Be sure to avoid the fireballs coming out of the pipes and the smaller ghosts that fly at you until then. After enough damage, the big ghost will start moving faster. When that happens, it does not stop, so be ready to stand to the side and throw your bolas at the right time. After a little more damage, you'll beat the big ghost and complete the dungeon.

There will be a room with a pit, a skull on a wall and three tiles soon after this. Jump on the center tile and jump in place repeatedly to fill the pit with water and dry up the nearby lake. You'll find the crystal ball. Take it and leave the village.

From here, go back to Shecola and talk to the fortune teller in the back. By giving her the crystal ball, you'll be able to turn into a girl and enter Shecola after having your fortune read. From here, you'll be able to enter the castle and talk to everybody, though you do not necessarily need to do that. All you really need to do is enter the doorway in the northwest corner and go up the stairs to meet Queen Shecola. She commends you on fighting all the ghosts in Ghost Village before telling you to talk to the head warrior. Before you leave, the queen will give you the shooting star, which is an upgrade for the yo-yo. It is twice as powerful and travels twice as far, and you must have six red hearts of health in order to use it, and if you go below that, you will be bumped back to the regular yo-yo.

The head warrior is the woman in purple near the women lifting weights. She will tell you to shout "Abracadabra" and jump ten times at the tunnel end if you want to travel west. After that, talk to the fortune teller at the entrance and you'll turn back into a boy and leave.

From here, head to the tunnel to the west of Shecola.

Thankfully, the western tunnel is a much simpler affair. Just jump on the switch at the beginning and jump in place on it until a bridge opens to the north. Grab the hearts, and be ready to utilize the Shooting Star to wipe out all the enemies more easily.

After leaving the western tunnel, walk into the mountains. You'll find a secret path leading to the other side that will allow you to reach a hut and the nearby mountains. At the hut, you can talk to a poet, but the conversation does not provide anything useful. Head into the mountain from here.

You'll be in another dungeon. The third room has a hidden tile in the water that you can jump to, and if you jump north from it, you'll find a secret bat. This isn't the only hidden tile you'll be finding, and you'll be forced to leap on a few in order to get through this dungeon.

Be sure to keep your health as high as possible here; it makes the enemies much easier to deal with.

The white tiles sink when you land on them, so be prepared to make your move as soon as you land on them or else you're going to drown. The red ones in the volcanic sections

The kappas will leap out of the water and come directly at you while leaping back into the water on the other side. Be ready to hit them as soon as you see them, or else you'll be taking quite a bit of damage.

If you found the bola earlier in the dungeon, it will allow you to destroy the lava monster in one hit. Also, use the stopwatch in the next room to more easily refill two hearts of health if you need the health replenishment.

The green eye monsters go back and forth very quickly when you hit them once. Sidestep them and hit them from the side to get the other two or three hits you need to destroy them.

You'll eventually be out of the volcanic part of the dungeon. You'll have to fight some purple beasts shortly after you get out, and six hits from the Shooting Star will defeat them.

In the room with the snake, pay attention to where the snake stood before it attacked you and go west from there. You'll reach the geyser, and you can leap onto it to exit the dungeon. You'll be at the top of the mountain and you'll meet the hermit, who will give you the Scroll of Obob, which lets you wake Bananette. Michael will automatically run all the way back to Miracola and recite the spell that wakes up Bananette  The mayor of Miracola will repair Sub-C, and you can get in and head to the next chapter.
