PrinceWatercress plays Ratchet and Clank - Part 4 of 38

There's nothing more we can do in Aridia, so let's head to Kerwan and see if we can find Captain Qwark.

We're done in Aridia for the time being, so let's get in the ship and head to Kerwan.

Metropolis - Planet Kerwan

Compared to the other areas we've been, this is more of a bustling city than a village or a desert.

If you head to the Gadgetron Vendor here, you'll be able to buy the Blaster for 2,500 Bolts. This gun is important, as it is your standard laser gun and it will be useful against a lot of foes. Because of this, there isn't anything special about the gun, but ammo is cheap and plentiful for this thing, which makes it important to have. You can also automatically aim the Blaster to an extent, too. If you see a green target reticle on an enemy when your close enough to one, you can press Circle to automatically fire at the enemy and hit them.

2:54 - If you drop down from where the Gadgetron Vendor is, you can find a secret compartment where you can find a Gold Bolt. Also, you can shoot the vehicles down for a few Bolts each, if you choose.

Tapping L1 lets you quickly center the camera, just in case.

If you hit the street lamps with your wrench, you can get a few Bolts out of each one you destroy. It's not much, but it can help.

Enemies include the numerous dog droids that will come at you and hit you as well as the red guys with the guns who shoot missiles at you. The red guys with the gns have limited range, so target them from a fair distance. If you get close enough to them, they will try to hit you with their guns, but you can easily hit them with a mid-air strike for double damage, anyway.

Shortly after the start, you'll get a reminder that you can hold L1 to aim with the Blaster in your hand in the form of a low-flying plane. Just use L1 to aim at the plane, then shoot it down with the Blaster to destroy it. Just don't get too close; the plane will shoot missiles at you.

The smaller guys will run around and drop mines, and the mines will do damage if you move into them.

While crouching with R1 or R2, you can re-position yourself with the D-Pad or left analog stick.

When you reach Big Al's Robo Shack, you can get the Heli-Pack upgrade for Clank, provided you have 1,000 Bolts. With this upgrade, you can hold down the X button in mid-air to glide and slowly descend, and you can also hold R1 while running and jump to perform a long jump, something you couldn't do before. Once you get the Heli-Pack upgrade, you can continue on.

Another move you can do is a Boost Jump. With the Heli-Pack equipped (actually, you should always have it equipped at this point), hold R1 to crouch, then hold the jump button to perform a Boost Jump. This is another move that you couldn't perform before, and this allows you to perform a high jump that takes you slightly higher into the air than a double jump. You'll also learn how to do the aforementioned long jump and glide commends after that.

There is a turret near the end. Thankfully, you can easily shot it down with the blaster.

You'll eventually approach a train. There are a few things you can do here.

15:15 - Going right as soon as you reach the train depot leads to this area. Just Boost Jump onto the boxes, then take out all the dog enemies. From here, you'll be practicing with the Heli-Pack to get from one platform to another for a Gold Bolt. Thankfully, jumping in the general direction of the Gold Bolt gives the Gold Bolt to you automatically.

If you turn left before getting on the train, you'll find a huge cache of crates that you can destroy for Bolts. Once you destroy all these crates, however, they never re-spawn, so this one area full of crates is a one-shot deal.

Once you're on the train itself, the train will be in motion. Equip the Pyrocitor and use it to take care of the guys with the guns from up close. The Pyrocitor can stun them, and you can use the wrench to knock them off the platforms to get rid of them. Make sure you use the long jump to get from one platform to the next, or else you'll have a higher chance of messing up on the jump and falling into a bottomless pit, forcing you to start this whole part of the level over.

Once you reach the front of the train where the Infobot is, you won't get the Infobot right away. You'll have to do just a little bit more exploring before you can finally run into the Infobot. Here, you'll find an Infobot where Drek commands one of his lieutenants to clear-cut Planet Eudora and use the trees on the planet for the one that Drek wants to make. Ratchet and Clank then agree to set out for Eudora after Ratchet proposes they take out the lieutenant himself, with Clank saying they can use the opportunity to find out where Drek is.
